I can’t wait for my baby to be yours. I’m so happy with how this EP is turning out, because I’m experimenting, learning, and truly enjoying the process. The first time I decided I wanted to make an album was about five years ago. Since then, I’ve spent that time improving myself and growing as an artist. Now I feel ready to share my art. I know I’ll never be perfect or as good as some other artists, but there will be someone out there who can appreciate what I do, right? This is why I create: to find my people. Sum WIP. My sister came back from her vacation yesterday and brought me some ribbon and lace as a gift + the cover of a book I’ve been writing for a lifetime. I’m even thinking about making little pixelated animations for my song lyrics. I never stop, lmao. (Cruelty free!)

Not to necessarily defend Hayden, BUT what Lana Del Rey did was SO, SO, SO immature. Girl, if it’s something that bothers you so much that you’d pick and write a song about it, you could just write to this person privately and ask for an apology. This is so dumb. Also, I think it might be true that Hayden said bad stuff about Lana and her body, but it is VERY clear that Hayden has or at least had an ED, and people with an ED often talk badly about other bodies. Not to excuse this shitty behavior, but still. Also, Lana said “I didn’t even know who Ethel Cain was…” and that this happened a few years ago. Why bring it up now, and in the way she did? Simply because Lana HATES so much when she thinks an artist comes from her art, from what she created, from the aesthetic she “created” and that they have success. What she doesn’t see is that she didn’t create Ethel Cain, Hayden and her traumas did. Lana is a storyteller; Hayden lived that shit.

My EP is a long, sad descent into solitude. It represents my childhood and some of my traumas but above all, the heartbreak of being alone. I deeply love this project, even though I know it won’t be for everyone. The next one, however, will lean more towards a pop vibe ;)
