Reign knew that Lorena would be more angry about this ambush than she was, so she avoided Sam’s eyes, he got himself into this mess, he was on his own, plus she couldn’t help but still be a bit mad at him for making that decision. At least she had Lorena’s full attention now, she could attempt to make things good without the other finding a distraction. “Yes, part of the reason I’m apologising is because of what happened in that room- because I thought I was dead, but it took that to make me realise that I’d made bad decisions- surely it shouldn’t matter how I came to that decision. I’m sorry and I know I did wrong now.” Reign explained. She would’ve much preferred that she hadn’t had to go through all of that to land herself in her current position.
“I miss you Lor- and it’s not easy for me to say that because I’d much prefer that I carried on pretending that I’m in the right in this situation, but I miss you and that’s why I’m apologising and making a fool out of myself to be friends with you again. Can you please just forgive me?”
She couldn’t believe that Sam, her own brother, her flesh and blood, went behind her back like that and tricked her. He wasn’t that type of person, he was too honest for a ploy like this. Lorena had doubts that he came up with it by himself, which only added onto her annoyance at Reign. She scoffed, rolling her eyes and crossing her arms defiantly. “Well duh. It matters to me.” In Lorena’s mind, if what happened in Santa Clara didn’t happen, she wouldn’t be apologising now, which meant that Reign hadn’t missed her as much as she missed Reign because then she would have apologised sooner. It was nice to hear that she realised that she was in the wrong and made a mistake. And Sam was right, she did much rather get her nails done with Reign than with him.
“Well I do like you begging me to be friends again and I admit that I also miss you...” She trailed off. Did she want to be friends again? Sure, but they couldn’t just brush past what happened. “Maybe. I don’t know. I can try to forgive you. Forgiving is the easy part. Forgetting isn’t. I don’t trust you right now.”

It had been a quick but necessary trip to Los Angeles for a food engagement with Lorena. Theodore had already agreed to host the birthday party at his restaurant on the following weekend and was looking forward to see all the guests. There was a kitchen full of incredible cooks but he had wanted to get his own hands on this to make sure it ran smoothly on the actual day. Already they had tried the hors d'oeuvres that would be served along with cocktail hour. Theodore had already articulated that the man of the hour enjoyed whiskey and other liquors so the rest of the food would pair well with whatever drinks were being served. For the next delicacies lined up were the entrees which was a mix of proteins and salads. All of which were small in portions for people to stand and eat or be able to sit if they would rather. It was part of organizing a party atmosphere as well as a sophisticated dinner.
“Perhaps we can have someone else try the steak and wings but the kitchen has mushroom risotto and three different salads coming out soon. I know there is also a cake being made at a second location but you are welcome to try the tarts and sorbets.”
“If you say the steak is good, I trust you. We don’t need to bring someone else in to taste it.” Theo had planned meals for her family events before and everyone always raved about it. She trusted his taste and if he said that would work for the party she believed that it would. “And I’m sure the guys on his team would love steak and wings so I see no problem putting it on the menu for the party.” She wouldn’t be having any of it, but she wasn’t the only guest at the party after all. Plus she knew her brother loved steak. Most men did. So she was willing to concede on that point. “Are the tarts made with glutenfree flour or are they made with regular flour?” Lorena had been reintroducing bread into her diet slowly and in small quantities, but she still preferred glutenfree alternatives as she felt like it was better for her body.

while maverick didn’t often wear balmain, she definitely appreciated the fashion house’s couture lines. there were a few dresses that might work for sam’s party the next weekend, but maverick knew that she also had a lot of saint laurent options waiting for her back home. ( being the face of the brand had resulted in quite a few freebies already — and her campaign wasn’t even out yet ) this shopping trip was more about lorena and maverick took it seriously, her eyes looking over the dress as she tilted her head to the side. “no, you’re absolutely right. it’s cute — definitely get it — but it’s not perfect for sunday.” a low hum escaped from her lips. “how nightlife-y do you want to go? like, are you going for something sparkly or a bit more understated?”
“It’s really not. I knew you’d get what I mean.” They were friends for years, after all. Mavi knew Lorena better than most people did. Lorena had a vision about the direction she wanted to wear at the party but she was open to try other styles on in case she found something she liked better. So far the two dresses she had tried on weren’t fitting for the occasion. “I don’t wanna go understated, this is my brother’s birthday, I need to shine. Sparkles are definitely on the table.”

