Thomas & Catherine
The Adams Inn, Quincy
What an amazing evening for a wedding, though the clouds were rolling through all day, 30 minutes before the ceremony  the sun was beaming and the sweetest of breezes was blowing across the beautiful Neponset River.  The Adams Inn gazebo was decorated with pumpkins and hay stacks, a perfect wedding theme to welcome in the fall season!  Thomas and Catherine shared a beautiful ceremony with their family and closest friends.  Building a ceremony for these two was a breeze considering Catherine had already picked out some of the best readings that fit her and Thomas's special relationship. I even had the pleasure of meeting their adorable son who made one of the cutest ring bearers I have ever seen!
Congratulations Thomas and Catherine

Can I use and out of state marriage license to get married in Massachusetts (and vice versa) Part - 3
No if you get a marriage license for Massachusetts you are legally only allowed to get married in Massachusetts. Vice versa, if you got a marriage license for California you would have to go by there laws and get married in California.
Who can marry us?
Anyone who is an ordained as a minister or clergy to perform a marriage ceremony legally. Also a Justice of the Peace can legally perform a marriage ceremony. Also if you would prefer a person who is not a mister, clergy, or a Justice of the Peace you can have a person apply for a special occasion JP license for one day.
Do we need witnesses?
In Massachusetts you are not required to have a witness. On the license the officiant’s signature would be enough.
How do I apply for my marriage license?
Both you and your fiancé need to go to the office of the city or community clerk to apply.
How long is my marriage license good for?
Your marriage license is good for as long as you are still married but when you receive your marriage license you have 60 days to get married. When you get married you must have the officiate sign and turn in the marriage license.
What documents are required?
Most of the time you need proof you are who you say are. Such as, a photo I.D. Some place request a birth certificate. Also you do not need a blood test anymore in Massachusetts
How much does it cost?
It is different in every community. Like, in Boston it is $50 to apply but in Salem it is $20 to apply.
Where is my marriage license recognized?
In Massachusetts you are welcomed to get married in any town or city you would prefer as long as you have a Massachusetts marriage license.
Where can I get certified copies of my marriage license?
You can contact your local office of vital records and statistics for the certified copy of the marriage license. Normally you have to visit the office to prove identification and pay the fee for the license but before you go in call just in case it has to be done and you don’t have to go in another day.

Roberta made our marriage ceremony absolutely beautiful. In the weeks preceding the wedding, she was wonderfully helpful in providing feedback (as we had lots of questions about everything---this being the first time either of us has done this) and offering suggestions. She took the vows that we wrote for ourselves and built the ceremony around them. Prompt, confident, calming, enthusiastic, and well-spoken, she was exactly what we needed. She provided for us a glorious celebration of our love
I highly recommend Roberta!! Roberta officiated my wedding ceremony and she was great to work with from the beginning! She had great suggestions for our ceremony including readings, which was great for us since we weren't really sure where to start. Roberta was also very knowledgeable, professional and organized. She made our ceremony so relaxed and fun that we weren't nervous at all! Our guests are still talking about what a terrific ceremony we had. Thank you so much Roberta for making our wedding day so special and memorable!
From the moment my wife and I met Roberta we knew she was the one who had to play one of the most important roles on our wedding day. Roberta is kind, compassionate and really takes the time to get to know your relationship. She then puts together an amazing ceremony. She put us as ease and we were completely comfortable. This is one person who I can truly say is in a job that they were meant to be in. The entire experience was exactly what we hoped for. As this was our only wedding we were unsure of the process and Roberta guided us through removing any stress! the ceremony was perfect and we've received so many compliments on how wonderful she was! The Lydon Chapel was always responsive to us and I would highly recommend that if you need a Justice of the Peace, you call and ask for Roberta! thank you Roberta for making out wedding day ceremony the most special part of the day.

