Me casually thinking about the final straw for Kaufmo abstracting was probably nobody genuinely laughing at his jokes when he needed it most

(Not blaming anyone specifically/it’s no one’s fault really. It’s the effects of the Digital Circus from loneliness and a desire to escape. But still)

I’m thinking Pomni is the main character of The Amazing Digital Circus for a reason.

She’s a new arrival and a refreshing presence. She’s come to understand Kinger and potentially saved Gangle from abstracting. She’s something special that could be the key to everyone making it out of the digital world in one piece.

I also feel Caine is a tragic AI programmed to create amazing adventures and totally glitches out if he senses his guests aren’t happy. I think Zooble may have a sense of that being the case from their “therapy” session.

I’ve heard people say newer technology wears and tears more easily as compared to older technology, and they’re right. It’s all about companies making money.

Anybody else have a growing fear of updating their tech cuz everything seems to be getting worse and worse

I always knew Jax was an asshat for a reason, but I thought he was just simply a troll. Why would he genuinely care for people he’d never met in real life and care about consequences when it’s a digital world? Then Ragatha implied that he had a friend or even more friends who abstracted 🙃

He and Ragatha both represent each extreme of coping: one is a bully while the other is forcibly positive. Both are unhealthy. Being a jerk is incredibly hurtful and psychologically damaging to others while toxic positivity can be invalidating to valid negative emotions.

I like to think that Pomni’ll be a positive influence for Jax instead of “fresh meat”

The ending scares me though. Ragatha needs an arm linked buddy who’ll never leave her alone. 🙃

Though I like the idea of low stakes adventures, like, there’s nothing wrong with slowing down the pacing. It can leave a lot of room for character development and lore.

I like how Maomao isn’t assuming that Suirei and Loulan are taking a part in the rebellion willingly. There’s the factor that they’re just victims of circumstance under the Shi clan leadership including all the kids and innocent villagers.

Is it me or is it in Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition, the story takes an agonizingly long time to get even remotely interesting and the writing for the characters falls flat and isn’t executed well? It’s extremely hard for me to really care about anyone in the game

I keep playing it because of the character customization being so rich mainly, and the voice acting is great

So no one knew/remembered what the previous emperor looked like when he was young? He was swapped with the real imperial brother at birth, but people gossiped that he didn’t look like either of his “parents” and believed he was an illegitimate child.

I’ve recently gotten into Xenoblade Chronicles The Definitive Edition

This game is lucky I’ve loved jrpgs as a child to have the patience to endure the length of the campaign before it starts to get really interesing

Why are Alvin and Lorintha acting so sus? Why is Zanza sus?

So far in the manga, anime, Hoshina’s day off, and the light novel, Kafka has had self inflicted tummy troubles.

I like the anime adaptation of Kaiju No 8 over the manga. That says something about the direction and the production. The manga still has the benefits of giving us insight to the author’s intentions. For instance, he wrote that he’s attracted to women with a knack for combat. So he’s not writing women like Kikoru or Mina for the sake of the strong female character.

Spike Spiegel once said: I love the kind of woman that can kick my ass.

Just read the second volume of Kaiju No 8 and the first chapter of the light novel and I’m

I’m just so in love with Kafka’s and Reno’s dynamic. Kafka is the quirky older brother by 14 years who’s just an amazing guy and keeps pushing forward when he’s not physically the strongest in his human form. Reno just respects him so much and keeps addressing him as ‘sir’ and thinks he’s the coolest guy ever.

The older court women being trapped in the rear palace by the previous emperor deliberately erasing Luomen’s medical warnings thus taking their resentment out on the current concubines costing Lihua’s first born his life and nearly killed Gyokyou’s daughter. That’s pretty fucked up.

I read volume 1 of the Kaiju no 8 manga

The anime is such a phenomenal adaptation and adds more layer and depth 💕

Watched Kaiju No. 8 recon and Hoshina’s day off

I can reaffirm Kafka, Reno, and Hoshiro Hoshina are the best characters out of the cast, and I watched all of season 1, too. Everyone else I feel has more room to be fleshed out.

Me and my bestie had a conversation about “if she’s not a damsel in distress, she’s the opposite extreme” when it comes to writing women in leading roles. I had to think really hard about Kiroku. At the very least, the suit mechanic and her perfectionist upbringing make it work. Like, women don’t need to be outwardly tough and like “‘men” to be strong women.

Kaiju No. 9 showed she’s not an invincible powerhouse. And she’s open to having back up to efficiently kill Kaiju.

I hope Hoshina’s Day Off appears on Crunchyroll so I can rewatch it though. ;a;

I finished watching season 1 of kaiji no 8. Color me impressed with the strong first impression of episode 1. I also wasn’t expecting it to be random and funny as hell either.

I haven’t made up my mind about the rest of the cast, but Kafka and Reno are incredibly great main characters.
