i don't think i ever actually announced that you can read Our Garden Under Heaven on ComicFury, so this is going to double as my official announcement post!!

somehow we're already over 100 subscribers over there, which is just CRAZY to me. i never bothered to make a cover originally because i didn't know how far this project was going to take me, and i'm kind of glad now because my art has improved SO MUCH over the past few months. i think i'll do another cover eventually (i already have one sketched) but i really love this one and i'm very proud of it :3

every time I learn about American imperialism towards indigenous people from around the world my blood genuinely starts boiling.

entire cultures and art and languages completely destroyed by the US government to further control the locals and essentially force them into assimilation.

“No one wants to look at art of OCs” I don’t think that’s true at all…I follow people specifically to see their OCs literally all the time. Bring back being curious about people’s OCs, asking questions about them and hyping them up like we did when we were teens

I think it would be better for discussions of decision-making in general, and decision-making by young people in particular, if we reframed decision-making from "avoiding regret" to emphasizing that: -It's okay to change your mind at any point, and -Your feelings at the latest/most recent part of your life are not more important than your feelings at any previous part of your life.

If someone says "You'll regret that in 20 years!" -- first of all, they don't have any possible way to know that, but secondly, what they're really saying is "I expect you to get 20 years of happiness out of that decision." 20 years of happiness is nothing to sneeze at. If you get married and 10 years later, you decide you don't want to be married anymore, and you get divorced, then, okay. You get to make that choice, and you got to be happily married for 10 years.

This whole cultural attitude is based on the assumption, not only that changing your mind is impossible or shameful, but that your life is a linear process of working your way towards a True Final Form, and that if you undergo any changes between [past age] and [final age], that means your [past age] self was not your True Final Form and should have been considered too young to make decisions. It's the underlying premise that at some point in your lifetime, your self-identity (sometimes synechdoche'd as "the brain") stops changing (spoiler: it doesn't), and then and only then are you your True Self; then and only then should you truly be allowed to make your own decisions, because your selfhood is fixed and your decisions will be free of regret.

It doesn't work like that. The self is constantly changing. Just go with it.

i always see people go "OMG ship proof!!! they are so in love here!!!!!" and the 'proof' is like. "i don't like when people are mean to my friends." okay.

Endlessly funny to me that I, a sex-repulsed aromantic asexual, have infinitely fewer hangups about sex and sexuality than the average heterosexual Evangelical. The thought of having sex myself makes me feel nauseous and I don't enjoy porn/most erotic content, but I am enthusiastically giving allo people who enjoy that stuff two thumbs up and defending their right to goon. I am pro-sex and pro-gooning, just not for me.

That's why it's also funny to me that a lot of aphobes and exclusionists act like asexual people are the ones driving purity culture and sexual repression. Like I'm pretty sure it's actually the religious fundamentalists who WANT to have sex/masturbate/etc but have been repressed about sexuality to the point where they think they'll go to hell if they experience sexual pleasure or desire outside of an extremely narrow context.

This is such an underhanded rhetorical move frankly. you can recognize that trans men face unique issues among men, you can recognize that transphobia affects trans men! You do not however need a conceptualization of bigotry that implicates the existences of a cross section between transphobia and "androphobia", because masculinity is privileged over femininity, and men will always be privileged over women of a similar class! Black men experience racism, but they are not discriminated against for being men, and within their own communities they are privileged over Black women because men as a class prioritize themselves over women for their own benefit. "Transandrophobia" is just the newest in a long line of attempts to parrot and refocus feminist languages and frameworks around men, which only makes any logical sense if you believe that women hold some privileges over men (which is not how patriarchy is structured!) Literally all people are asking you to do is realize that you have privilege over women in the same community as you, and if you cannot realize that then you are an active danger to all women.
