Soooooo I just spent the last 48 hours having a BREATHTAKING GALAXY BRAIN EPIPHANY about Good Omens Season 2 and feverishly writing a fuckin16,000 word essay about the incredible magic trick that @neil-gaiman pulled off. 

Yes, it’s long, but I PROMISE your brains will explode. Do you want to know how magic works? Do you want to know what Metatron’s deal is (I’m like 99% sure of this and it’s EXTREMELY FUCKING GOOD)? Ted Lasso through the seasons: Colin Hughes

My partner and I watched all of season 3 this weekend (he hadn’t seen any of it yet, he prefers to binge-watch shows). I enjoyed watching each one as it came out, but watching them all together really made the story arcs more cohesive to me. I took some notes about the themes of home and growth and relationships, and we talked a lot about it in between episodes and after.

And then, the finale. Again, watching it right after all the others made a difference, as well as knowing what was going to happen. My feelings on the finale did change a bit; I don’t love it, but I dislike it less. Haha. I feel less like the story has a tragic ending and more like this is just a sad interlude for Ted specifically. He needed some time at home. Maybe it’ll be what he needs to get out of his depressed funk. The future is, of course, uncertain, but I think chances are good he’ll go back to Richmond before too long.

I made an off-hand comment awhile back in the AFC Richmond discord about how “if” Ted went back to America, the potential for long-distance pining between him and Trent was huge. I realize now I wasn’t ready for how painful that idea truly is lol… be that as it may, I am very much looking forward to the pining fics now. Future fics and post-series fics have always been some of my favorites in any fandom, and they will be especially cathartic in this case, I think.

I had been a little afraid the finale had ruined the entire show for me, but I’m glad that giving myself a little time and a different perspective brought me back around to enjoying the characters and possibilities, if not the canon endings themselves. I’m glad to be a part of the fandom community here too and have really been appreciating everyone’s meta and reaction posts.

Also. Can I just say, the fact that we never met Trent’s daughter is absolutely criminal. I think that's the only thing I will continue to be mad about forever.
