“So, how was your birthday?” You asked as the clock struck midnight.

“It’s not over yet.” Diavolo grinned. He was pleased to finally have you spend the night at the castle with him. 

“It is, look at the time.” You insisted.

“It’s not tomorrow until we go to sleep, everyone knows that.” Diavolo folded his arms.

“The date on my DDD says November first, sorry. Technology doesn’t lie.” You shrugged.

“So you’re going to stop treating me like it’s my birthday then?” He pouted.

“Hm…” You made a show on considering it although you already knew your answer. “Ok, you get one last birthday wish.” You nodded.

“It should be something valuable then…” Diavolo had only been thinking about one thing during his festivities. “You know, my birthday had started to lose meaning. I’ve had hundreds of birthdays and hundreds of festivals in my honor… but this year it was special, MC.” You listened intently to his words. “For the first time in a very long time I felt like this festival really was about me. That’s all thanks to you.” 

“I’m glad you had a good time.” You smiled although you were unsure of where he was going with this.

“MC… if it’s alright with you,” You watched as pink blossomed on his cheeks, “I’d like to kiss you. That’s my last birthday wish.”

You smiled and pulled him in for a kiss. He was tender and thoughtful, as if he wanted to illustrate his deep love for you. His soft lips mingled with yours for only a few moments. Your eyes met as he pulled away.

“Happy Birthday, Diavolo.” You whispered with a soft smile.
