sometimes self care is making an edit of Quentin, Eliot and Margo in their baby era (aka S1) to the tune of "forever young"

Sorry, I know Eliot and Margo are platonic soulmates and I love them for that but also, is it possible that Margo has or at least had some feelings that might not be... fully requited on Eliot's part because of his preference?
It's just those little things, like the way she looks at him sometimes etc, but also, the thing that made me think of this, of her being in love with her best friend not only platonically, is her response to Fen saying "Sounds as if you should marry him" after Margo lists Eliot's good qualities to her to comfort her when their marriage is arranged in a 1x13 deleted scene.
She says "Oh, honey, no. Not his type."
I mean, she could have said that so she doesn't have to explain the platonic soulmates thing to Fen, but the way she says it, with a sigh and such regret...
I can't help but think she would love to, but it's not possible and she accepts that or at least tries to tell herself she does.

It would also... I can’t say explain, but fit in nicely with how easily they remembered the Mosaic timeline with minimal prompting.
That’s what they do. Because they are soulmates.
That last post, it seems, opened the door for ideas, because consider:
El and Q remembering pieces of past timelines.
Not in dramatic flashes (though these also can occur), but just... them remembering parties and conversation and gestures and revelations that didn’t actually happen in this timeline.
Them knowing things about each other they can't possibly know unless being told by the other or witnessed or learned through days and weeks and months of watching the other, of living in the same space, of being together as much as they do.
Big things, occasionally. But mostly small things, little details, like Eliot's favorite song or the way Q takes his coffee.
And most times, they are not even consciously aware of the fact that they know this.
Eliot just makes Q coffee a certain way during a late night studying session and Q comments on how it's just right and Eliot considers it a happy coincidence (and of course files it under important things to remember).
Q puts on a random song to cheer El up and not only it works it turns out to be one of his favorite.
Things like that. Small things, like the kind of things Q's discipline is to mend. But, just like the things Q is meant to mend, just like his discipline and Q himself, while may be underrated, those small things mean the world.

This might be the coldest of takes but... what if Q and Eliot actually are aware of past time lines?
Like, not in the sense that they remember them, maybe, but on some subconscious, instinctual level?
Which is part of the reason they are so drawn to each other (and Q to Margo, in the platonic sense... also, part of the reason he so seamlessly fit into the duo turned trio) from day 1.
Because they've been here before, 39 times, and in each timeline they loved each other (maybe, they didn't always come to the stage where they've entered into a relationship, sometimes staying best friends, mostly not really having the time to reach that stage because they never got past the Beast, but they loved each other very much, so much that Q was willing to meddle with time and restart his life if it meant saving Eliot's life in timeline 1)

What is up with The Magicians' writers making these sort of guardian figures literally no one asked for tell canonically depressed and suicidal people things would be better if they died young?
Penny to Quentin in S4 finale and Jane to Eliot in S5.
Like, don't they get what a terrible message that is? And they go and do it twice? With the two most beloved characters? What the actual fuck?!

I hate Jane Chatwin so much.
It's very fitting for her to be the WatcherWoman, actually, because she is a true villain.
I mean, that bitch sat back and watched as a group of students, most of whom are first-years, kept trying to defeat her little brother turned powerful villain (and one can't help but wonder what would happen if she wasn't so blind when they were kids and actually saw what was going on right under her nose while she went back and forth scedaddling to a fantasy land) and did nothing to actually help them, only manipulated events as she saw fit, and those students died a number of times thanks to her, like we know Q died 39 times, but how many times did others do? Plenty, I'm sure.
And don't get me started on 5x02... like, as much as s5 was full of weird decisions on writers' part and bullsh*t, Jane was pretty consistent in her awful way and did she really basically tell Eliot that because he lived, Q died 39 times?
Did I get that right?
In timeline 1 Q survived but Eliot died. And then, she said, she saved Eliot and Q died 39 times. Like that's El's fault?
Did I get that right?!

Finally got my hands on The Magicians in 1080p quality 🤩😍🤩
First of all, that means I can finally gif more than 8 eps of season 1 I have had until today, so prepare for lots of Eliot. Lots and lots of Eliot. And Margo, of course. And Quentin.
Secondly, I'm waiting for ffmpeg to finish saving 'Don't get me wrong' scene as a separate file because my laptop can't load the whole ep so it would run smoothly and I feel like I might spontaneously combust while I watch it because Lisard El is... 😘👌🥺😋😅🥵

The more I watch and the more I know (because I know a lot of things I haven't watched yet because I love spoilers), the more I wonder how on Earth is it possible to hate your own character as much as the writers of SyFy's The Magicians hate Eliot Waugh.
Like, don't get me wrong, they acted shitty towards lots of their characters and don't even get me started on what they did to Quentin, but Eliot? My precious baby boy Eliot who has grown so much over the course of the show (and I'm starting to suspect he somehow did it without much help from the writers, because how can someone write his growth and then whatever the hell 4x13 and S5 are, in terms of what they did to Eliot, is beside me), who has such a big heart in spite of what he tried to pretend to be like initially, who cares so much about all of his friends and not only his friends but people he meets and Fillory's people and Fillory itself and who bonds ridiculously fast... like, really fast, who is so brave and kind and smart and creative and responsible and mature (once again, in spite of what he looks like), who realy was meant to be a king because he's a natural at it and who was a good damn king and bumping him to eventually make Margo High King is... just another can of worms I don't want to open right now (to classify: I love Margo to bits, I just don't think that her becoming High King was really necessary, she was a badass High Queen and she could show patriarchy what's what just fine while being the High Queen and, maybe unpopular opinion here but, making her the High King actually was detrimental to her fight against patriarchy... but, as I said, another can, so we are moving on for now), who had a lot of shitty things happen to him and who somehow still found joy and beauty in life and felt everything very deeply and loved with his whole heart even when he was afraid of that love and... and... I can go on and on about Eliot and all the ways he deserved much better than what the writers did to him, but the point is:
Eliot Waugh deserves so much better than what The Magicians' writers did to him.
So. Much. Better.
Like, I don't have the words to describe just how much better he deserves.
And instead of everything good he deserves, instead of fucking happiness and love and peace but maybe not so much quiet, the writers took away all that which he held most dear – literally, all, Quentin, Margo, his friends, Fillory, you name it, they took it all away – rendered his characters growth useless and basically just crushed him.
So, I'm circling back to my initial question that cannot be answered:
how on Earth is it possible to hate your own character as much as the writers of SyFy's The Magicians hate Eliot Waugh?

Do you think about this scene at least once a day like me or are you normal?
(this scene needs to be posted as a video too because gifs can't do Margo's anguish justice)
