Experimentation
This was an experiment as i had the idea but wasn鈥檛 sure if it was going to be a good one or not 馃ぃ I still have mixed opinions on this piece as when i held it upto the light i really like it but the piece as it is isn鈥檛 what i had in mind.

Drawing onto a tissue box
This semester I wanted to use recycled materials. This wouldn鈥檛 just help the environment but also i was making use of the materials i had at home with me.
I kept this tissue box as i knew i could take it apart and use the inside.

A4 biro drawing
I decided to add blue and red ink to this biro drawing as i wanted to create a contrast between hot and cold whilst also adding colour, tones and shadows to the piece.
I sort of drew this on at random but used the placements of colour where it felt right too.

I used a cheap white acrylic paint as i knew it wouldn鈥檛 be thick. I wanted the paint to be watery so I could create a foggy effect over the drawing.

10.5 cm x 13.5 cm mixed media
I drew out each portrait individually making each one different. I used small lines and sketches using biro pen and added watercolour paint to create colour and tone.
I wanted to create small studies of the face experimenting with different colours. I wanted to use different colours to add colour to my work as i felt like my work was very dark.
Experimenting with different colours allowed me to play with colours that complimented eachother and colours that didn鈥檛 go together.

Jenny Saville
Jennifer Anne Saville born 7th May 1970 is a contemporary British painter and an original member of the Young British Artists. She is known for her large-scale painted depictions of nude women. Saville has been credited with originating a new and challenging method of painting the female nude and reinventing figure painting for contemporary art. Saville works and lives in Oxford, England.

I really like Savilles use of colour in her portraits. I would like to use this colour palette in some of my own work.

A4 Biro Drawing
Using blue and red biro i created this drawing. This wasn鈥檛 successful as it didn鈥檛 have the outcome i wanted.
What i did thing was successful was the print that was left underneath the drawing.

A3 Biro Drawing
I wanted to create a biro drawing that looked like a screen print. As i didn鈥檛 get chance to do any screenprinting i wanted to create work that mimicked the screen print process.
Using black and red biro i created this over lapping portrait. i wanted to use these colours as they contrast really well and they create the overlapping process well. This piece is one of my most successful pieces because i really like the overall outcome. When looking at this piece i want the viewer to feel the movement that i created in the image.
When i finished the drawing i got this on the piece of paper behind

In my garden shed at home I found an old kitchen tile that was going to get thrown away so i decided to keep not really knowing what to do with it. I painted it white so it was just like a normal canvas.
