Alright, I've got questions for the Transformers fandom at large because yes I did watch Transformers One and yes my brain is in hyper fixation mode and making me consider things for my own Transformers canon so!

Hey given that the Primes are often the ones that help build the universe (Quintus making organic life, for example) do you think that if the Primes die the sparks of future Transformers would have more "power" than normal, so that if one comes into contact with the right artifact they can "evolve" into a prime to bring balance back to the universe?

Like the universe sees the Primes are dead and are like "heck, we're missing a vital component to keep functioning, welp, better check to see if any of the ones available can fill the role"

Maybe that's why Optimus and Rodimus are able to become Primes. I know Optimus is sometimes cast as a reincarnation of a Prime but like what about Rodimus? What about that boy? Why is he able to become a Prime?

Idk, just a thought

It is 2 in the morning and I am still not done.

Most continuities have Liege Maximo and Megatronus being evil primes, though that is different Transformers One. I personally have it in my continuity that Megatronus is a good person and Liege Maximo is the only evil one, but regardless, I imagine Primes who use their Primehood for evil are more imprisoned in the Matrix rather than vibing. They can't possess the user.

However, if there was a plot point of an evil Prime (Maximo or Megatronus, whichever you prefer) breaking their imprisonment and actually possessing Optimus?

I think it would be a great showing of just how much Optimus usually holds back because I 100% believe an evil Optimus would be more terrifying than any Decepticon. He would be terrifying the Decepticons themselves.

Optimus possessed by an evil entity and going on a rampage and wreaking havoc and actually forcing the Autobots and Decepticons to team up so they can restrain him and figure out to reverse this possession while the Primes in the Matrix are also fighting to try and pull the evil Prime back into the Matrix so they can be imprisoned.

Idk, give me versions of Optimus fucking losing it or turning evil or being possessed and make him be so terrifying even Megatron is like "can we have the good one back?"

About that Haunted Matrix idea I had last post.

Optimus absolutely tells the Primes that they cannot just take over his body without his permission, because having your will and your autonomy and your choices just casually taken away from you at the whims of a ghost would be antithetical to his entire motto.

So realistically the only times the Primes take over Optimus's body is when he gives them permission, or if he's gotten knocked unconscious and the situation is really bad and someone might die if they don't.

Imagine Megatron believing he's knocked Optimus unconscious and goes to kill an Autobot when they try and grab his body to get him to Ratchet, and Optimus gets up but it's not Optimus in control and he gets back into the fight with Megatron but just isn't fighting like Optimus usually does and Megatron is so caught off guard that "Optimus" beats his ass.

It scares everyone when he threatens Megatron to leave after almost taking his life.

Ratchet is worried about Optimus's health, Prowl is trying to calculate what just happened, but Optimus just waves it off. He doesn't remember what happened but what's important is that the battle is won and no one died and it's fine, everything's okay, he's just gotta keep moving...

I may be one day late from Halloween, but I had a spooky thought about Transformers.

The fact that the souls of the Primes are *in* the Matrix of Leadership (I think?) should be addressed more. Imagine Optimus seeing the ghosts of the Primes around him to give him advice. Imagine one of them possessing him in a moment of peril or panic. Like the Avatar State from ATLA but for Primes.

Optimus suddenly not acting like himself with a voice layered under his own and one of those Primes is absolutely 100% down to murder and nearly does so with Megatron before getting stopped by one of the other Primes being like "Hey wait no, don't do that, this new baby Prime is going to feel VERY guilty if you do that"

Optimus waking up kind of dazed and very out of it afterward not remembering anything that happened and the Autobots being very concerned about it but he just walks it off like it was nothing because he has to keep going and leading.

Idk I feel like there's some story potential here.

Many people say there's a huge difference between Cybertronians and humans. Cybertronians are more durable and can transform after all.

But my parents are both IT professionals and talking with them has made me realize that machines and humans have a lot in common.

You think if a Cybertronian gets damage to their RAM, it causes short-term memory problems?

You think if a Cybertronian gets damage to their processor it's similar to a concussion?

CPU Damage could be like brain death to them, hitting a fuel line could be like hitting an artery, wire damage can be like nerve damage, damage to their graphics cards can result in blindness.

You think they ever feel aches in their bodies from where their metal has been wielded? You think they feel a form of chronic pain from major injuries? You think they use speed tape as bandages? You think they do stretches to warm up the pistons in their limbs so they don't break? Would that be similar to a pulled muscle?

You think if their coolant system breaks, they can overheat or even get poisoned from their own body fluids?

You think losing a part of their body makes it much harder for them to transform? You think losing an arm or leg or wing is worse for them because it disables them in more ways than one?

I dunno.

I love it when media treats damage to robots in real tangible ways that make it similar to when a human gets injured.

"What Are You Fighting For"

CLANG!!!

