THE TULIPS by JORGE HERNAIZ
28, March. 2020
At the beginning of this year, the Spanish artist Jorge Hernaiz visited us and worked at our “White wall project” on this massive painting entitle “The tulips”.
Together with the images of Hernaiz work, we would like to share with you what he told us about the inspirations and intentions of his artwork:
“Since I remember I have been painting, always wanting to know, why I do it?
From a very young age they teach us to repeat what they want and do what they send us, every minute we get older we forget the child we carry inside and we are wrapped in ties by the system, my Tulips represents this encounter and its link between the painter and the child.
It is a language that we forget or make us forget, what has led me to inquire again from the root of it.
I wanted to make a series of sheets of paper and crayons that took me very interesting along the way of feeling a little freer using this virtue of being a child again.
Rather, a child who is always with me has to express his feelings with paint, "I do not want to copy anyone's work, nor do I want to reinvent what is already done by other painters", I thought so to overcome the fear of the white canvas that an unscrupulous child has, without really knowing why they are not afraid of what they will say, they know what is done because it is a fun game, only when you become an adult is there a twisting game, THE PAINT.
This is how I wanted to represent the moment of splendor with these Tulips from my beloved Holland.”

BIRD’S EYE VIEW by DOSJOTAS
25, October. 2019
Few weeks back we had the pleasure to host the Spanish artist Dosjotas and support one of his interventions in Amsterdam.
With this intervention entitle “Bird’s eye view”, Dosjotas illustrates us with a metaphorical jail, a reality and stinging fact:
“We live under surveillance. How Orwell predicted in his book "1984" , we live in a technological dictatorship, guarded 24 hours a day, they observe us, our conversations, the places where we go, our tastes, they can know everything about us with little effort and without our permission.
For years we live with CCTV cameras in all cities, only in China it is estimated that there are more than 200 million cameras, with facial recognition algorithms, put by governments, on streets, banks, public buildings, apartment blocks, shopping malls, cameras everywhere, connected to satellites, mobile phones and social networks or the new portable cameras integrated in glasses used by the police, capable of identifying people in front of them. They monitor everything, in schools, the attitude of the students, their level of attention; they control the workers in their posts, analyze people who walk on the street or wait for the subway.
The technological “Big Brother” who sees everything, a mass surveillance system that listens and collects data, turning the world into a 24-hour monitored scenario, "for our safety".”

SHARP by SKOUNT
7, October. 2019
Recently our friend Skount painted these big panels of 2x5 m at “Keep it Fresh projects” studio, to create this big format GIF.
Under the concept of "Sharp" he creates relations, with a symbolic value, between different objects and elements, which as he says, may have a certain relation or cohesion in a literal or metaphorical sense.
“The intellectual acuity can be the key to the knowledge, and to stuck in wisdom can be a dangerous thing”
“As well as a knife can be sharp, a dip-pen (the writing) can be also sharp… “

NEW MOON by PAU QUINTANAJORNET
27, August. 2019
Few weeks ago our friend Pau Quintanajornet sent us these photos of one of her latest projects, this time in Royal Square District in York, Pennsylvania, for Sprocket mural works.
To the creation of this mural Pau’s inspirations are two Rumi quotes that the last couple of years became a way of how she wants to see the world and create her work.
Rumi wrote: You have to keep breaking your heart until it opens - I your light I learn how to love. In your beauty, how to make poems. You dance inside my chest where no-one sees you, but sometimes I do, and that sight becomes this art.
A new lunar phase begins with the appearance of a new moon. From a spiritual standpoint, the New Moon is the perfect time to start fresh. As the first phase of the moon cycle, the New Moon phase holds special meaning for cultures around the world and is often viewed as a symbol of new beginnings. This magical time provides a reset where goals are renewed, desires are set, and new intentions are made.
“New Moon” is Pau love letter to his beautiful cosmic and spiritual body and her ongoing lessons Rumi had shared with her over the years. Mama Moon - was, is and will be her loyal travel companion and reminder that we have to honor our life cycles and celebrate each step of our path with an open heart by letting love rule - always.

WHITE WALL PROJECT BY KERA
27, April. 2019
Last February we had the pleasure to host the German artist Kera, he was working in our studio few days on a new piece for our “White wall project”
Here are some shots of the stunning piece that Kera created and a RGB light projection post production over his artwork, using a Graphics Interchange Format to create a color loop animation.
The artist Christian Hinz aka “Kera”, born 1985 in Berlin, has been working with colour, printing techniques, and designing and painting facades for more than 20 years now.
His artistic work is geometric and abstract, but at the same time spacial. Thereby, graphics and aesthetics play a big role. The artwork is driven from a combination of capturing his surrounding in connection with its colours, as well as impulses taken from the artist love for haptic and technical things.
Kera`s work is highly impacted by his graphic design studies and the passion for straight lines, structure and surface. Whereas, the longstanding use of spray paint, brushes and wall paint helped him develop his own style.
Murals and “Kunst am Bau” (art on architecture) projects can be found worldwide, from Qatar, over Mexico to Great Britain and in many more European spots. The artist has also been and will be represented by galleries and art fairs, for which he painted on canvas or formed objects, representing his style in a compact and more detailed way.
Since 2012, Kera works as freelance artist, and can now even pass on his fascination and passion for printing techniques as a lecturer at the “Jugendkunstschule Berlin-Steglitz”.

BLOOMING CONSCIOUSNESS
22, December. 2018
Last November our friend Skount created this intervention at our A&L Boulevard project.
He painted a mural which depicts the flowering of the consciousness of the individual, thanks to a perception more spiritual of the outside.
Locke defined consciousness as "the perception of what passes in a man's own mind". Introspection is often thought to deliver one's primary knowledge of one's mental life. But this introspection is always conditioned by external factors of the individual, it is when the individual has a wider knowledge of their environment, transcending the physical, can reach a higher state of consciousness, in the inner self.

WHITE WALL PROJECT BY BLAQK
5, November. 2018
During the days that the artist duo Blaqk spent with us, they also created this amazing mural installation at our “White Wall project”.
Mixing Greg’s organic forms and lines with Simek’s geometric and systematic shapes, they created this harmonic configurable art piece. Also using a Graphics Interchange Format, they created a loop animation giving more complexity and dynamism to their piece on the digital sources, creating on that way, another language or perception of their body of work.

LUNAR EFFECT
17 October. 2018
Few weeks ago our chilean friend Unonueve was invited by KolorCubes, to paint this mural in Kassel, Germany.
Since ancient times the moon symbolizes the closure of a cycle - the culmination and output of a rising moon. This phase reflects the wholeness and stands for the moment of truth - your most important decisions - the outcome of your projects and showing yourself inside out. Its the time to confess our feelings and connect with the universe.
This mural painted in Kassel , Germany represents that closure - the artist personal "coming full circle" by learning from past travels and preparing himself for next ones to come.
“Big shout out to all the guys at Kolorcubes and my paint colleague Pau , who have been an important pillar for making this project happen - despite all the difficulties which crossed our way we achieved our goal with lots of work and as a team.”
