Speaking of cups: one of my favorite coffee sites; Dear Coffee I Love You, teamed up with MUG before Christmas and released the tumbler Damn Thy Disposable.
The coffee experience just got better.

For me the cup is a big part of the experience of drinking coffee. Honestly, the cup that it is in is almost as important as the coffee itself. What I see when I hold it my hands, is central to the experience. It could be incredible coffee, but it wouldn't be the same if it wasn't it a great cup.

Welcome to Ka(f)fe
Ka(f)fe is about to take shape, and I welcome you to join me on this journey.
Ka(f)fe is a coffeeshop tour taking place in Los Angeles for the remainder of 2012. Here we will review, analyze and rate the best (and worst) coffee shops in the LA area, hopefully giving you some ideas of what kind of third space that resonates with you. Are you simply a coffee snob, a design snob, hoping for community and the neighborhood feel, or maybe you need a place to work and study. Here we will look at all these factors and we hope both you and us will get some surprises along the way.
I chose Ka(f)fe as the name for the tour as I am Norwegian and wanted to look at both the kaffe (coffee) and kafe (cafe/coffeeshop) side of things. I'm a growing coffee lover, former barista (hopefully to be again soon), design snob, and lover of the potential that lies in the coffeeshop/cafe as the third space in the western postmodern culture.
With me on this journey I have my eminent boyfriend, X, that has encouraged my love for coffee by giving me two of my three coffee makers; my espresso machine and my dear chemex. Through this journey he will frequent the blog as well as other friends that decides to join. I would also love for your comments and perspectives.
Let the Ka(f)fe tour begin!