She provided for us a glorious celebration of our love
Roberta performed an absolutely beautiful ceremony for us at our home in front of a few friends and family. Everything she came up with was exactly what we were looking for. I would highly recommend her services to anyone and would use her again in a heart beat (though hopefully I will never have to!).
I highly recommend Roberta!! Roberta officiated my wedding ceremony and she was great to work with from the beginning! She had great suggestions for our ceremony including readings, which was great for us since we weren't really sure where to start. Roberta was also very knowledgeable, professional and organized. Roberta did an excellent job! She arrived early. She is very professional and friendly. She took pictures for us after, with our cameras. I would recommend her to anyone!
As we were struggling to decide what to do for a ceremony, we waited until the last minute, and was delighted to meet with Justice Roberta. She put us at ease, gave us suggestions which showed her flexibility, and helped craft a ceremony that was perfect for us in less than a week! Many guests at the wedding commented on how wonderful and heart-felt they thought the ceremony was. Roberta arrived early and was very professional.
This was a perfect intimate wedding spot. We picked a small parlor room as we only had 4 guests attending. Not wanting a religious wedding we thought we would get a very quick "Do you?... Yes I do" but they chose some really nice words to outline the meaning of our wedding and Roberta did a fantastic job.
Roberta was wonderful! A true joy to work with! She treated Tim and I wonderfully and I would recommend her to anyone getting married!!

When I first met Peter and Jay they informed me why they had chosen this specific location to tie the knot. Â This was the spot, two years prior, of their very first date together! Lucky for them, it was one of the most beautiful days of summer and this spot, overlooking the ocean, couldn't have been any more romantic. Â With just a few close friends by their sides Jay and Peter had a sweet and simple ceremony with a hand unity reading to solidify their love to one another. Â I have to say, as my first same-sex male wedding, it is definitely one I will never forget. Â Thank you for letting me be part of your special day!

Justice Of The Peace Part - One
CONGRATULATIONS on your engagement!
Since a lot of weddings can be stressful to plan, my main priority is to make finding a wedding officiant as easy and least stressful as possible. One of my favorite parts of my job is meeting new and excited couples, like yourself, who are ready to take the next step into their future. Â
Designing services based on all the different preferences is always an exciting process. Whether it is a simple spiritual backyard wedding, an elaborate religious new years celebration or even a convertible drive thru wedding each unique situation makes its own magical moment. Â
Depending on what you are looking for I can design a ceremony just for you and your unique relationship. Â I look forward to the opportunity of being part of your big day.

Roberta performed an absolutely beautiful ceremony for us at our home in front of a few friends and family. Everything she came up with was exactly what we were looking for. I would highly recommend her services to anyone and would use her again in a heart beat (though hopefully I will never have to!).

Thomas & Catherine – Part 1
Marci & Janis
September 1, 2013
The Clarion Hotel
Marci & Janis
The Clarion Hotel, Hull
A great way to end the summer, a beautiful beach side wedding! Â Marci and Janis, Â who met as co-workers, tied the knot mid afternoon at the Clarion Hotel on the shore of Nantasket Beach. Â The amazing venue decorated in purple, and equipped with a photo booth was sure to impress the guest list. Â From the moment I met Marci and Janis, I could see the love they had for each other, they were eager to customize their ceremony and even chose a beautiful sand ceremony to symbolize the commitment of their vows and the unity of their lives.
Congratulations Marci and Janis
Jay & Peter
Rockport, MA
August 17, 2013
Rockport, MA
When I first met Peter and Jay they informed me why they had chosen this specific location to tie the knot. Â This was the spot, two years prior, of their very first date together! Lucky for them, it was one of the most beautiful days of summer and this spot, overlooking the ocean, couldn't have been any more romantic. Â With just a few close friends by their sides Jay and Peter had a sweet and simple ceremony with a hand unity reading to solidify their love to one another. Â I have to say, as my first same-sex male wedding, it is definitely one I will never forget. Â Thank you for letting me be part of your special day!