The morning star of a glowing purple flail is smacked away by a bright orange axe. There’s the distant crack of gunfire, the yelling of soldiers in combat, the roar of jet engines above.

WHACK! BANG! CLANG!

The axe and flail clash together as their wielders practically dance on uneven terrain. Embers scatter to the sky, blue liquid spills from the injured and dying, bright pink blasts fly this way and that, and the ground rumbles with every artillery strike.

VRRRRRRRRR…

The flail’s wielder charges up a large black gun on his arm, and a bright, searing blast fires out of it with a loud BOOM!!! The axe’s wielder holds his arm in front of him defensively, and in a second a glowing blue field appears in front of him to shield him. The blast hits the shield and the sheer force causes him to skid back several inches, but with summoned strength, he manages to take a few steps forward toward his attacker. When the intense blast finally dies, he drops his shield and rushes at his opponent, swinging his axe upward to block another hit from the flail, only for his opponent to grab the handle of his axe and with a swift motion, throw its user across the battlefield, disarming him in the process. The axe wielder moves to get up as his opponent approaches closer through the smoke.

“You fight well, Optimus Prime.” His opponent’s low, gravely voice rings out as the axe is pressed against his own throat. “...Let me ask you something before I take your life here.” Optimus’s eyes go from the weapon at his neck to his opponent's glowing red eyes. “You fight with the same conviction as a Decepticon. The same determination as the bots who fight for liberation from the council that created your faction. Tell me. What brings you to the battlefield? Do you believe in any cause?”

He leans down near Optimus’s voice with a grin.

“Or are you trying to get revenge for your fallen mentor?”

A flash of anger goes through Optimus’s optics, smoke starting to billow from his exhaust pipes. He narrows his eyes at the mech in front of him, his mask hiding most of his expression.

“You are mistaken, Megatron.” The addressed mech begins to lean away as Optimus speaks, still keeping the blade at his neck. “My Autobots might have been created by a councilman, but they seek the same freedoms as your Decepticons. We all wish to live in peace.” Megatron narrows his eyes as Optimus shifts on the ground to more directly make eye contact with him. “But the actions you have taken have only hurt more of the people you are trying to liberate. If the peace we both seek is to last, the violence must stop.”

“If you think for a second I’m going to roll over and play nice now that I’ve made my move, you are dumber than you look!” Megatron’s snaps. “We tried peaceful revolution, and your council made that impossible. I won’t stop until this entire planet has been scrubbed of their influence!”

“Then I won’t stop fighting you.” Optimus’s engine rumbles slightly like a growl. “Countless innocents, countless lives could be ruined in your conquest! Do you not care for them?!”

“What is a couple lives lost…” Megatron raises Optimus’s axe above his head, “compared to the millions that have suffered under the council’s reign?!”

Optimus suddenly transforms and uses the bed of his truck to swipe under Megatrons feet, tripping him. Optimus transforms back into robot mode to grab his axe from the air and spins it as he jumps back several feet, putting distance between himself and Megatron. He glares at Megatron intensely.

“In the quest for freedom, every life matters.”

Megatron growls, the helicopter blades on his back shaking before he rushes at Optimus with his flail again. The clang that rings out as the weapons clash is drowned by the sound of war around them…

Do you have any headcanons on the passage of time in your Artifacts fic?

I still don't know what a 'vorn' is, even when I've searched it up countless times.

I'll probably draw something to kind of better explain it.

But the closest I've got to a "canon" source of time measurements is the Transformers Roleplaying Game book. According to it:

One Nano-Klik = One Second One Klik = One Minute One Cycle = One Hour One Solar Cycle = One Day One Orbital Cycle = One Month One Stellar Cycle = One Year One Vorn = One Century

I know there are also other terms but like this is as close as I can get to a comprehensive canon, if you want to go off of this.

Prowl and Jazz Deserve Their Own Show

This isn't exactly something about my continuity of Transformers but it's an idea I've had for a show.

Basically, the concept is that Jazz and Prowl wind up stuck on Earth without contact with the rest of the Autobots or Decepticons. Maybe it was a mission to protect the All-Spark gone wrong, a space bridge accident, or something the Decepticons did purposefully since Jazz and Prowl are very close to Optimus. Either way, the two are stuck on Earth, together, but completely separated from the war, Optimus, and Cybertron.

I imagine the show or comic or what have you would focus mostly on Prowl and Jazz's relationship. Prowl as the by-the-books rule guy focused solely on the task at hand with Jazz as the go-with-the-flow guy wanting to learn more about the environment they're in. They'd have so many clashes and you could do interesting things with the characters.

Also their dynamic around the humans would absolutely be that one scene from Rise of the Beasts.

Prowl: YOU BROUGHT A HUMAN HERE?! Jazz: I just think they're neat.
