I can see the boy in white and Kimono lady as "lost souls" that are trying to escape.

The man in yellow is definitely evil.

I love the idea of recharging and the prison going wobbly because people aren't dying as frequently.

Could it possibly be the man in yellow vs all the other "creatures" and the townspeople are used as CHESS PIECES? And by killing certain characters, it will cause other characters to move in a certain direction? Like a chain reaction sort of deal? The story walker aka, Julie, who has some protection is a queen piece while Jim is a pawn. Sacrificed to protect the queen.

Maybe it's a story book- chess game hybrid.

Or maybe it's a game of 3 way chess. The man in yellow vs the creatures vs the townspeople.

The monsters are there killing people and making them suffer to keep giving it power. Its a recharge.

Things are changing because people have stopped dying as frequently. The prison is going a bit wobbly around the edges.

Which would mean that the man in yellow is the one who planted the talismans and why it was so important kimono lady bring smiley back.

That doesnt explain why he went after Jim unless he was doing it to get to someone he -for whatever reason - cant touch. Julie was right there - not present Julie but future Julie who may have more answers and been more of a problem

But if Ethan was right and a story walker has some manner of protection then MiY had to go after someone close to her.

Her mom is Miranda is someone connected to the original prison so shes safe. Ethan is protected by *something*.

Jim though. Jim is a spare tire.
