sunshinehawke:
Bethany’s tired amber eyes watched as Sten shifted to get himself more comfortable for the stay. She couldn’t think of a response, so instead she just smiled lightly and nodded her head. There was a nagging feeling at the back of her mind that told her to go home if he was staying. Just being near Qunari put her on edge. How could she feel remotely safe falling asleep with one next to her?
Still, her body was exhausted. No sooner had she closed her eyes did she find herself within the fade.
Much like the sleep she had before arriving at the shelter to help Sten, her dreams continued to be fitful. She could barely control the distorted dream that the fade molded for her. Even being asleep she could feel the cold sweat that broke out across her forehead.
However, luckily, it was a short trip to the fade. The feeling of Hannah’s tail smacking against one of her arms jolted her awake. She jumped, her eyes shooting open as she quickly pushed herself up off of the ground, having laid down at some point in her sleep. Still feeling disoriented she swayed as fast, shallow breaths filled her lungs. But her breathing caught in her throat for just a moment when she caught sight of the now awake Qunari, her eyes displaying fear for only a quick moment before shifting them away. She quickly moved her legs away from him and cleared her throat. “I’m sorry” she mumbled groggily.
As the feeling of sleep and the fade slowly drifted away she could feel the irregular warmth that her body was radiating. Carefully, she shifted in the small area so that she was sitting comfortably. Then she lifted up a hand and touched the back side of it to her forehead. She had a fever. Well, that would definitely explain the heat she was feeling. Bethany was hoping that the sick feeling she had developed earlier would pass with some sleep, or develop into a mild cold. But she felt like she was burning up. And if she could feel the fever, she was sure that people would be able to see it.
Her eyes glanced down at Hannah who looked up at her with her head tilted before she licked one of her hands and let out a small whine. A tired smile pulled at Bethany’s lips as she gently pat the new mother’s head. “I’m okay, Hannah” she assured the mabari.
Taking her phone out of her pocket she glanced at the time. “Michael should be here soon” she told Sten before putting the device back into her jacket. Cautiously, she shifted her body so that she could stand up, using the wall of the kennel as an aid. Luckily, she made sure to slowly get up. Even with her being as careful as she was she still felt dizzy from the movement. She remained in place for a moment, checking that she had her balance before making her way out of the kennel. Every step she took was triple checked before she took it. The last thing she needed to do was to accidentally step on one of the puppies or trip over Sten’s legs.
When she was out of the kennel and a safe distance away from the puppies, she let out a sigh. “Once he’s here we’ll be good to go” she told Sten, an exhausted smile on her lips.
As soon as Sten opened his lavender eyes, his mind was quick to wake up. Years of practice had taught him to shove away what tiredness he still felt upon waking. The soreness of sleeping sitting upright on a hard floor and against a hard wall was a little harder to ignore. His eyes lifted from Hannah on his legs and up to Bethany in front of him as a hand reached up to rub at his stiff neck.
The quick look of fear on the girl’s face was not lost to him. It was a common enough reaction from people in Kirkwall, but it still sent a small twinge of annoyance through his thoughts. He supposed he couldn’t blame her for being uncomfortable around him, though. He wasn’t exactly comfortable around her either.
His annoyance was quickly shelved when he noticed how she looked. Her skin was pale, save for where her cheeks flushed, and her eyes had an unfocused quality to them. She was obviously feeling the way she looked, judging by the hand that went up to feel her forehead. Sten was just about to inquire about her state of health when she told Hannah that she was okay. Doubtful, but Sten kept his silence. He watched almost painfully as the girl stood up, most of her weight relying on the wall for support.
He got up as soon as she started picking her way through the puppies on the floor, her eyes trained downward in deliberate concentration. With each straightening limb, his body let out small pops. It was a common occurrence for him, since he slept with little to no movement. Once on his feet, he watched Bethany shuffle out of the room, listening as he followed, shutting the door to the room after he was fully out.
Sten went straight to the water cooler just down the hall, taking one of the small paper cups from its dispenser and filling it up with cold water. In a few quick strides he was back in front of Bethany, holding the cup out to her. “Drink,” he told her, the first word he’d said to her since waking, “and go sit.” He motioned to the plastic chairs near the front entrance to the shelter, just down the hall.
The Qunari watched as the girl opened her mouth, perhaps to protest that it would be unnecessary, but he cut her off before she could say anything. “You look unwell,” he stated, a hand reaching out to the one of hers that was not holding the water cup. “Both flushed and pale,” he continued, turning her hand over, three callused fingers touching the underside of her wrist—soft skin, he noted silently—a rough thumb pressing to the skin on top of her wrist, “pulse seems normal, but you are definitely warm to the touch. More than likely just a small cold and should go away, if you do not ignore it.” He dropped her hand and gestured again. “Go sit.”
He turned and walked back to the water cooler, filling a cup for himself. He downed three in quick succession before bringing Bethany another cup. He was just holding it out to her when Michael walked through the back door. “Stay,” he commanded her as he walked in to the back to fill in the shelter’s owner of the night’s happenings.
Michael made for the puppies’ room, spent a couple moments inside, and then exited, announcing that they appeared to be doing quite well. He thanked both Sten and Bethany for their help in watching them over night, and told them both to go home and get the rest they undoubtedly needed. Sten nodded silently, and waited for Bethany to gain her feet.
“I will walk you home,” he announced. Again, she looked like she was going to protest, and again he cut her off. “You’re swaying on your feet, and you look like easy prey. It is still early, and the streets are not the friendliest of places even in broad daylight. It is my fault you are out and about. Let me make sure that you make it to your door, at the very least.” Clearly the Qunari was not going to take no for an answer.

