HAPPY NEW YEAR !! This is a little New Year post, 

Just me wanting to give thanks to every single one of you that I have written with, over the years, months, weeks and days. Those of you who are just now starting a writing journey with me as well. No matter how long or short you stay I want you all to know that I have appreciated just being able to write or even have to the honor of being able to witness your writing.  Writing and being able to create stories and fun scenarios with all of you has gotten me through some of the toughest days. It means a lot to be given the chance.  

For the 2020 my hope is for you all to struggle less, to smile more, laugh more, and be able in your lives outside of all this fun have peace. We come on here to share together something we love in common, but that doesn’t mean we should forget we’re all trying to make it through day by day.  Don’t ever hesitate to reach out to me for anything, talking, writing, watching things together. Just about anything and I will be here for all of you just like you have been here in your own ways for me.

Keep your heads up. You’re going to tackle this year as best you can.

☼┊”Well, our time together has definitely been dramatic,” he laughed.

Minho didn’t really know why this specific event had to be done at this time of the year. They had all year long to go searching together, but as always, Kibum won over with reasoning ( or, with force; Minho clearly didn’t have a choice when the other’s mind was made up ). Although the outing was out of place with the seasons, it was long overdue, and Minho was just as excited to be there.

Despite Kibum’s restless mocking against his oh-so-flowerful phrase, he was smiling from ear-to-ear. Rainy Seocho-gu happened to be such a lovely place, and a part of Seoul Minho hadn’t ever been before. Unsurprisingly, the area was filled with elderly.

“Wow,” he muttered as he entered, long umbrella having been stomped at it’s tip to rid itself from water droplets before he did so. The first thing to catch his eye was the entire section of little cacti, but his attention was, instead, taken by beautiful magnolias. “You want that one? You’ve already decided? Let’s look around, more, though,” he insisted with a soft laugh, free hand resting on the other’s shoulder as big eyes glanced around once more. Minho didn’t remember the last time he had been in a flower shop, or if he ever had been.

It was quick, but Minho did happen to catch the little petal that took a graceful cascade onto the ground. “Don’t think they’re necessarily in need of an excited Kibum, either,” he mused, arm wrapping around Kibum’s shoulder to drag him from the crime scene.

“The exhibit?” he repeated, genuinely surprised. “At the window? Do you think it can survive there?” he wondered. It wasn’t a bad idea, but he figured they should ask about the environments some of these plants were able to withstand, especially with the cold season and lack of sunlight.

“How about a kid that doesn’t have to work so much?” he grinned, eyeing the wall of cacti once again. “Do you think it’d be safe for the boys if we got a cactus?” he pondered aloud, stepping over to inspect them.

`ㅂ´┊“Of course. that’s where all the really special things go... right?”

As rhetorical as the question is, Kibum looks to Minho for an answer he already knows. “Yaaah yaaah. I haven’t, I haven’t. I’m still looking...  You know, it’s hard when they’re all so pretty.” It’s more obvious that Kibum hadn’t thought this through. Not entirely, anyways. He was acting on pure instinct to purchase a plant child- something that’s been on his mind for months now. Of course he’d done his research on not one but many different kinds of plants. Some that needed the sun. Some that were safe for dogs, some that were relatively low maintenance ( in case of overseas schedules ). All signs of his research ( and Minho’s walrus mouth ) had pointed to fall purchasing being a... well, not so great idea for typical house plants. Not even when he’s brushed away from pretty bold colors does he notice the fallen leaf that motivated the taller’s actions.

“These?” He leans into Minho’s side, eying the arrangements of supple succulents arranged in such a way it has him in awe, hand on either side of dewy cheeks as he gasps, stepping closer to anchor himself down to a crouching position. Some doned little blossom hats on their prickly heads while other’s had only their thorns as accessories."Awwwwww! Look at them.... ah! They’re so freaking cute~”  How fond he is translates into the grumble that consumes the term. 

“--... for the kids. I’m worried about that too,” He meshes his lips together pensively, just in time to hush his hum. “I’ll have to train them to stay away, keep it out of their reach. If it’s a small baby like the ones at the bottom, it’ll most likely be out of their reach. But you know- when they see something new they’ll zoom to it, maybe go for the heads since they look like toys.  Something like this, the ‘ball’ cactus,” Hand extended, he makes a loose gesture to the cactis in question, it’s thorny exterior a pending nightmare no doubt.  

“ I have the one with the arms- Saguaro on Keychin. They pose wildly~” He shows off his best cactus imitation, crooked elbows and straightened elbows making up his look.  “If we get one that’s young it’ll take a while to grown arms and get taller- that means we can put it on a table, near a window. They won’t be able to get him.” Although he has his printed totebag at his side, he makes a round around Minho and reaches for his bag instead, a modern backpack, unzipping and rummaging through it.

“Are we allowed to take the hats, too? ”

♥▬ Fixing her hair out of a nervous habit she thought on how to answer his question and pursed her lips before letting a sigh slip through. “Oh I don’t know… I didn’t think it was a big deal…” Kibum was someone easy to talk to so when she confided in him about her night terrors she knew he wouldn’t judge her or pressure her to see someone professionally though knowing him and his personality be probably would that’s why he was great to talk to because he really tells you what you need to hear.

