So, not sure if you know this but Angels are all considered Mel's Siblings(Canon on the TGD wiki). I hope this doesn't offend you or anything because I just find it a bit tiny weird to create a angel oc and ship it with Mel.

Worry not! I’m surprised I didn’t actually gather this though, oops! I’ll have to rewrite some stuff to make it all work out well, because Scratch is NOT related to Mel.

I think I’m gonna have the revised lore be that Scratch was a ROTLING that aspired to protect the human after hearing about how hated they were, so she sacrificed 12 angels to a mysterious man to empower herself and become what she calls a guardian angel! She has some angel features but is NOT an angel nor is she related to Mel. What do we think, does that work? Thanks for pointing this out, and don’t be afraid in the future to criticize my OC, I’m always open to improvement, and it means a lot! 🫶

TGD OC LORE

No new art for today! But I thought I’d explain some of the logistics of what Scratch is! As mentioned in her initial backstory, she used to be like any of the other angels, a small, crow-like creature. One day, she had a vision of the future, of a human being riddled with bullets, and thrust into a black spike. This terrified the angel, such needless violence against a defenseless mortal, it sickened her to her core. Out of pure love (she sacrificed about a dozen other angels to a strange man that transformed her in return) she became the very first of her kind. Not quite an angel anymore, though still referred to as one quite often! She calls herself a guardian angel, well, she did before Mel named her scratch! She set out to find the human (who she’d have to identify, since her vision wasn’t very descriptive) but don’t worry, eventually she does find Mel in a random alleyway. She tells Mel allll about how she needs to protect her and Mel’s just kinda squinting at this random fuckin bird lady like “what is your deal??” Also for fun here’s a quick little list of Scratch’s skillset:

Strengths:

Incredibly durable, bulletproof feathers, clawed hands, talons for feet, never ending optimism, abundance of love, healing saliva

Weaknesses:

Never ending optimism, possessiveness, can’t cook for shit, bad at cleaning, way too tall for some buildings, draws attention to herself

I have this huge silly angel girl for her but I’m on the fence with how Mel would interact with her, only thing set in stone is that she’s annoyed when Scratch hides her in her wings in the middle of a scuffle. HEY HEY EVERYONE!! I made a new account for my OCxCANON gaslight district stuff!! Have you ever wanted Mel to have a giant fuckass bird girlfriend???? Well???? Now there’s an account dedicated to it that you can submit asks to????? YAY???? But yeah! Have fun yalls!

Scratch was a normal unnamed angel for as long as she could remember until she caught wind from another of a human trying to blend into the other rotlings.

Moved by this story, she rebelled against the angel mother and basically fucking BOOKED her way down to the gaslight district where she harnessed her power to become a self proclaimed guardian-angel! She gained a new form with this title, resembling what you see on the right! Eventually, Mel encountered her in a particularly trashy alleyway, her original thoughts being

"oh my god what is this thing am I gonna die?"

Fortunately, the angel answered all of her questions honestly with a big dumb innocent smile. Mel, now equal parts weirded out and absolutely excited, reluctantly allowed the angel to follow her around, naming her Scratch. The two have a dynamic where Scratch can use her thick feathers to keep Mel shielded, and can disguise Mels blood as her own (both blood are black(Ken loves this feature (Ken has almost killed Scratch for knowing about Mels blood)))

Scratch follows Mel around like an annoying dog, EVERYWHERE. She's always superstitious someone's gonna try to hurt her, to a faulty degree. The two are somewhere between friends and lovers, with Scratch being pretty infatuated and Mel being her normal horny self, I basically saw that scene of Mel looking at tits and said aw yeah, Scratch would make her girl boner go CRAZYYY. Scratch and Mel are a great fighting duo, since Scratch is moving cover (until she's taken too many hits) and Mel is shown in the series to be pretty fuckin skilled.

Mel takes advantage of Scratch's oblivious and innocent mindset alll the time. Ken has had to yell at her for asking scratch to steal snacks from a local convenience store for her.
