Kagetora Headcanon : True Emotional Capacity

It would be important to address that there is something fundamentally broken with Nagao's psyche. Whether it's a question of genetics or fate, even the modern world cannot know, but one thing is for certain: She is completely incapable of feeling any sort of empathy for humans.

That is not to say she is incapable of showing acts of which one might expect from an empathetic person, as she does still hold a semblance of sympathy for human plights ( though this is often disguised as pity. )

However, the tragedy of her upbringings - raised with siblings and parents who feared and discarded her; makes incorrectly assume that she is not capable of feeling anything at all.

She could only be called an inhuman monster so many times before she started to believe it; not acknowledging the pain of isolation or the desire to be accepted. Even in her mortal life, there was a point where she stopped referring to herself as human.

She does not fake her smiles because she is incapable of feeling happiness, but because she has been taught the world will fear her if she doesn't. She assumes her sorrow is out of tattered, selfish pride, and her anger is just a reflection of her own will.

A monster attempting to be virtuous- is there anything more laughable than that?

Yet she persists, as Bishamonten is with her. She will follow his guidance to the end.

i've decided to brand myself on kagetora. because of this i downloaded the material book she was in, which included refs for her weapons, horse, and outfit. Glad to know i was blessed with all the info, now i can draw her well...
