This is not a bookish or a tv post. Probably nobody cares but i cant sleep cause im crying.

My sister told me today that her brain told her to do something for her to die. She's 5. How should i feel? Cause now i feel like i wanna die.

How can a 5 year old think that? And why? I swear she's happy 24/7. Im just confused and terrified.

Hopefully ill past, im thinking of taking her to therapy and seeing what could cause that thought on her small young and brilliant brain.

We get this scene also immediately after Neal was ready to abandon Emma and flea to Canada. Emma volunteers to get the watches and help him fence them to keep Neal with her. She cannot be abandoned again. (And, she will be in that storyline very soon.)

Meanwhile, Hook has spent a bit of time climbing a beanstalk with her and decides that he will be the bait. Emma still seems stunned he does it, because she expected him to run the moment she saw the size of the giant - when he fully realised the danger he would have to face. And, he doesn't.

And, this taunt he yells at the giant? It wasn't just baiting the giant. If we know one thing about Hook - he is willing to be killed in this moment. He was ready for the sword at the hands of the Dark One and hasn't quite found a reason to live beyond his revenge. He does think he is the worst human around and should be the one to die in her place, if that is where this adventure must end.

So i havent read any good books in a while and ive been re-watching tv shows i liked when i was kid. 1st on the list was Once Upon a Time. And im obsessed all of again obviously.

So now most of my posts are going to be about the show and all my thoughts.

(And yes i love Captain Swan ship duh)

Ok I’m starting Crescent City:HOEAB for the first time ever and is sooo boring so far like. What. 🌙

Although im on chapter 3 page 28. Idk what’s coming. I’m honestly just reading it cause i need and want all the details for the crossover but gods dammed me is giving me migraine i swear. 😭

I’ll be updating my progress in here so i can keep reading and not give up lol

The Updates will go like how many chapters I’ve read in the day (or pages) and all the stuff im understanding and the characters and stuff so wish me luck. 😉

Jacks definitely fell for Evangeline much earlier before the end of TBONA. It doesn’t matter if he needed her for the Valory Arch, this guy protected her by reflex many times and genuinely worried for her. He was even angry when Evangeline thought the worst of him (which he deserved from her pov). He was mad when he saw her struggling under Chaos, yet couldn’t do anything because it would ruin her.

Chaos indirectly told Evangeline that Jacks cares about her. In the Hollow, no matter what his original and current plan was, he left it behind to stay there with Evangeline. If it wouldn’t have been for Evangeline, Chaos and Lala, Jacks was happy with Evangeline there and put everything behind. It was her that made him leave.

And it was so sad. Jacks was hurt ans Evangeline was hurt. He just wanted to believe she loved and wanted him the was he does. He wanted to stay in the hollow with her. I got so sad myself*-*

Both Chaos and Lala noticed and sensed since OUABH that they have growing feelings. Especially about Jacks since they know him better.

In ACFTL, he admitted he thinks about her and wants her from the beginning. But he lied to himself because he would hurt her (that’s what he thought). And tell me all what you want, but I am still not convinced that all his goal was going to Tella. And if, then it actually became a plan at the end to save Evangeline. Because if she can’t remember him, the risk of hurting her decreases. And after her memories were taken away, he realized how much it hurts him. How much it would have hurt him even when he would have went to the past with the stones. He would always crave her, love her and want her.

I think he planned too much behind her back for the Valory Arch. But Jacks is a loyal man. He didn’t do all of it for himself. He did it for Chaos and Lala and the Valors too.

And since the curse on Evangeline that Lala put on her (I still can't believe no one was mad at her and she got away without any consequenses when she constantly hated on Apollo and Aurora although she did the exact things) would kill her, Jacks' motive changes again: to save Evangeline from the Archers and Mirror curse.

The only thing I truly hate is, and I also just skip because it is absolutely irrelevant, yet I want you guys to know: the Darling Sister, and the first fox disaster. The Darling thing was just for mock, to unnecessarily fill a page that made zero sense and was completely banal and disgusting. A page I rip. Though about the fox girl, it is confirmed that he wasn’t in love. Evangeline is the only girl ever he fell in love with. Cares for. Wants and loves.

And the things he told Lala. I absolutely think he is corrupt to lie to others and himself because deep down he knows telling the truth will hurt Evangeline, kill her.

And Apollo, oh boy. I wished he would have had another end. He clearly cared for Evangeline and his struggle in TBONA was so heartbreaking. Jacks saw that and that is why he told her in ACFTL that he believed she is safe with Apollo. I liked Apollo too and would have welcomed it if he would have had a happy ending himself. Same goes for Luc. Both of them got cursed and then their lives changed for the worse. And no one cared?

