Congratulations. You’re all grown up. All of a sudden the people you knew are scattered and busy. They have ambitions and families and as much as you do your best to keep up, there’s a slow sense of drift. Now you’re left at a house party in the kitchen, trying to make small talk with the red plastic cup in your hand.

The people you went to school with have scattered like billiard balls, and you feel a bit like you’re drifting. Do you go after them? Where is everybody? This little monster will always be standing awkwardly beside you, doing his best to suck in his stomach.

This is Istheral, one of the four gods in a novel I'm working on. Istheral is the Goddess of Autumn. Once a year, she captures the Summer Dragon in a bottle and takes reign over the continent, until the Winter Knight cuts her hair and the next season begins.
