Vibes for Softly Tortured Characters

For the ones who make you want to wrap them in a blanket and also scream “JUST TALK TO SOMEONE.”

Always looks like they didn’t sleep (because they didn’t)

Talks like they’re about to say something else, but never does

Constantly touches their sleeves/jewelry/lip, like if they’re not holding something, they’ll fall apart

Laughs too easily, but it never quite reaches their eyes

Over-apologizes for things no one noticed

Craves affection but flinches when they get it

Body language = trying to take up as little space as possible

Flashes of unexpected rage, like pressure finally cracking glass

Always says “I’m fine” in a tone that screams “Please ask again”

Cries alone, then wipes their face like it’s a secret

Feels safest in chaos because stillness feels like waiting for pain

Thinks being loved means being a burden

Cannot remember the last time they were truly, fully relaxed

Keeps people at arm’s length, but is the first to drop everything if someone else needs help

Treats their own joy like it's a luxury they didn’t earn

I want to talk about autistic people who are very gullible , easy to trick .

I have been very easy to fool my whole life , people would take advantage of that all the time growing up . it would always upset me because people would tell me mean jokes or fake bad news and then laugh when i got sad or started crying .

it is so cruel to do this , so please don't make anyone but especially autistic people upset just to laugh in our faces , it is mean and cruel .

i don't understand tone or expression that make it clear its a joke , neither do many other autistic people .

please be mindful this april 1st ( and always ) .

Sometimes it's useful to look at your dialogue and ask yourself, "would a real human being talk like that?" But it's also good to ask the follow-up questions of "would the way a real human being talks sound good here" and "does this character actually talk like a real human being or are they weird about it."

misogyny isn’t like, a side oppression that gets tacked onto the main ones lol. some things literally are rooted in a hatred and policing of women and that’s still violent and unacceptable

it's always so fascinating and heartbreaking when a character in a story is simultaneously idolized and abused. a chosen prophet destined for martyrdom. a child prodigy forced to grow up too fast. a powerful warrior raised as nothing but a weapon. there's just something so uniquely messed up about singing someone's praises whilst destroying them.

Then, the issue of not having time to write when you feel like writing.

Many of you need to understand that there are media that serves to make you uncomfortable. Experiencing discomfort when consuming media is normal, and if you feel overwhelmed, take a break or stop indulging in it. 

However, the piece of media and its creator isn’t “evil” for making you experience negative emotions and shouldn’t be banned because of it. Your discomfort isn’t a “moral compass” and shouldn’t used as such.
