finished batman knightquest or whatever its called, but i finished the first volume so 2 more left. genuinely tim is such a good robin. and its so interesting. everything is so sad bc batman gets so burnt out and idk, batman’s so human?? and it had a lot to do w batman’s humanity and tim preserving it and it’s such a yummy characterization.
skipped ahead of the run and read like the one part dick becomes batman. the characterization on that is very good. tim still beats people up but very analytical? he researches a lot then sends batman to the locations he suspects stuff is happening at.
also bane is downright terrifying and im surprised he gets portrayed so lightly?? anyway some highlights and parts i enjoyed the most.
harvey dent is also super sad but not gna forgive him for what he did to my boy dick.

I LOVE HOW IT CAPTURES RHEIR PEESONALITIES OMGG
This edit makes me emotional for some reasons idk. I always want to see Superman and Batman bonding through their loneliness and shared experiences even with their wildly different personalities. They’re both selfless beyond reason, to the point when they won’t hesitate to take fatal beatings for the greater good. From what I see, these movies put their heroism front and center without sacrificing their humane qualities.
They’re cool on their own, but they’ll be more unique together because they complete each other.

I see a lot of fanon-y posts about rogues having a soft spot for the Batkids and kind of looking out for them, especially Harley and Ivy since they're completely defanged now, but all of that truly pales in comparison to whatever Lady Shiva has going on with Tim.
"I respect your moxie, kid. someday when you're an adult let's fight to the death." they're fascinating.

is jason todd well written? no, not really. but do his writers bring aspects of his time as robin through to red hood? uh, also no. but do his comics have a coherent narrative thread besides violence? nope! but does he have agency and get to be a driving force in his own stories? eh... but! do his writers bring attention to the classist issues that he would be a perfect vehicle for! still no! but, crucially, does he at least get to tell his own side of his story and give a voice to all the hundreds of joker's victims? well... uh.... but is he hot?
sometimes 👍

When Dick was a teenager and at odds with Bruce, he tried to get a piercing as a form of rebellion. He heard from his friends that their parents totally flipped, so he got himself an earring.
Blue, gaudy, and bedazzled.
When he showed up to the manor with it, he made sure to strut in front of Jason and pretend he didn’t care that his little brother was practically fawning over how cool he looked.
The moment Bruce came into the room, Dick was expecting a huge confrontation and a yelling match, like his friends had all said would happen.
Instead, Bruce lit up and smiled at Dick before leaving the room in a hurry.
Jason and Dick exchanged confused glances before Bruce came back holding a picture and beaming proudly.
The picture is of teen Bruce with a whole bunch of piercings, looking like an ethereal vampire. Snake bites that made it look like he had fangs, industrial, lobe, septum, bridge, etc. Just a lot.
The boys are slack-jawed at their Dad looking like that while Bruce is fondly telling him about all the piercings he had and how he wished he had more, but Alfred wouldn’t let him
“I also had a belly piercing. Ollie convinced me to get that one back at boarding school.” Bruce said wistfully, reminiscing about his intense goth era when he didn’t have to worry too much about public perception.
Dick is mortified because for more than half a second he actually thought his Dad was super cool again. Jason is ooh-ing and awe-ing at the picture.
When Dick does back his apartment, he considers taking the piercing out and letting the hole close up, but he feels slightly bad since Bruce was trying to connect with him.

You can take the kid out of the circus not the circus out the kid

Bruce looks so funny at the first panel and Dick like "so what :^"
