Top: in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, the Star 'Stache Smash minigame features Piranha Plants painted on the sides, whereby the planks shift to make them open and close their mouths as the player attempts to tilt items into them.

Bottom: unused graphics for two other side drawings exist in the game's files, being a Chain Chomp and a Goomba. It is likely that additional levels of the minigame were planned, with the sides having different graphics for each.

In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, there are graphics for Mario and Luigi being flattened while facing all directions.

Out of these, only the ones of Luigi being flattened while looking in the cardinal directions (marked with green rectangles in the image) are used, while the rest are unused. It appears that flattening Mario and Luigi was supposed to be a more integral part of the game.

Officially licensed Question Block-shaped soap dispenser from Japan. Notably, the nozzle is shaped in such a way that the soap is being dispensed in a star shape, attempting to convey the feeling of obtaining a Super Star from a Question Block in a Mario game.
