My true story.
I first learned about the culture of Korea through Super Junior. By chance, my friend showed me one of their videos. I loved it. After that, I started engrossing myself in their culture.
I knew I had always wanted to do something big in my life. I loved Korea, but I didn't know if that was where God was calling me or not. I studied for a month there in July '11. I fell in love with the country. I found out that Korea was so much more than just kpop and dramas. Bathing in jimjilbangs... singing until my throat was raw at noraebangs, and making more friends than I've ever had before. True friends. Ones I bared my soul to.
It was odd. I went there for kpop, but once I was there I didn't even try to go to a concert. I was so enamored with exploring Seoul and not missing out on any cultural experience. Don't get me wrong, I still love my kpop, but I love the country so much more.
I have been accepted as an English teacher for Korea. I will be moving there in February, to the place that is my real home. I have never been so happy in my life. I thank God so much for giving me this opportunity and though I may stumble I hope to walk the path he has set forth for me.
