dante basco meeting up with homestucks wherever he went

fandom-wide debates over how long someone’s sleeves were

the internet imploding every 4/13

when you went to a con in homestuck cosplay and anyone else in homestuck cosplay was instantly your friend and you could hang out for the rest of the day and go to the photoshoot together

really just seeing people with homestuck shirts on anywhere and being instantly friends, that fandom may have been a mess but hell if it wasn’t the best fun any of us ever had

What I don’t get is how much Roxy Lalonde is disregarded in fanfics, not just as the brilliant scientist she is, but as the ACTUAL DE FACTO LEADER OF THE ALPHA KIDS. She has been stated time and time again to be the most balanced, tough, emotionally stable, and grounded one, who pretty much babysat them throughout their entire session, she knows every one of them, and she put them and their stability in front of her own interests. She ignored her crush on Jake because her two friends had crushes on them. She didn’t even want to play the game because a) it was an obvious trap and b) she wanted Jane and Jake to actually have futures. 

She can be rash, she was desperate for company and people to connect with, but ultimately put the needs of her friends first. Hell, most of the rashness took place when she was drunk (which she has given up). 

She’s the leader. The actual selfless leader of the Alpha Kids who kept them together for six months, while ditching her addiction, this girl is tough.
