Now what? John's curiousity got the best of him as he regarded the dark-haired boy. He crossed his arms and smiled.

Jeremy smirked and raised his eyebrows. You have to actually be good at the subject. He said teasingly, before laughing and shaking his head. I have a photographic memory. So I read books on the subject and I’ll always remember it.

John appeared briefly offended. They've said I'm a genius in math. One hundred percent consistently. I'm faster and better than all of my professors, and they've tried to get me moved to higher classes but the board won't let them. He said simply, I'm not great at english or anything, but math and sciences I've got. He smirked.

I've wanted to do that with math so much. Does it actually work? John asked, intrigued. He would love to not have to go to math. It would be the best part about this damn school.

Oh, so you’re a smart one? John laughed slightly, You know how I get by? I stay quiet. Do my work and don’t speak up. It’s easiest, rather than correcting the teacher everytime they do something wrong. Much to John’s dismay, he was quite skilled in a few areas, so much so that he was far more advanced than the teachers. Such a maths, for example. He’d never had a single problem with it. 

Jeremy looked at the boy. Like, actually looked at him, studying his expressions and mannerisms. His head was tilted to the side slightly and his own expression was puzzled. After a moment, he quirked a smile. Well that seems dreadfully dull. He held out his hand. Jeremy.

Johnathan. But you can call me John. He took the boys hand, shaking it firmly. It is dull, but at least I'm not running down hallways from teachers. He smirked, And I still do well in school.

Jeremy had nearly fallen to the ground as well, but steadied himself before he did. Help me hide! He said quickly, looking around to see the teacher catching up. He wasn’t too far away. Please, I’m begging you!

O-Okay! John stumbled to his feet, grabbing the boys hand and pulling him into a side hallway, where he stuffed him into a slightly darkened hidden passageway behind a tapestry. When he’d gone inside after the boy, he put the tapestry back in it’s place. What are you hiding from? He hissed.

Jeremy leaned across John, pointing at the teacher who ran past the tapestry. Him. He whispered, turning to look back at the boy who had saved him. He was trying to take me to class. He let out a shudder as if he couldn’t believe someone would dare try to make him learn.

And what is so bad about class? John asked, a small smirk on his lips. This boy seemed rather spoilt. A little odd, too. He regarded him with curiousity.

Even when she knew Nick was speaking to Dominic, Charli remained silent, hands folded in front of her, eyes downcast. Chewing her lip, she thought of Lucas, unfortunately. She'd only ever wanted to be happy with him. How was she supposed to find a way to be happy with someone else?

Charli remained still, her eyes cast downward. She pushed back her tears of frustration and pain and loss. She just wished she could wake up from the nightmare she was in. Have Lucas with her and have Dominic be real so that Nick wasn’t in so much pain. Then it would all be okay.

Nick took a step forward, his eyes glossing over with tears. Dominic, I don’t think I can do this. Not without you… He muttered, watching as the illusion of Dominic flickered.

Dominic shook his head, looking Nick straight in the eyes. Nick, Charli is right. You’re strong, you can do this. You can live without me, I know you can. You’ve done it before, and you were happy.

Nick kept running for a moment, but stopped when he heard Charli’s cries. He spun around, barely able to see through his tears. It’s all a lie, Charli. Dominic isn’t real, I made him up. I can’t do this.

You can do this, Nick. You're so unbelievably strong. You don't have to give up. You'll be perfectly fine. Charli stood there with her hands balled into fists, frustrated that there was no way for her to make Nick see it.
