omg hi!! i haven't posted anything on here in a long time so i didn't think i'd be getting an ask! thank you for letting me know about this though, i didn't know but i LOVE that inclusion. snowgrave is very special and important to me, and i love how noelle is like... kris knows hikari fine. just like how everyone knows everyone here. but they can’t say they feel anything particular towards her. maybe the two of them just haven’t talked enough for that. still, though, they feel a kind of kinship with her. dropouts and losers, outcasts of society... they’ve always felt a little closer to those people than others. always knowing they weren’t going to make to a fancy college like asriel, they’d rot like so many others in this happy-go-lucky town, always feeling strangely like they don’t fit. (where are all the other humans, anyway?)

they tongue around their teeth for a second, finally spitting out a cardamom pod and crushing it under their shoe. mmm. minty. then they take the basket, barely offering up more than a word in response. “’k.”

taking a detour to the bunker after yesterday’s cyber adventure by themselves before school brought fruitful results. a dark abyss staring down, just like the other dark world entrances they had encountered. but instead of some weird laboratory or a creepy dungeon (like they silently hoped for), it was…. home.

not even a super messed up version of it with towering buildings and maniacally laughing villains, though there were obviously some differences, like the border surrounding everything. kris moved cautiously around, making sure to be unseen as best they could, until they apparently alerted someone they had stumbled by.

someone that just happened to be, themselves. holding a cup of something in one hand, which was now pointing to them as the other them asked them for their identity, and another holding onto the hilt of their sword on their hip.

for a moment, kris just stands there, confusion running through their mind before they remember, oh right, this other them has a sword too and is probably just as confused as them. not exactly in the mood to find out who’d win in a sword fight, they hold up their hands to start signing back to kris 2.

almost as if by sheer intuition, risk understands what’s being said. kris. it doesn’t escape the guard that their doppelganger’s name is an anagram of their own. what else is similar between them? do they have a sibling named... harca? or a goat dad? gro...ase? whatever. they put it from their mind, their expression steely as they regard the other.

“kris.” the word is repeated back. it tastes unfamiliar. like moss on their tongue. they don’t put their sword away. “how did you get past the border?” a pause. “did you attack anyone?” if this other them had been violent, risk isn’t keen on letting them slide away scot-free. they take a cautious sip of their hot chocolate, keeping red eyes trained on the other. a soldier through and through.
