it’s necessary to fight back against adult content bans obviously because it leads to queer bans, but also, you cannot forget that we must fight back against these bans because adults have the right to make and enjoy adult content. no credit card company has the right to censor what we look at. yes, this includes the “problematic kinks” and stuff you think is gross and bad. just as we deserve to be openly queer online, we deserve to enjoy adult content without fear of total censorship, and it’s absurd how few places there are to do that online nowadays

Shows and movies need to have individual volume controls for music, sound effects, and voices the way some games do so that I can actually hear what anyone is saying without getting a headache from blasting sounds and music.

I feel like people who think Cazador doesn't look or sound imposing/intimidating enough are sort of missing the point. Or at least, missing *a* point, whether or not it was intended by the devs. Abusers can look like anything, sound like anything, dress like anything. People who look unassuming can still have immense power over others and use it to do harm. Astarion made him sound evil and scary because he is evil and he is scary to everyone he's ever harmed. What he looks or sounds like doesn't change anything he's done.

yet another reason why duke wyll spawn astarion is just so funny to me and by extension my favorite to think about: you have almost certainly cursed at the very least 4 generations of grand dukes of baldur’s gate to deal with a mean catty vampire at family reunions for the rest of their lives. wyll smiling down from heaven like yeah I hit that. maybe the great aunt eurinda is the astarion we made along the way. or something

Every time I play Project Zomboid anymore, I don't do anything exciting, I don't fight zombies, I just open my one old save and garden and make little meals because it's calming 😭 This time Collin made bread and had a sandwich!

The other day I encountered Gale's 'any undue, uh, excitement might trigger the orb' line in the wild for the first time. I of course already knew of that line's existence from a million smutty fanfics, in which it's pretty uniformly read as a euphemistic way of saying that if he gets a boner then the orb is going to go kaboom. What surprised me was the context in which he said it: I'd asked him to tell me what he liked about me, and he told me there were too many reasons for him to list 'and besides, any undue excitement' etc etc.

And of course you can still just read this as him saying 'if I start to think about why I like you, I'll start thinking about how much I want to fuck you, and then boner and then orb goes kaboom'. But although I think the writers (and Gale) definitely had the sexual innuendo in mind for this line, I also think that primarily he really does just mean excitement.

The kind of excitement he hasn't felt in a year. The kind of excitement he hasn't felt about a potential lover for much longer than that. The kind of excitement you feel when you meet someone you really click with, and you're starting to think they just might feel the same way about you. The kind of excitement that's breathless and giddy and causes your heart to race with much more than just sexual desire. The kind of excitement that's fundamentally an expression of hope.

And that's the thing that's really dangerous. Not that he might get a boner. That if he allows himself to hope – to look at something new in his life and set aside all the reasons it's impossible and let himself just feel the wonder of it, let himself imagine for a moment that he might somehow deserve it – then the orb, which after all is linked to his emotions just as much as to his body and his magic, might roar to life and break free of its chains and destroy everything he cares about.

No wonder his first reaction to Mystra's decree is acceptance. He's spent a whole year literally unable to hope for anything better for himself than limiting the collateral damage.

✨Empy sex scene appreciation post✨

I think his scene is beautiful. It's soft caresses and sultry kisses and passionate looks and curious exploration of each others' bodies. It's intimate and sensual. He shows vulnerability, he shows understanding if you're hesitant about his form, he shows playfulness by pulling you in with his tentacles, and then he rocks your world. So on top of everything else, he clearly cares about his partner's pleasure.

Also, I'm a proud "hhhhnnnnhhh" enjoyer because why wouldn't you love whatever sounds your partner makes when you're making them feel good and they're comfortable enough with you to let go and be themselves?

So many people look at it as haha funny joke scene or tentacle porn, which is wild because so many other scenes in this game are more explicit. This is one of the few sex scenes that isn't about sticking body parts into other body parts. Maybe they do that after the fade to black, but what we see is not like that at all. It's genuinely such a nice scene.

the bg3 community in general does NOT talk enough about how ludicrously OP gale was pre-folly and pre-tadpole.

- archmage. not an arbitrary title - awarded to 18+ level wizards. meaning he could cast spells through 9th level.

- chosen of mystra. akin to demigod-level status. slowed aging, chosen-specific abilities, direct access to the depths of the Weave, plus more.

- lover of mystra AND protégé of Elminster Aumar. privy to the most advanced Weave manipulation and magical tutelage.

imagine a situation where tav/his partner falls in battle and gale loses it. magic explodes out of him in raw waves. his grief/rage calls on the Weave without verbal control. he reduces the battlefield to cinders. blood pours out of his nose as he casts far more than his body can currently handle. his eyes glow. runes appear and disappear across his skin.

and the party remembers that oh shit. this wizard who cooked them stew and rambled about planar theory used to be a living magical weapon. and still has the capacity to be.

An Emperor take that I see a lot is that his character is designed to be different in different playthroughs depending on your choices. "If you're nice, he's good, but if you push him, he's bad." I disagree.

The Emperor who threatens you is the same as the one who doesn't. And the Emperor did do *something* to Stelmane (that we don't have any context for or know the full story of) whether or not you learn about it. His past and his personality aren't different based on your choices. That's a big part of why people hate him---they can't change him. (Aside from potentially pushing him toward different endings once you're fighting the brain or on the docks.)

When he does threaten Tav, it's not that he's a different person in that run. It's that getting scared and angry is just a normal reaction to being threatened by the person who holds his life in their hands. He's still the same guy who wants to work together amicably, who wants equals instead of thralls, who wants to defeat the brain, and who will part ways without harming you when the game ends.

If you're nice to people, they're usually nice back. If you're mean or threatening to people, they get upset and might be mean or threatening back. It's not being a different person or a mirror or anything deep. It's just how interacting with others works.

For a long time I've wanted to see if I could get all types of non-physical damage in one attack, and I finally did it lol. It's probably not something you could set up every time, and there's better ways to use certain gear, but it was fun just to try it. There might be other ways, but this was what I figured out.

Halberd of Vigilance (slashing and force)

Drakethroat Glaive -> Draconic Elemental Weapon pre-cast on weapon (cold)

Broodmother's Revenge + heal or just dip (poison)

Caustic Band (acid)

Ring of Strange Conduit + Hex on the person you're attacking (psychic and necrotic)

Flawed Helldusk Gloves (fire)

Speedy Lightfeet + Dash (lightning)

Phalar Aluve -> Shriek cast by someone else or Booming Blade (thunder)

Mantle of the Holy Warrior -> Crusader's Mantle cast by someone else (radiant)

I don't know if this is something that happens in vanilla or maybe if it's the party limits mod that causes it, but it's always so funny when things happen in the night, like Astarion biting you or Durge things, and in the background is just Wyll standing there drinking wine or Lae'zel sharpening her sword or Astarion reading a book, very clearly able to see everything and just choosing to do nothing lol.
