can we apply for the egyptian gods and goddesses? or only people who worship them?

𓂀 You can apply for both, yes! The only thing that's a little complicated is Avatars: each god and goddess has one Avatar. If there is a god or goddess that you'd like your character to be an Avatar for and that god or goddess is still available, you can apply for that position. However, if the god or goddess is taken, you must contact the player to see if they have any plans currently regarding their Avatar and if you're able to apply for them. The relationship between the gods and their Avatars is extremely intimate and complex due to how intricate they are in each other's lives. I'm working on a page that'll feature a list of all the gods, their attributes, who their Avatars are, and who their followers are (please note: Avatars don't have to worship their god, much like Marc Spector/Stephen Grant/Jack Lockley being Jewish while being the Avatar of Khonshu in Marvel; my character Nilay is both a follower and Avatar of the goddess Seshat, whereas Nefersekhmet is only a follower of Sekhmet). I plan to have this out soon, but I do ask that everyone do proper research into the Egyptian pantheon to ensure accuracy instead of relying on media like Moon Knight or The Kane Chronicles as resources.

𓂀 Just got back from seeing Superman and guys, the rumours that May could be one of the actresses James Gunn is looking at to cast as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman? I need them to be true. With that being said, I've decided to switch my mascot to May, because we could all use a little more May in our lives. 𓂀 I just shared a couple of Tamino gif packs to the rp's resource blog and I fear that I need to see him here sooo so bad, you guys. Perhaps as Horus? Or maybe as a Medjay for the youngest princess and prince? Maybe as a secret lover for either the princess or prince? A Medjay who is also a secret lover for either of them? A young priest at one of the temples? The possibilities are endless!

𓂀 Good news, everyone: I have created a resource blog to share lists, gifs, pack, and all different kinds of resources of Egyptian and SWANA fcs! So if you've been interested in applying but struggling to find an fc, come check out @kemetresources so that you can find the perfect fc for your character! Just a reminder: while everyone is required to have at least one Egyptian character, and if it's not your first then at least your second, we do allow all kinds of characters and fcs here, especially BIPOC. So please don't be shy or worried; I'm sure your characters would be greatly loved here.

𓂀 Having Zeyne's "Asli Ana" on repeat and scrolling through Elyanna's tour diary instagram is really making me want to update my rules so that any SWANA fc, regardless if they're an actor, singer, or content creator or have any resources currently, may be used as an fc and to up the character count so players can apply for three characters from the get-go so that I could use either of those beautiful ladies for another character. What do you guys think? Send me a message to make your voices heard! We've gotten a couple of votes on the poll and so far, having this be a modern-day!Egypt rp is in the lead. 𓂀 Hi Fox, I'm so happy you're interested in joining! Unfortunately, we won't be accepting the Greek pantheon here. As much as I deeply love them, I feel as if the rpc has focused only on them for quite some time and I'm hoping to opening the rpc up to other pantheons, such as the Egyptian pantheon. In the future, I might reconsider allowing gods from other pantheons from the SWANA region to join the group, such as Ishtar, but for right now, we will only be allowing Egyptian gods. I hope that this doesn't deter your interest in joining! I would be more than happy to help you find another god or goddess to choose instead! I was actually thinking of creating a page full of gods as well, if that would help. I can't wait to see your app, my friend!
