How about that stubbornly clogged tube of glue? Grrr!
You were good, you bought the little tube with the reclosable lid. But now that youv'e used it once before, the tube is dried shut! How rude of that tube! Do you contribute to the landfill and just toss it in the trash? No! You can protect the environment and your pocketbook by trying these tips against that stubborn tip!
Tumblr media
Screw it! If you have glue around the house, you probably have a spare screw laying around too. Take a spare screw and your screwdriver and literally screw the screw right into and through the tip of the dried glue.
Warning! don't be a caveman, thinking you can just thrust the screw through the dried glue. It will literally stay right where it is, making a monkey out of you. Instead, screw the screw through the glue.
Now, take a pair of pliers... what, you don't have pliers in the junk drawer in the hallway? Go to the hardware and get pliers, lol! Now, grasp the screw by the head and pull the screw out through the dried glue. It'll probably make a big enough gouge in the glue that you'll be able to use it again!

Congratulations, you just saved yourself from buying more glue! What? You say it didn't work? We all have that let-down occasionally. Try it again. OK, fine, it's still clogged? Don't fill the land-fill yet, we have another idea!
When you lock your keys in the car, don't you try the back door? You can do the same thing with this rude glue!
Tumblr media
Take some kitchen shears... what's that? You need to take another trip to Walmart? Hehehe. Tools - we need quite a few to conquer the stubborn glue! Sever the corner of the crimp edge of your rude glue and voila! The glue, it cometh forth! Now that you have gone this far, I presume you still don't want to throw away the rest of the tube of perfectly fine glue. How do you preserve what's left? I'm glad you asked.
Hoping that you have a hacksaw and a scrap piece of PVC pipe rolling around the tool box, stick it in the vice so you won't get injured as easily.

Make a slit by making two parallel cuts about 1/4" apart. Now at this point we are vaguely aware of why we needed not only geometry but fractions in school. Bravo, yea, us! This piece of slit-cut PVC is your new glue-holder-shut mechanism! Fortunately, we have a pic:

Roll the glue tube over once or twice onto itself and slip a tiny corner of it into the slit-cut PVC glue-holder-shut mechanism

Now throw it in the hallway junk drawer and walk away, knowing how smart and thrifty you are!

So many ideas, so many people, so many years. The tree seems fresh to each of us. Yet there it was, all along.
"Jesus Christ The Same yesterday, and today, and forever." Heb. 13:8
All our doubts and all our emergencies. To each of us so urgent. Jesus sees them all, He weeps with us.