He meets this beautiful woman and falls in love. He starts to realize he doesn’t want to go to prison and live this way. And it may be a surprise for some people, but at some point Wolf knows he’s not going in. He’s too much a free spirit and there is no way to cage this animal.
The whole point of the movie is to ask what mark you leave on this world. Are you judged by that one action? Are you defined by that action? You get to see him in love, and you get to see him through Cash’s eyes…when people like Wolf pass they get to live on in you.

Sten felt exhausted, and he could tell that everyone else in the room felt the same. Hannah was done in from giving birth, lying on her side, breath slowed in sleep. Her puppies were tired from being born and all of the feeding; each one of them was stumbling around Hannah’s legs, looking for a place to rest against the warmth of their mother. And then there was Bethany, who had had circles under her eyes almost as dark grey as his own skin.
Sten didn’t think he could feel any more tired even if he had spent the entirety of the birth running tight circles around the room. From how damp his underarms and back felt, he figured he might as well had done just that.
When Bethany offered to stay with the puppies so that Sten could go home and rest, he was very tempted. His legs were cramped, his ass sore, and his back stiff from sitting on the floor. He would dearly love to be able to stretch out horizontally. But… “I think… I will stay.” He felt like he couldn’t just leave. It would feel like a job unfinished if he did not stay to make for certain all was well until the morning, when Michael would come to open up the shelter to the public.
The Qunari unfolded his long legs, limbs stretching more than halfway across the room, and shifted his weight so that blood flow improved in his buttocks. “Yes. I will stay,” he said more firmly, deciding. He wasn’t comfortable, but he never was in this city built for humans. Sometimes he preferred sleeping on the floor in his apartment in preference to the too-short bed that he had extended the length on with kitchen chairs.
Leaning back against the wall, he watched the puppies fall asleep, arms folded across his broad chest, fighting the weight of his eyes. He felt envious at how comfortable they looked.
He wasn’t sure when exactly he had fallen asleep, or if the girl had tried to wake him at any point, but when he opened his eyes there was daylight pouring through the narrow window in the room. The first face he saw was Hannah’s, who had her head on his knee, eyes looking up at him. She gave a small “woofle” when she saw his eyes open, her tail swishing side-to-side.

Sten silently commended her on her attitude. Every defeat was a learning experience, provided one did not die in said defeat. No one ever got better fighting those weaker than themselves. A person needed to be challenged in order to grow. Sten himself sought out the best fighters among the Qunari, anyone who was available to spar him. It was how he had attained the skill that he had.
He watched as Elissa moved about the tiny space and appraised it. He agreed with a nod of his head that a change of scenery for their fight would be necessary. He could fight her in any space if he were forced to, but if they did so, her belongings would get ruined one way or another. And he would really rather have the space required for him to properly move. He couldn’t even stand fully upright in her apartment without bumping his head on her ceiling. “Either of those places would be sufficient. If the gym is open, perhaps it would be the wiser of the two. I am sure you would not like to draw unwanted attention from any member of law enforcement if they saw us sparring.”
He paused again when she asked when he wanted the fight. He glanced at the digital clock Elissa had on her microwave. It was very late. No sane person would be out and about at this hour, and he had work in the morning. However, he could do with a good fight. Hopefully this woman could deliver that.
“We shall do this now.” Sten picked up his beer, drained the rest of it in a few short swallows, and set the empty bottle back down. He stood, the alcohol in his system made his vision swim slightly. He kept a hand on the counter until the floor stopped its movement. “Lead on to this place you have in mind.”

Jason Momoa includes boxing and climbing into his workout routine so he doesn’t get bored.
The Game of Thrones hunk has become a household name thanks to his portrayal of Khal Drogo in the hit TV series.
Before that, he also appeared in Baywatch and is no stranger to shedding his clothes for a role. Luckily he’s big on his fitness and likes to make sure he’s having fun while working out.
“It’s very hard sometimes to just work out. It’s monotonous and you can get stuck in a rut. I get bored, so I do a lot more boxing, surfing, climbing – I do things I love to do when I’m not training for a role,” Jason revealed to the British edition of Men’s Health magazine.
“When I have to change my body type, then we just switch it up. Doing a lot more weights for size; a lot more cardio for definition.”
As well as keeping fit, the 35-year-old actor likes to enjoy himself.
He never denies himself a little indulgence and believes having a balance between looking after yourself and having fun is key to an enjoyable life.
“My family and my career are both going where I want them to go. The older you get the more you have to take care of yourself, but I also want to drink a couple of pints with my friends in the pub. I want to do both of those things, and even when I’m 50 or 60 I’m going to do them,” he laughed.
