Impose my own commitment on others

Hide said that when he was young, he imposed his commitment to others. He prepared a lot to his challenge and he couldn't help forcing his value to others like massmedia.

I think about what I have done, when I was foucsing on something, I tended to impose my value to others as well... That's because I can't care for others..

I was supposed to make a presentation to VP of Indeed about New concept we are thinking about. This is so exciting but so nerveous for me because this will be my first English presentation

Collaboration

This week I was making a plan to monetize the product that now we are testing. Indeed is good at building a product but not good at planning monetization or not having knowledge and understanding processes of clients. Therefore I asked two CEO of HR companies in Japan and ceo of Recruit to discuss it. They have strong knowledge about them and came up with a lot of ideas. I want to become a person who can bridge between Indeed and Recruit.

Control unconscious

I feel that knowing and understanding myself is very important since I came to the US. By knowing yourself, you can control yourself. 

Deciding your habit or pace according to the general theory. For example, it takes more time for me to start concentrating compared to one of my friends. I was jealous that he could concentrate soon after the break. However I could accept my own way and improve scientifically. As I came to the US and I had to make a plan and proceed with it efficiently, I tried to face myself. It’s like to think about position to put the desk, the song to listen before my work and how to order pens. Even if somebody thinks that it is ridiculous, it dramatically improved the time that I started to concentrate and quality of concentrate.

When I was watching the documentary about Ichiro, I saw he had a lot of strange customs(generally speaking of routine). While the documentary, he said a word, ‘Control unconscious’. I was stunned, when I heard that word.

‘control unconscious‘ is a very good concept. I can’t explain why position to put the desk and which song to listen before work affect my concentration. However you can feel it’s better to do so and it might help you peformance. We can’t verbalize most things. but, I felt it’s important to follow your intuition and heart and build your own routine that enable you to avoid using wasted capacity of your brain.

One month has passed

One month has passed since i came to US. I’m getting used to my new life. At first, I couldn’t hear what people were talking about at all. However  one month has passed,  I'm getting better at hearing English.

And I have understood the big picture of Indeed. I have found out a place where I could create a new value to company and society.

Exciting

I worked all night yesterday, organized data and built a prototype. I talked to Hiro and Satoshi and we could find possibility of the next key product in this. I am happy that I cold make the issue for the future. I will MVP plan this weekend. If I can love to do something and have a passion for something, I can work hard.

Internet 2.0

2 days ago, I talked to Haseryo-kun about Internet 2.0 on the phone. Since I came to the Indeed, I was thinking about that  AI company would disrupt each industries in the next decade.

Son-san told that there are only 2 industries that internet companies has changed, retail and advertisement. Amazon changed retail, Google, Facebook changed ad.

I think that such a change would happen in other industries, HR, medical, real estate and so on. all companies Son-san invested are such a company. I think Indeed is also a kind of.

Let's say that such a company calling AI company.What’s the difference between current IT company and AI company? AI company provides a little convenient experience at very low cost by using AI.

In internet 1.0, you just save data and retrieve them whenever you want. So it’s easy to localize service because It’s like language or culture are important. This is just knowledge internet.

But from now on, Intelligence Internet will begin. To make a little convenient experience, data is the one of the important things. AI company expands their business all over the world and they can provide new experience at overwhelming low price. And they will grow with increasing data and enhancing their AI experience. One of local player can’t copy and localize low cost and AI experience.

Growing gradually

It’s been almost 1 month since I came to the US. I felt I’m growing gradually. I got 3 proposals and working on them. When I came here, I couldn’t listen less than 10% in English, 1 month passed, I can listen about 30% and understand what they are talking about roughly.

The next month, I wanna become to be able to discuss for myself and lead the team in my items.

I went to Japanese meetup for the first time. I have no friends out of company. So I felt I have to create opportunities for myself to improve my English

start writing a diary

A few weeks have passed, I gradually got used to life in Austin.

The lifestyle has changed. In Japan, my life style is like getting up late, working until late, eating out and drinking until midnight.

But since I came to America, my life style has been healthy, get up early in the morning, eating lunch everyday in the company kitchen(so delicious and healthy) working until just 6pm, going back to home and had dinner and going to gym. I have more time for myself to read some books, thinking, studying English.

