Maurice Sendak: Went to the Skirball Museum in Los Angeles for the 2nd time this week to see the soon to close Maurice Sendak Exhibition. Joyful, exuberant, thought provoking and emotional. If you need some motivation to keep growing, changing, and creating, look at Sendak. I didn’t know about his one Pop up book, Mommy? A joyful salute to the greatest monsters of Movieland. Just couldn’t stop smiling. Thank you Maurice and thank you Skirball.

Coincidence or omniscience? I hadn’t posted anything on Tumblr for a very long time until yesterday. I noted that there is something to be said for the realization that I have less time ahead than behind me. And then i spent an hour on a call with a long time friend who shared that same thought, only to learn that she received some very bad news about her health yesterday afternoon. Still processing.

It’s been some time since I explored tumbler and decided the time was write to get going again. The theme I’ve chosen this time around is connected to the reality that I have less time ahead than behind. That observation reminds me to just keep trying stuff. It doesn’t have to work, it doesn’t have to make money, its just really good to try stuff and see if it fits, it tastes the way you hoped it would, or completely challenges what you have believed or how you did stuff for the majority of your life.
