"how can m/f ships be good-" first of all through the power of bisexuality anything is possible so write that down. second of all if we start othering ships based on gender and nothing else we're no better than the opposition. third of all you need to watch more addams family

“First and foremost I’m writing for myself,” I hiss through my teeth, resisting the urge to refresh my email for an Ao3 message for the 100th time.

This is the synopsys of the Devil May Cry, Vergil x Original Female Charachter with link to AO3. I hope you enjoy!
"Maya never expected to even be his friend. Vergil never expected that he would need one. Neither even expected that there could be more than the quiet reluctant friendship they slowly form."
After the events of DMC5 Vergil chooses solitude over salvation, hidding away in a corner of the world where no one knows him. Where no one would look for him. But there in the quiet bookshop and the woman who tends it he is surprised to find that maybe the self-exile he imposed on himself isn't as much of a prison anymore. Told in three acts- Word, Body, Soul- this is descent into pain, guilt and the slow relearn how to be alive again. It is not a love story. But a study of one.
Or where Vergil has to fight not only his demons, with the taste of blood still on his tongue but also this infuriating woman that smells of cherries and vanilla.

I know the whole "deadbeat dad" and "child support" are huge memes for Vergil, but hindsight for Vergil...
He never knew he was a dad.
He didn't know a possible one night stand resulted in Nero's conception. He was 18-19 years old and was long gone from Fortuna by the time Nero was born. He probably never even saw the mother pregnant before he left.
I genuinely believe if he knew of Nero's existence, he would've been a present father in his life. If he knew he accidentally got a woman pregnant, I feel like he would've stayed in Fortuna. Or he wouldn't have strayed far from Fortuna. The Temen Ni Gru may not have been raised, Nelo Angelo may have never existed, V and Urizen may have never existed, Vergil may have found a new purpose in life other than chasing after Sparda's power in vain.
I don't think he would've changed personality wise, but he may have not made as many stupid decisions as he did knowing he had a child looking up to him. He was impressed by Nero's power when he first fought him. Vergil's got over a decades worth of training behind him, and Nero was able to overpower him at such a young age. I like to imagine Vergil would've loved to train Nero himself. Nero is so powerful on his own, can you imagine if he was trained directly by a son of Sparda?
And even though Vergil didn't know about Nero for over 20 years, you can tell he cares about his son. It feels as if his attitude changed towards Nero after he found out Nero was his son. His baby. His child. While they'll still strangers, he left a book he's been very possessive of since childhood with him. As a reminder they have unsettled business. As a reminder he's coming back for him. Maybe to fight, maybe to talk, or a little bit of both.
But definitely a reminder he now knows he has a son waiting for him on the other side.

Argentea Silentia: Studium Verbi, Corporis Et Animae
This here is a snippet of the fanfic I started writting because, God help me, I am simply obsessed with this man.
The soft sound of the bell chimes fills the whole bookstore as the door opens. It's a weekday so it's been slow the whole day and early afternoon sun is sliding through the open blinds and playing on the wooden floor- just before 2pm, so even before Maya turns around she's almost certain it's him. And it is. Black coat, collar high around his neck, frost-bitten stare and unmistakable white hair-unnatural and otherworldly. Her favourite customer. Not that he knows or that she'll tell him. He walked into the bookstore for the first time 2 months ago and went straight to the metaphysical, philosophical&theoretical section, ignoring her greeting, walking with so much confidence and purpose as if he owns the place. Sadly, she doesn't remember which book he bought then. Since then he's been here every few days.A week up most, but never longer, buying book after book, always from that shelf. Once, just once, stopping in front of the poetry, eyes grazing over the titles like a hand afraid to touch. With time, visit after visit, he became part of the scenery-the small space crowded with far too many books, the paintings hanging over the vintage wallpaper, the three high chairs by the counter where customers could sit to read, have a coffee or just have a chat with her. And him, the soft warm lights catching in his hair, bouncing off his uninterested stare. It would be a lie if Maya said she wasn't already so used to his presence that she awaited every other visit with an eagerness that scared her just a little bit. Now as he enters he says nothing. He never does, never greets, never says "goodbye" or "have a nice day" as if he's above pleasantries. "Back so soon?" But Maya is nothing if not stubborn and persistent and around two weeks ago she was finally able to crack him open to little conversations. "You're eating through my collection faster than I'm able to stock up." He looks at her, pale blue eyes betraying nothing, head slightly tilted to the side. That's his version of response and Maya loves it so much she chuckles. "Let me guess- Kierkegaard again?" "It was Hegel." He answers after a long pause, voice deep and deliberate. "You were wrong." Maya gasps loud both because she loves being dramatic for no other reason than to be dramatic (she'll get under his skin someday(at least enough to finally learn his name) and truly impressed that he produced more than three words out of his mouth not because she made him but out on his own volition. However, she doesn't comment on that, she wouldn't want to scare him away after all. "Oh, no!" She says instead, tone mockingly apologetic, hands grasping her chest. "Did I offend your tragic scholar sensibilities? You'll have to banish me to the shelves!" To this he doesn't answer. Just looks at her for a moment, at her cherry red hair, a mess of curls and her smile-a little wild. Then he picks his book, a small tome and walks to the counter setting it down so she can scan it and next to it the money he owes for it. The exact amount as always. Maya laughs when she sees the tittle. "Man's search for meaning" by Frankl. "Damn" she says, "that one is actually hopeful. You sure you're okay?" His look is all ice. But like...in a loving way. Or so she prefers to think. "I am simply expanding my range." "Careful, Robert, with that rate I'll be expecting a romcom next week." His brows furrow briefly before his usual expression-full of stoicism-comes back on.
"I don't read fiction." He says and takes the book, sliding it in his pocket. "And my name is not Robert." He speaks the words a little slower, a little soft, as if he is speaking to a child and even though Maya is impressed deeply by the fact that he shows any kind of humour she might or might not also take a little offence in that. "Well, David, if you'd actually told me your name it would be easier for both of us." Her voice is honey but it holds a little sharpness to it now. "And also-you are lying- I've seen you stray to the poetry, you just want to hide that soft spot in you." She leans in on the counter, chin propped on her hand as his eyes narrow ever so slightly at her-if she blinked she would've missed it but still she can't say if he's offended or amused by her accusation of-god forbid!-softness. Perhaps both. Then, with nothing more to say, he just turns around and starts walking away. Maya scoffs. "Bye, Atticus! See you next week!" The door closes behind him, the bell chime sound-a little lonelier.

Baldur's Gate III Soundtrack DELUXE edition. The idea was to portray all 6 origin characters in the concept of duality - The side that they show to the world vs their inner struggle hidden deep inside.
