"Yo, this is NintendoLearner from uh... 1 month from the past by the time you get this. Yes, I'm your secret santa... and I'm very grateful that I got quite a flexible entry, making me able to finish it in a day just right after I got your list. I wanted to draw only Kirby but I realize how stupid it was and since the wishes seem a little bit too bland I decided to painfully kick myself to the curb and ended up drawing Kirby with a Snow Bowl ability. Look, I'm very sorry if the ability hat looks weird, but THE ICE CREAM PART OF THE HAT IS KILLING ME!

But! I realize how lonely Kirby is there so I decided to add Shadow Kirby with a cocoa (maybe it's frozen in the photo, I dunno *shrug*) and Bandee (after I reread the list and knew it was your favorite character)... Honestly I decided to run with my lineless style since I just completely gave up on the ice cream hat and it looks better there. Plus, I actually adore lineless art.

I'm sure Learner from the future would be very grateful she finished this before more projects rained down... anyways merry christmas :)

For a special friend!

On that bright spring day, Gooey was enjoying his breakfast, making disasters with his clumsiness, however, no one was bothered, in fact, it was a relief that he started eating on his own initiative! He was recently getting used to the routines of others in Dream Land. Gooey didn't need to eat, however, everyone worried that he did, especially Bandana Dee, who was just taking care of him, last week it was Kirby's turn; now it was Bandana's time, which made him quite nervous because he considered it a challenge to keep Gooey in his place, he was a very restless little creature that liked to explore and play; his curiosity never seemed to end.

— Gooey! I have an idea and I know that you can help me… Although, I already know that right now I am taking care of you.

The little Dark Matter turned around and stared at him, hoping that whatever he asked of him, it was a fun game.

— You see, I wanted to ask you something very important, something Kirby reminds me a lot.

Bandee took a short pause and continued speaking on the subject.

— How about Dream Land? Do you like being here?

Gooey's eyes shone, the joy was noticeable and immediate, in fact, he had started to nod a lot of times to confirm that he liked his stay in that place.

— I'm happy! A lot, a lot, a lot, a lot, a lo-

— Okay, that's enough because what I'm planning is… A party.

— Uh?

Gooey did not understand that concept, he had heard it from the mouth of King Dedede, Meta Knight, even Kirby -the latter being the one who repeated it the most, he seemed to love that “party” although everyone said it was only because of the food-. But he still didn't understand what it was about or what was being done; it wasn’t food because the party already had food included. It was not a piece of furniture, nor was it a specific holiday.

— Come on… A party, where all your friends get together and have fun and can eat lots of sandwiches while chatting. Like those reunions Dedede makes, but fun!

— I want!

Now the idea interested him, it would be the ideal time to tell Kirby how much he had learned with them and also to learn a few more games.

— And you sure know how to have fun, just like Kirby so… Could you help me with the decorations? I'm not that good at it.

— It's because you clean a lot, right?

Bandee looked away, embarrassed to see that even Gooey noticed that he was a very neat guardian, even if it was something to mess with and amuse himself with. That must be because of his guard discipline, right?

— Good, but don't admit it in front of everyone! It's kind of… embarrassing…

Gooey giggled mischievously, but turned his attention back to him.

— Well, time to get some nice decorations, I suppose Dedede won't bother if I grab them from the cellar.

— Yay!

The cellar was one of his favorite places to play hide and seek, however, he had never paid attention to the things that were kept there before, apart from the annoying dust that covered the boxes and that was the worst enemy of his tongue when he tried to feel the surfaces in the dark -you know, a lot of coughing that gave away their hiding place during the game-.

The state of the place was to be expected when they arrived, because they began to cough as soon as they opened the large doors; it was a lot of boxes stacked together. At least each one had its corresponding label or it would become worse than looking for a needle in a haystack.

— Well, well uh… Would you help me see what we have around here? Although, be careful, I don't want you to get hur-

Gooey completely ignored Bandee's kind warning, as he began to climb box by box, rummaging through the things each one had. For him it was like a game, like a pirate counting all his treasures just like the stories Kirby had in his house!

The guardian had no choice but to resign himself to wait for Gooey's fun to end, although he noticed that he began to take an interest in various things, now that he was trying hard in the mission that was entrusted to him.

— Still nothing Gooey!?

— No, no! Uhhh, wait!

A box full of garlands caught his eye, they reminded him of the Dream Land festivals, like those fairs where he tried to win giant stuffed animals. He thought of lowering the box by himself, but... He had chosen the heaviest among all the ones in the cellar, so he had no choice but to ask Bandee for help.

