About reposting again

I love when people agree to the fact that reposting is bad. And since this is a big problem in every fandom I’m thankful for everyone who fights against that.

But I never saw something like that before and couldn’t imagine that something like that is possible.

I just saw a blog with really good content and even a reblogged “why reposting is bad” post. I thought about following this blog but then I noticed something. Their pic is a reposted fanart by someone who doesn’t want their art to be reposted.

And then I’m wondering if that person actually understood the whole reposting thing. I think not and that makes me cry.

I won’t call any names but I just wanted that to be seen for everyone who eventually made the same mistake or for everyone who is in my situation.

Let me explain that again very quickly:

Reposting is not acceptable and it’s even worse when you agree to that but continue reposting art because that means you didn’t understand the whole problem about reposting. You’re not helping the artist by using their art. And a language barrier isn’t a reason to not ask an artist for their permission. Use an translator if they don’t speak English and you can’t speak their language or…

Just don’t repost their art!
