I don't understand these Makorra haters. Why do they keep sending Anon hate?? They'be been doing this since, pretty much the start of the show. Like you just got one of those haters, even though you never bashed, or insulted other ships. And I mean, why can't they just shut up, and let us ship what we like? Are they really that pathethic, that they have to attack innocent makorra blogs, and hate them?

that’s actually not even the first rude anon i’ve gotten recently! i usually try not to respond to those kinda of messages, but i thought this latest one was kind of funny.

and yeah, i do try really hard not to hate publicly on other ships and just keep to myself — i want my blog to be a positive space — but unfortunately i think some people get off on sending rude messages to others. the lok fandom in particular has been a really toxic place since the finale in 2014 but honestly i don’t really care anymore about what other people have to say about my own enjoyment of a show.

ayayay if netflix really does this then whats the point??

avatar the last airbender is a pure unadulterated kids comedy with lots of joyful and cute moments with a sprinkle of drama and tears, all to explain very mature themes of emperialism/colonization and why it's fucked to have kids going to war but ultimately love, mercy, and friendship save the day

if they wanted to age up the characters and have a show with darker themes, they should wait for the legend of korra

korra is 17 at the start of the series and ends when shes ~20 and her journey takes us on a much darker path

-where we see people get killed (p'li and earth queen)

-and tortured (amon removing bending, everything red lotus did to korra and tenzin, etc)

-and has way more romance drama (bokorra, makorra, korrasami, bopal, etc)

-and overall a more mature tone to the point where the final seasons didnt even air on nickelodeon (for several reasons but mostly bc lok didnt match the theme of the other shows on the network)

honestly, i wouldn't mind a live action tlok that was more mature with lighter notes throughout but atla is a precious kids show that should be left alone especially if they wanna make it riverdale 2.0

tl;dr netflix should do to atla what they did to series of unfortunate events and leave it with a general audience rating for kids.

if netflix wanted a mature series to adapt within the avatar universe, they shoulda went with the legend of korra.

If you want to see a good relationship /friendship development watch the first time Mako talked to Korra how damn rude he was and then in the last season last episode he was like “I’d go anywhere you go, I’d do anything for you”

For some terrible reason my father decided to watch Legend of Korra.

I have many thoughts about that.

But let me just say having been forced to binge watch the first three seasons, if you think Korrasami was planned, you’re deluding yourself. Korra/Mako was written into the show from the first episode, and continued long into season three after they supposedly ‘broke up’. I guarantee you the plan was for them to get together again in book 4 until they decided at the last second to switch it up.

She's soooooo soft for Mako, the look in her eyes is so different when looking at him, she adores and unconditionally loves this man from the beginning and was interested in him before the story even began since she listened to him play on the radio so much. Makorra is True Love & Canon. It was denied by two people who couldn't understand love if Cupid shot them to death with love arrows lol

This this this! I just posted something similar on Twitter! Why are we expected to explain away all the blantant romantic tropes and cues, especially in the Book 1? Are we to watch LOK on mute so our feelings won't be affected by the music? The same type of music that stirs certain emotions for Korrasami in the finale?

Yes Makorra is still a thing is 2020. Know why? Because when most of us jumped ships in Book 2 years ago, Book 3 brought us back. We exist because we find really cute or moving scenes of Mako and Korra all throughout the series, not just the fanart! Makorra shippers are no different than Zutara shippers, or any other non-cannon shippers.

The LOK production team pushed Makorra in the beginning and then they pushed Korrasami at the end. What did we learn? Korra and Asami are bi. They like men and women.

Let us enjoy the LOK as it was presented to us. Expecting everyone to make up a narrative to downplay Mako and Korra's feelings for each other in Books 1 & 2 is unrealistic. Don't let us stop you from doing it though. Have fun! You know our tags, don't follow us, and please stop calling us homophobic for not erasing Korra's bisexuality.

Honestly, we fans are lucky! How many other shows gives us screen time and a comic book for two major couples? Makorra was endgame at the beginning, and Korrasami is cannon! We all win!

Even though I have absolutely no followers (not an exaggeration) I am still going to post this. I know that the finale just happened and there are still tensions running high between most of the fandom. I understand that. What I don’t understand is how harsh part of the fandom is being. I just want everyone to be happy for the fact that Korra is happy. And if you can’t do that, there is always fanfic. But please stop throwing these hurtful words at each other. I am appalled at how loosely the term ‘homophobe’ is being used. I am a Makorra shipper and this hurts me a lot. Just earlier today, I saw someone being called a homophobe because they made a fan edit of the ending. If I am not mistaken, I’m pretty sure Zutura shippers made fanart after the finale as well. There is nothing wrong with wishing that the ending was different. I wish that Jack had never died at the end of Titanic, but there isn’t anything I can do about that but imagine. That is what Makorrians are doing right now. They aren’t invalidating Korrasami, we are just thinking of what could’ve been. Please do not use homophobia as an excuse to bash us Makorrians because we don’t ship Korrasami. If we had shipped Masami (cringe) instead, would we be homophobic and racist? No. Don’t judge a person by their preferences. Find actual evidence before accusing them of something so serious. I have shipped Makorra since the very first book and even though I am sexually confused at the moment, I still fully support all things queer. Happy shippings!

Dear TV show writers,

Please take this time of Covid to read some GODDAMN BOOKS and learn how to write relationships that do not need to immediately blow the fuck up since your season 2 was suddenly green lighted!

If I fall in love with another damn ship that is setting sail at the season one finale only to have it sinking at the bottom of the hopeless romantics ocean in season two I will lose my ever loving mind.