What I am feeling is lifestyle is closely related to city where you live. I love Tokyo, so convenient, a lot of good restaurants and many places to play. But there are some noise. Curiously I don’t miss these things so far. I thought they are important for me, but it’s ok without them. Actually, I felt even more happy.

As living in different environment, what to think will change. if you live in different environment, what you think and the way of thinking will change with being stimulated diffrent circuit.

I found this blog by accident. I was surprised that I wrote these articles 3 years ago. I felt a little bit ashamed but keeping my thought is quite important and useful. So, I will write my thought in English from today.

本質を考えよう

もう30度を超えて夏！という感じになってきた。そんな中もう大学院入試まで一ヶ月を切っている。 指導を受けたい助教がいるので、第一志望は東大である。最近思ったことを少し 物事をある角度から見たときに本質的なものはごく少量である。ということである。自分が受ける先の東大の先生は日本にいながら唯一といってもいいくらい、世界の著名な機械学習の学会に論文を通している。若干31歳である。彼になぜ先生はそこまで論文を出せるのか？と訪ねたところ 物事の本質はどこにあるのか？常に考えている そして研究は孤独に行うものだ と答えられた。先生は人柄も良さげだし、ぎらついてる訳でもない。なんか自分の中でストンと落ちた気がした。 最近は本当に情報量が多い。人の生き方もバリエティにとんでくるだろう。ただ人間のキャパシティが変化した訳ではない。ただinput が圧倒的に増加している。これまでゆっくり考えていたものに関して、いちいち思考する時間が無くなる。そして過度な情報にさらされる。つまり情報を整理したり自分の思考を止めてしまう事が増えるのである。 それは自分にも当てはまることである。ある程度アンテナを張っていると物事の世界の方向生はある程度のベクトルに決まってくる。それをさも自分の意見かのように述べる傾向が多い。しかしそれは自分の頭の中で思考されたものではない。これは大変危険である。そしていい大人までもがその傾向が強い人が多数���受けられる。 そして他人の意見が自分の思考の先と勘違いすることによって、人は不幸になる。物事に本気で取り組めなくなる。なぜなら真の本質に気��けぬまま何かに取り組むことになるからだ。 これからの時代を生きていくには、まず自分を情報から隔離して自分の頭で考える時間をある一定量割かなくてはいけない。研究職などを除けば人間は社会の情報にさらされ、利用しながら生活していくことになる。それは不可避である。一日15分でもよいから、物事の本質に向き合い自分のいる地点を確認しなくてはいけない。それはiPhoneを触らない時間、人と話す時間と別に自分の日常生活のルーティーンに組み込むべきであるとおもう。 座禅しよう（笑）

レッドオーシャン

ついに6月である。 研究室に入って2ヶ月 勉強会も出ず、研究テーマも決めず、自分の好きなように勉強を進めている。今まで触れてなかったものに触れ、見えてる角度も少し変わってきた。ITとビジネスという視点でも加藤さんに角度を変えてもらえた気がする。 どこか完全に吹っ切れたのだと思う 自分の感覚はある種間違ってはいなかったのだと確信した。またやりたいことを出来る可能性が少しでもあるということ、そこはレッドオーシャンであることも分かった。 しかしそれはとてつもなく自分のニーズであり、クールであるはずだ。バスケや浪人の勉強期間に近いモチベーションを持つことができている。あとはこれを絶やさず、環境を整えることが大事であり、どこかで自分を騙しこむことが大事なのであろう。

So it’s now official : Studio Ghibli is stopping production of animated feature films, according to producer Toshio Suzuki on MBS channel, But it’s not the end of Studio Ghibli. According to my informations, they will keep a small staff for Hayao Miyazaki projects. And also the “Momonoma” department, which is Yoshiyuki Momose staff for production of commercials, music videos … Momonoma artists are already freelance, and this is the reality : most of Studio Ghibli staff today are employees, with long term contracts. Studio Ghibli can’t pay this staff if there’s no more Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata (expensive but profitable) movies on the way. Ghibli cost too much today, so they’re just stopping the current system. Before Porco Rosso, Studio Ghibli staff was freelance. They’re coming back to this previous system. It’s a restart, like Hoshino and Suzuki said. Now they will focus on licensing, and Ghibli Museum. And wait for new viable projects. So let’s wait & see. Note : French magazines Le Monde and Liberation already talked about this information many months ago.
