Youtube
Tumblr media
YouTube has defined itself as a platform where any of its users can upload content for the audience and the viewers. The YouTube audience is certainly anywhere from children to adults, as the content is so varied on this mass media platform. The site looked misguided in 2005. The website had some pretty basic functions including tabs leading to one’s profile, direct messages, uploaded videos, favorited videos, and a homepage that prompted for a screen name and password.
What characterized YouTube from 2006 to 2009 was that its videos may actually be rated on a scale of 1 -5 stars as against the present thumbs up or thumbs down system. Also, during the time, there was a tab on the homepage resulting in a “community” section of the website. It seemed that within the primary five years of its existence YouTube tried to define itself by its commitment to promoting community values.
In 2010 and 2011 YouTube was primarily marked by its push for featured videos on its homepage, but it absolutely was still in an experimental phase of determining the way to best integrate featured videos into the homepage interface. In 2011 this was on the homepage of YouTube, showing the foremost popular videos by different genre categories. At now, the foremost popular videos were rather plain with a blank background and obnoxious indigo blue text. In 2012 YouTube really evolved by allowing users to feature channels to their homepage to look at with easy reference. The 2012 YouTube homepage had an awfully clean layout with an expanded menu of options and straightforward filter mechanisms.
In 2013 YouTube’s homepage began to really resemble what the homepage seems like today. There are plenty more options when it involves YouTube in 2013 and this is often made apparent with the links to music, gaming, sports, news, tv shows, etc. The very clean layout and transition to a lighter blue text create a more modern look to the web site at this phase of its development.
The layout of YouTube’s homepage remained pretty consistent from 2014 to 2015. Both years YouTube had a primary featured video supported by related videos and a bunch of recommended channels with engaging red and white “Subscribe” buttons.
As may be seen the homepage of YouTube has recommended channels, however, it has upgraded to offering multiple videos by those recommended channels in a very more targeted manner than before. The continuation of the big featured video on the homepage attracts attention and offers users a rapid glimpse into trending video content.

How to Avoid Social Media Effects
Tumblr media
1. Set a time limit.
If you spend two hours each day on social media, try cutting that time in half. You may be surprised to find that even when you set a limit that’s as seemingly drastic as halving the time you usually spend online, you won’t notice the difference. We tend to fall easily into mindless browsing mode with endlessly refreshing content on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. There’s no getting to the “end” of the updates.
Use some apps that let you schedule and classify different blocks of time in your day when your computer is able to access social media sites, so you’re reducing the number of times you get interrupted.
2. Change the way we use social media.
When we spend more time comparing ourselves to others and feeling envy, accepting former partners as social media friends, posting frequently (especially with negative updates), and becoming obsessed with our virtual identity, social media can have a very negative impact on our lives.
Social media can also be a great way to access mental health resources, which in turn can have a positive effect on your wellbeing. Every time you end up on a social platform, ask yourself: What am I doing here? What is the purpose of this social media visit?
3. Establish news sources outside your social feeds.
It’s common today for us people to get our news from social feeds. Having one source for our social interactions and news online may seem convenient, but it means that we can get distracted from our attempts to stay informed. When you separate your news sources from your social feeds, you reduce the likelihood of getting sucked into the abyss of social browsing.

Twitter
What is Twitter?
Tumblr media
Twitter is a social media site, and its primary purpose is to connect people and allow people to share their thoughts with freedom. Twitter allows users to discover stories regarding today's biggest news and events, follow people or companies that post content they enjoy consuming, or simply communicate with friends. Additionally, PR teams and marketers can use Twitter to increase brand awareness and delight their audience.
In 2006, Jack Dorsey, co-founder of Twitter, had an idea -- he would create a SMS-based communications platform in which friends could keep tabs on each other by updating statuses. In the beginning, Twitter was an idea all-too-similar to texting.
The idea evolved, in large part due to brainstorming sessions with Dorsey's co-founder, Evan Williams.
On March 21, 2006, Jack sent the first tweet, which read -- "just setting up my twttr."
Twitter saw explosive growth at the 2007 South By Southwest Interactive conference, during which more than 60,000 tweets were sent. The Twitter team took advantage of the conference to begin growing their user base.
Twitter began as an SMS-based platform, so the 140 character limit was initially simply a necessity -- mobile carriers imposed the limit, not Twitter.
However, as Twitter grew to become a web platform, they kept the limit simply because it aligned with Twitter's brand -- Twitter is a platform that aims to create highly skimmable content for our tech-heavy, attention-deficit modern world.
Twitter has grown exponentially over the past 10+ years. Its purpose is ultimately to spread information fast -- while that information is not always serious (Kim Kardashian's thoughts on makeup, for instance), it sometimes is (like when Iranian protesters used Twitter to assemble marches).

Corona Virus Outbreak
Tumblr media
The announcement of the first coronavirus death in the Philippines
The government officials who faced the cameras and delivered the news, looked exhausted as they tried to explain the situation to the public and answer the questions from journalists.
Health Secretary Francisco Duque III had announced that there were two cases last Thursday
"The health department is assuring the public that all measures needed to contain the spread of the virus are being strictly implemented and followed," Duque said, adding that the hospital where the patient was taken had “implemented rigorous infection control protocols while caring for these patients.
Four other people are awaiting the results from their tests, while 24 had tested negative as of late Sunday.
The Philippines is the first country outside China to record a coronavirus death, which has sent shockwaves through Metro Manila - a city with a population of 12.8 million - and raised questions about government transparency and its ability to deal with the infection.