     “I’ll be okay… I just wish I knew what to do about it is all.. I hate medication too…”

`ㅂ´┊ “You didn’t think it was a big deal to have night terrors? Yah, Jinah... that’s no good.” Of course it isn’t. Frown burdens his lips as he can’t keep from expressing his dismay. Sitting beside her makes it easier for him to comfort her, slender hands coming to tuck long brown hair back, behind her ear ( he knew her habits well and her attempt to ‘fix’ her hair had done her no favors ). “I hate it too,” He admits through a pensive tone, “But you can’t just suffer like this. It’s not right.” He’s saying the obvious but the obvious is what he feels people need to know. 

“Usually night terrors happen when you have a lot on your mind, or isn’t getting enough sleep.” He hums to himself, not wanting to leave any stones unturned but in a case of night terrors, there was so many possibilities. "You have to go see someone babe. They might not even medicate you, probably talk it out until you’re feeling better. If they push medication we can find you a new therapist. I can even wait with you in the waiting room if it feels more comfortable that way.”

CHRONICLES OF 2 친구: 식물의

`ㅂ´┊“I feel like I’m in a drama~”

Because they’re doing something cheesy and outdated ( oh and Kibum really loves outdated things more than he loves the circling of rings on his fingers ) somewhere in Seocho-gu.

There, they’re sauntering down a cobblestone ‘flowery path’, the one Kibum had made sure to teases the too tall sunflower about. Before it had been all bark ( snippets of prose, a metaphor for happiness and all that jazz ) but now it’s all bite as carrot cropped hair that’s growing like wild flowers turns left on the path, making a show of the flower path scenery by letting his arms assume a worm-like wiggle as he disappears into the greenhouse, behind bushels of rose hip shrubs.

As soon as he enters there’s a kaleidoscope of flower buds searing into his gaze, their unique aromatics tickling Kibum’s nose and has him lifting a hand to scratch just beneath because his skin is always, always so itchy- moreso in the face of nature. 

“I want one that’s real cute~” He tells the taller as he’s craning over a group of magnolias- they’re white with purple-washed out bellies and purple with white tinted bellies. None are in bloom though, possibly because it’s fall and while Minho had wanted to delay their adventure until next spring, Kibum’s stubbornness had won against the logical claim ( ten points for Kibum ).  “These are pretty,” Dimples dents with a frown as he gently fits a petal between his fingertips, silk like texture encouraging him to caress another. He looks at the other to speak, unbeknownst to him, the first petal he’d touch was currently taking a graceful fall to the ground. “--but they aren’t great for dogs... Hmmm it wouldn’t be near them. I was thinking we could keep the kid- the plant- in the exhibit to purify the air. As a diffuser. A kid with a full time job already!”

There was an involuntary twitch of the eye when Kibum apparently didn’t catch Heechul’s reference that hardcore SHINee fans would be able understand from the get-go. And that brought him to the conclusion: Kim Kibum was not a SHINee fan, or even his own fan at that. But to counter-argue his own point, Heechul and the rest of Super Junior didn’t know majority of their songs too. Perhaps he could let this one slide…

“You do? Then which collaboration of yours got my attention~? I even posted about it for everyone to see. I acclaimed your work, but now, I think I’m planning on revoking it.” It wasn’t like he could actually take back his words. He even had no plan of doing so. It was just fun and amusing to pick on one of his dongsaengs.

“Me? Obsessed! Ha! Don’t make me laugh! My favorite girl groups and celebrities exist for a reason~ Besides, this is just me keeping up with the news. I think your new show happens to be big news?” He shrugged with a sarcastic expression across his visage. “Yah, right after we’ve guested SHINee in Super TV, this is the gratitude I get?” 

And at Kibum’s completely Kibum-esque reaction, a victorious smirk painted his features. “If you add me to the lineup, then you won’t have to feel so much pressure,” he egged on more before finally ceasing his facade and chuckling. “Yah, you’re the one making things awkward for yourself. I’m just having fun~”

`ㅂ´┊So it appears Kibum’s wittier than wit has backfired on him.

The older hadn’t gotten it. Hadn’t gotten that Kibum’s joke was that he, quote: “ had soooo many hit songs and collaborations, it’s hard to keep track” end quote; which was profusely untrue and an oh-so rare attempt of him honking his own horn only for it to backfire ( and not with laughter ). 

Cue him entering the explain-your-own-joke-walk-of-shame. “Yah! Of course I know my own song! ” My own collaboration, he corrects mentally, the latter ( his song ) would come soon. “I was surprised to see you support it so quickly,” He admits, soft nods chasing after his words.

 ‘If You're Over Me’ was his second, but biggest music collaboration so far and Heechul’s swift response to his collaboration without prompt warmed his heart in more ways than he could express and he just has to say, between a sincere smile, “Thank you so, so much for that. I didn’t get to formally thank you like this but... you’ll never know how much it meant to me when I saw your post.  I thought- ‘Ahhh what a supportive hyung,” He mimes looking at his phone back then, holding the invisible device taut as he goes on,  “but why didn’t he get the other hyungs to post it on their SNS too?” He laughs. Less crowesque and more mousesque because all jokes aside he really really did appreciate his hyung’s support ( and the fact that he wanted in on a personal project, 청담키친 ).

"We’ll see okay~ We’ll see~~” Pink tinged lips mesh together with certainty. “Just know--you don’t have to be on Keychin to get me to cook for you. The real Cheongdam kitchen is open 3 days a week. Just let me know when so I can make sure it doesn’t getinto my spa time. You’d get an angry chef then! Tell me something you’ve been craving.”