— Bandana Dee!!

— Gooey? Are you okay, did something happen!?

— I found very nice things, but… I think you'll have to catch them.

— How? I don't think it's that complicated after all...

Bandee peeked around a corner and fell silent to note the large loot that Gooey had found. It was a large box that was more than the size of the little blue... At least three times his size.

— Oh s-sure.

He ended up rejecting that idea and got a smaller box, they would only take what was necessary for Kirby's surprise party. Gooey was a little disappointed, but forgot it as soon as he got down to choosing the ornaments with Bandee. Maybe pink, blue and orange didn't go so well together, but it was a special detail and Kirby liked all colors anyway!

—Ah, right, I don't think I told you what the party is about… You know? I want to show Kirby that we, his dear friends, appreciate him very much and are very grateful to him! Especially since he always asks me how you feel.

— Well, I feel great, it's fun to do this.

— That's a relief, but I mean how do you feel about Kirby being your best friend? I mean, you've never been in a place like this before, have you?

— Never before, never seen something as colorful as Pop Star… I mean, lit, maybe my world was full of color, but no one could see it.

Gooey was silent, thoughtful as they made their way to Kirby's house. In the past, he really came to believe that his home would look different if there was light… Kirby's light.

Anyway, they both began to decorate the house before he returned, they were both one of the many friends who had Kirby's permission to enter at any time, even if he was not present at home. It was being very colorful, almost as if it was a very happy birthday.

— And gifts? We have no gift ...

Bandee did not mind that, until he realized that Gooey had just reminded him of the most important thing, of course he had to give him something! But something different, not the cake Kirby ordered at 9 out of 10 parties.

— Gooey ... A letter would be okay?

— Some letters so everyone could write him something like he's cool and a hero

— Do you know what you could write to him?

— Nope! But I can think about it.

— ...Well, I'll find papers and pencils, I'll have the others write a letter too, will that be okay?

— Yes!! I just hope Kirby doesn't cry from the excitement or it would make me very sad...

Gooey sighed guiltily, while Bandee retired to fulfill his mission. In fact, the little blue had a lot of time to think about his letter, like an hour, he had thought so much that he had fallen asleep inside the box where the decorations were brought.

— Umm, Gooey? Good morning, Gooey?

He opened his eyes slowly, gave a long yawn, symbols of a wonderful nap. Although he was filled with excitement when he saw Bandee carrying a pile of letters and notes, he could even see pictures strained between the envelopes.

— Have you got mine!? Tell me yes, tell me yes!

— Oh right, it's on top next to the pencil, can you take them? I have to put these on the table… I didn't think there would be that many. They're even coming over later to have fun, isn't that great?

— Really? And can we play with them!?

Bandee nodded and let Gooey take his materials for his letter, he had a very excited glint in his eyes, the guardian had no idea what Gooey was planning to write.

He saw him very focused on his work as he arranged the letters and notes on the table. In fact, it was the first time Bandee had seen him so still. He took his good time finishing it, too bad he couldn't put it in an envelope because Kirby had just arrived!

The pink hero looked at the decoration with fascination, it was more than perfect, it reminded him of the carnivals he visited with Bandee.

— This is for me?

The two organizers attended, Kirby launched himself directly to hug them, causing the three of them to fall to the ground.

— Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you! You don't know how much I missed having a decoration like this! And, uh? What’s that?

The letter Gooey was holding had caught his attention. He had no idea what it was all about.

— May l?

— Yes, please! I just did it now.

Kirby took the appreciated letter very carefully, noticing that messy handwriting from Gooey, he had that childish tenderness that showed his honesty, the letter said:

“Kirby my best friend, I love you very much, thank you very much for taking me to Pop Star and letting me meet many friends just as great as you, I hope one day also to be a hero to my friends, as we see you. Our hero and best friend. Love, Gooey."

The letter ended with a cute doodle of him and Gooey, walking through the Green Greens meadows. He wouldn't have been excited, but when he turned to see Bandee there was a ton of things to read! He couldn't help but shed tears of joy.

— All this wasn't necessary! Ahh! How could you do something like this?

Gooey and Bandee went to hug him right away to calm him down.

— Come on, cheer up! Gooey will be sad if you cry too much and also... People are on their way.

— Did you invite more people!?

— Of course, why not? Congratulations, Kirby.

Kirby wiped away his tears and repeated "thank you" until he couldn't take it anymore. Gooey and Bandee had successfully achieved what they had planned in record time, perhaps that is why throughout the party they exchanged glances of complicity and pride. Something told them that they could plan a lot more things together, yes, including Kirby on their team!
