dislike and discomfort are normal and healthy parts of the human experience actually

I think when you correctly identify a trauma that is the base of a woe of yours it should just disappear. It should be like "aaahh. you got me" and vanish and leave 100 dollars behind

once these 15 million different stressful situations resolve themselves I’m gonna be so normal again. I can be normal and not exhausted

i think ive expressed this sentiment before but i love chapter titles so much. i love chapter titles that follow a naming scheme. i love really long chapter titles that start with "in which". i love chapter titles that just plainly state something that sounds unremarkable & you can't tell why it's important until you read the chapter. i love chapter titles.

I find it very offensive that the more unwell you are, the more things you have to do to maintain your health. Things like following special diets, going to medical appointments, making big and important decisions about what treatments to use. At the same time, the more unwell you are the less energy you have to do all of these extra things. It seems grossly unfair.

*through gritted teeth* the world is GOOD. people are kind. Humans are NOT inheritly selfish. you will make it through this year. recovery is possible. people you don't know yet will love you. You are going to do things you can't even imagine right now. You are going to read a rlly good book. You are going to eat some rlly good food. You are going to experience joy again. Things can get better. Situations can change. You can choose to be kinder. The world can change for the better.

Every so often content from the new films comes across my feed, or a coworker will excitedly talk about their Harry Potter themed nursery/office/party/whatever and I'm violently reminded that the fanfic community, especially the part of the fanfic community that is staying away from the books/films/official merch is abysmally small. Like, some delusional part of me thinks 'yeah! if we all refuse to watch we'll really send a message!', but there are SO many people who have no idea the fandom/fanfic community is here at all that are still going to engage.
And I don't think it's hopeless! I've also seen plenty of people stumble across anti-JKR content and change their own behavior, whether it be watching or spending. And I've seen countless creators advocating for queer/trans organizations and fundraisers, or raise money themselves which is ✨ fantastic ✨ and one of the best things to come of this whole shit show. But damn!
Anyway, reminder not to consume licensed content or buy licensed merch or even share positive posts about filming, and to keep supporting queer/trans creators, community members, and organizations. Even if it's just listening to and lifting your pals.

Shout out to fanfic writers who write their favourite characters into incredibly specific niches like complex academic studies or horse taming or the intricacies of the fashion industry or historical politics just because they love it. I do in fact want to learn about your niche interests disguised as fanfiction, thank you

oops I accidentally separated myself emotionally from everyone to avoid feeling any bad feelings & it worked but at the expense of my sense of connectedness and belonging

its so scary to put yourself out there but a SINGLE message saying "hi i loved what you made it touched me in some way" makes it all worth it 10000%

One of those fandom things that I love is when there’s new characters around and, with the unwavering confidence of an old farmer appraising cattle, fanfic authors take one good look at them, tilt their imaginary hat, and go “Aye. Praise kink, that one. Mighty case of praise kink if I ever saw one.” And everyone else just “aye.”
