Bullseye (Lucy Dacus, Hozier) is very tbgb coded

When I'm optimistic about them I mean. Not all the betrayal and dysfunctional anger and classical Greek tragedy levels of dramatics
But like the angst and the grief for what was once a glorious partnership and the loss of what could have been because each sabotage gouged away another piece of love until there was no passion left for anger, and only quiet, all-consuming regret
"I hope you're never fully satisfied" and neither of them will be, because they destroyed each other's chances at a truly successful career and worked together to create such a deep bond, with all of the reliance and none of the trust
"But I wanted to be there the day you figured it all out" and I do think they wanted it to work. not enough, but they wanted it. and to lose a friendship like that would shatter me, and I've never been in government, so I'm sure it destroyed them
"Whoever is, I hope they're proud" and there's the optimism. perhaps they do vaguely, reluctantly, secretly wish each other well.
then again, considering the diaries and the biographies and the rpf analyses, maybe not
actually this is far more nine/rose or thasmin (doctor who) but seeing as my friend's rewatched the nulab revolution docuseries about 7 times in 3 weeks I feel I owe them this
and hopefully they'll take this as their sign to stop rewatching it and get on with s7 of doctor who (targeted)

watched wicked on sunday AND OMG THE THINGS ID DO FOR THIS MAN ‼️‼️‼️

“ What is this feeling?
So sudden and new?
I felt it the moment
I laid eyes on you
My pulse is rushing
My head is reeling
My face is flushing
What is this feeling?
Fervid as a flame
Does it have a name?
Yes
Loathing feeling absolutely fucking down bad ”

“ I can lick it, I can ride it while you slippin' and slidin'
I can do all them little tricks and keep the d**k up inside it
You can smack it, you can grip it, you can go down and kiss it
And every time he leave me 'lone, he always tell me he miss it
He want a F-R-E-A-K ”

“Everybody loves you, baby
You should trademark your face
Linin' down the block to be around you
But, baby, I'm first in place
Face card, no cash, no credit
Yes, God, don't speak, you said it
Look at you
Skip the application, interview
Sweet like Marabou
Look, look at you
Give me a call if you ever get lonely
I'll be like one of your girls or your homies
Say what you want, and I'll keep it a secret
You get the key to my heart, and I need it
Give me a call if you ever get desperate
I'll be like one of your girls”

u have to be looking at him on the big screen to appreciate his beauty - 1000292929/10 🌟💗

Ollie Reeder is basically canonically bisexual and we don't talk about that enough.
In fact, he doesn't talk about it enough. Season 5 with Ollie plotting elaborate takedowns with his politician boyfriend when??? Like come on, we've seen his be morally bankrupt, now I need him being morally bankrupt and successful. He's got a history of failing relationships with members of the opposition, I think we could work with that. I mean personally I could totally see him desperately trying to a) slate the shadow chancellor in the press and b) keep the details of his relationship with said shadow chancellor out of the press, whilst watching said relationship fall to explode into pieces and then reform every 30 seconds. Like let him be Machiavellian and evil as a treat pls.
And also stop putting gel in his hair, wth happened to his S1 curls? (I have many thoughts on the narrative clues that can be gleaned from his hair style change but it's far too early in the day for that)
Also shout out to Glenn for that second one, like yes, I do in fact love DoSAC acting like a moderately dysfunctional family that vlogs their awkward family holidays. And for this one:
I know that's vaguely supposed to refer to young, Ollie-esque junior politicians and special advisors but I like to think that they mean DoSAC is like the government equivalent of the theatre society at a local college, in that it functions as an unofficial meet-up for the queer community. On a mostly unrelated note, I also like to think that they put on a play as a department every year, which would be awful but also extremely funny, and (Glenn) someone would write an 8 hour original soundtrack for it every year without fail. Trust me.
Anyway, Ollie and Dan, your semi-secret season 1 relationship will always be real to me.
@rattuswrennus happy Tuesday

"While Mandelson admired Blair, he idolised Brown. Mandelson so pined during separations that he could not hear being on holiday for much more than a day before he started ringing up Brown."
"I love you, but I could destroy you"
"Gordon and me, we're together again"
Peter Mandelson, the man who had been Brown's "closest ally, then his bitterest enemy" and finally his "secret confidant", or the three stages of a dramatic, nearly government wrecking fall-out.
"It's impossible to hate someone that much unless you also love them"
"He who dies for virtue does not perish" - Plautus
Do you think Mandelson weathered every time he self-destructed by holding that in his heart? Do you think he justified betrayal with the reassurance that his friend was dying for virtue? Do you think he realised, in either case, that there was no virtue to be found, only the drawn out fall from power to disgrace?
Probably not.

"Let's not say goodbye"
You know when Yaz realised she was losing the love of her life, and still couldn't bring herself to admit it was ending, because even though she was losing her Doctor, the Doctor would still be there, everywhere in the universe for all of time, so intertwined with the history and existence of Earth that every day she spent on it from that day on she would be surrounded by her memory, having to spend the rest of her life existing on a planet that owes it's very survival to the Doctor, the one person she needs to move on from. Like she owed her life, that is the ability to really live, to her Doctor.
And then she went and got ice cream and stared out at that planet sat next to that person.
Yeah, that was entirely understandable tbh. Jodie Whittaker is hot.