I honestly didn’t expect it to be like this, but I am so glad it is the way it is! Jacks true love as in, the only girl he truly fell in love with, loved so deeply and couldn’t stay away and who felt those things for him as well, is the one who breaks the curse. Which is Evangeline Fox!

I absolutely loved Aurora's curse on Jacks (as a plotpoint).

The initially presumed curse would have doomed him to loneliness until he found his true love.

The ACTUAL curse deprived him of ANY chance at a relationship, even what he got was contentment and not absolute happiness and an earthshuttering love. It doomed him to ultimately only be able to pursue the person who would NOT love him because of an assumption, and that's more cruel at the end of the day.

Just imagine Jacks throughout the years. He DID murder and hurt people, but he wasn't murdering girls for kicks. Yet any time he found someone, felt some fondness and might have thought "hey, this time it will be different" he was bound to be wrong. But not knowing that the curse was NOT meant to allow his kiss to leave even his true love alive he was bound to assume that the fault was either with his feelings or of the feelings those girls had towards him. Jacks was not just lonely. He was hoping against hope, and was getting crushed each and every time.

His fears when it came to Evangeline and his willingness to step away from her to protect her (the one who WAS his true love) makes absolute sense.

In Defense of Jacks in ACFTL

I do have spoilers, so this is your warning not to venture further if you haven't finished reading.

First off, I love how the story was told and how it ended. Could we have gotten more of the other characters? Yes. Did we really need to? Maybe, but I certainly didn't mind the absence. I didn't think we needed to address every character that we've met. We saw Castor and Lala, and I was happy about it, but I was strictly here for Evajacks story, and that's what I got.

I think Eva and Jacks had character development in this novel.

Eva isn't as trusting and hopeful as she was in the previous two books, and I was happy about it! Girl was getting murder attempted on her, and her husband is a narcissistic, manipulative psychopath. The only people she could trust were 1) being kept away from her or 2) avoiding her because they thought they were doing the best thing for her if they did so *cough* jacks

Jacks watched the girl he loved die! He blamed himself for what happened to Eva, and then continued staying away because he felt guilty and thought he was keeping her safe in doing so. He didn't know Apollo took Eva's memories away. He was too busy making sure Castor didn't go within 10 feet of Eva because Castor did attack Jacks after he went back in time to save her! He was still around Eva, he was just hiding in the shadows or out in the balcony peering through the windows. He genuinely thought Apollo was the better choice for Eva because at least Apollo hadn't done anything to her (as far as he knew).

Jacks apologized to her under the phoenix tree, saying that when he went back in time, he thought the stones would have taken something from him, not Eva, or are we all ignoring that because of that beautiful love confession Eva gave? He wanted our girl to live! When Eva met Castor in the Cursed Forest, Jacks literally put a knife through his best friend's chest in fear of having a repeat of the first timeline! Castor wasn't even doing anything, he was just trying to have a conversation with her.

Jacks was the tortured lover we all knew him to be. He wasn't Jacks, Prince of Hearts, with a trail of deadly kisses in search of true love in this novel. He was Jacks of the Hollow, a man who loved his girl so much he wanted her to live instead of dying at his kiss. We all know how badly Eva wanted to kiss him, and we all know Jacks can hear her thoughts. Can we blame him for staying away? He literally said that if she died again, he could not bring her back. The idea of that was terrifying to him. He already used the stones, and going to Honora would have the possibility of turning her into a vampire, maybe worse.

Jacks felt different in this novel because he finally admitted how much he loves Eva. We've seen him do so many things for her throughout the series. Was he holding back in the other two books? I'd argue not really, but he certainly wasn't going to let her be with him. He didn't want to admit he was in love with her. Dude literally held her like a grudge in the first novel, a secret in the second novel, and then a promise in the third. The hints were there for us. He would literally do anything for her. He just didn't want to admit to himself he loved her because if he allowed himself to there was the possibility that she could die.

Does Eva die in this book? No, thank god. But don't act like you read their kiss scene and didn't fucking break a little when Jacks went "No! Not again".

officially all epilogues show one thing: evajacks being a couple, living together and desperately in love. in all realities, in all endings, in all alternatives this is how they end. together. 🩷

(and besides, it is clear and obvious that the b&n epilogue is the most constant and canonical, because in all the others it is reaffirmed that they are together and living in the hollow.)
