This is the Royce I love. Royce should be allowed to be feral more often. Not just silent, brooding, assassin Royce (though we love him too) but just down right, off-the-leash, protectively feral Royce Melborn.
Royce didn't buy the story of Hadrian's death. But if it was true, dagger or no dagger, hands or no hands, Fawkes would never leave this room alive.

One of my favorite things in the Chronicles is how every time Royce tried to make a point or prove something to Hadrian, Hadrian twisted the conversation so unexpectedly that Royce couldn't believe it (and probably cringed inside for having start that conversation in the first place).
Those kind of interaction usually ended up with Royce shutting up and leaving lol.
