God Spoke to Me Today.
My mom has this undeniably bad habit of hitting me up last minute to take her somewhere or to pick her up from somewhere. This morning was no exception. (For anyone who has a car and spends $ for gas, you don’t want to go anywhere unless you ABSOLUTELY have too, ESPECIALLY on your day off, moving on..) I awoke from my slumber about 10 am, stretched my arms wide and immediately looked for my phone. I had to use the bathroom and those two things kind of went hand in hand. As I glanced at my messages I realized my mom had sent me a message about 30 mins prior asking for a ride at 10:45 am. As someone who needs their coffee before being approached, I immediately began shit talking, to myself. So I finish my biz-ness, head downstairs to now gulp my coffee. I’m still pissed and talking shit about how “it’s my day off”, “of course she thinks of me like Uber”, “i just fucking woke up”, “now I have to get dressed, get shoes on, ohhhhh fml”....*yeah, again... I NEED my coffee when I first wake up. It’s more of a safety thing to prevent ones head from getting bitten off. My kids know, they have learned the hard way. So, I stand there washing dishes while my coffee brews having a mental ‘Shit-Talk-Fest’ when the Lord and in all his glory said... “MY CHILD, CALM YOURSELF AND REMEMBER...SHE HAS THE GOOD STUFF”. No joke, she did, and it was like a deep voice loud, overcoming my other thoughts.. and HE was correct. She did have the good stuff, we’re talking Xanax, Pain Killers (I don’t know the brands, she does), tranquilizers, AND had recently returned from Oregon where she had asked the dispensary personnel where the best place to hide it was. (HAHAHA NEWBIES... btw Legal there, not here) and I had told her, her vaginay...*according to Broad City, “it’s the safest way to travel”.
So long story short, apart from my coffee, I needed my friend M.J as well, and my mother aka The Walking Pharmacy’ was my current resource for said relationship...I’ve never seen my own attitude change so quickly. At 10:45am I sat in my car waiting for her with a fucking smile on my face. As she got in, I was like “Hey, Bestie”!!!