location: Lorena’s apartment closed: @knightlorena
It was still interesting to Juliette that not only were Jordan and Lorena were neighbors and that’s how they met, but also that they were dating. She couldn’t think of two people that were more opposite than them but it seemed to work. Being close together and having their own space also seemed like a good win. Juliette had never been a fan of Lorena’s and never saw what other people saw. She had always been cruel and unreasonably hard to work with over the last couple of years. Over fashion week though, Juliette had seen Lorena in a different light. Whether it was because she was giving the other a chance because of Jordan’s sake or because Lorena was giving her a chance because of the Reign dilemma. It didn’t seem to matter as the two were slowly becoming close. She wouldn’t say they were friends, but Juliette was optimistic. After their situation in California last time Juliette had been here, she hadn’t seen much of Lorena other than being invited to a party later that week.
With the two living close by each other, Juliette had popped into Lorena’s apartment before Jordan as she waited for him to come home. Juliette appreciated the open space of Lorena’s apartment, not knowing what to imagine Lorena’s place would look like until now. She had met Prada before but bent down to say hello again. “I think your place is very nice. And it must not be too bad of real estate that Jordan lives close.”
Lorena smiled at how excitedly Prada was waving his tail when Juliette bent down to greet him. He was generally an easygoing dog and they had met before so that didn’t surprise her. “Thanks, I guess?” She wasn’t sure if it was an actual compliment or a backhanded one, it could be taken either way. Lorena chose to take it as a compliment, reminding herself that they were trying to be on good terms now. “My agent found this place for me last year. I wanted floor to ceiling windows that looked down on the city. Natural lighting is very important to me.” Her whole apartment was kept light in varying shades of white, nude, black and white. The art on the walls was more colorful to contrast the interior. As well as several posters of her magazine covers in the hallway leading into her apartment. Lorena liked her place, her favorite being the pink marble island in her kitchen. It had taken a lot for the builders to figure out how to transport it into her apartment, but it was definitely worth it. A statement piece. There was a bouquet of flowers in the middle of it at the moment, Jordan got that for her the day before.
“Do you want something to drink? I got Fiji, blk water or Voss if you want water. I could postmate a green juice as well, the place around the corner makes a great one.” Lorena offered, phone in hand if Juliette chose the green juice option. “What brings you to the city? Jordan said something about some castings?”

He wasn’t sure how the night would go, simply from knowing the kind of people his family were. It could either go insanely well, or incredibly bad. There never was an in between when it came to the Sheppards. They either loved something or hated it. At the end of the day, though, Lorena made him happy, and he cared about her. Nothing someone else, even his parents, could say that would change that.
He smiled as she walked over and twirled for him, showing him the outfit she had picked out. “It’s perfect, babe,” he assured her, closing the distance between them to put his arms around her and pull her in close. He covered her lips with his own in a soft kiss. “You look amazing, but what else is new?” he asked, chuckling when she said she’d blame him. “Blame away, I do have a tendency to being late to family events, it’s why my mom gets a little uppity about it,” he told her. That and his mother was possibly a little neurotic when it came to planning family events and having everything being on schedule.
When he green lit her outfit choice she sighed in relief, smiling into the kiss when he said she looked amazing. She needed to look her best when she was meeting his parents. She knew how her mom got when one of her brothers brought a girlfriend around for the first time. Her mom scrutinized every detail about those girls to make sure they were good enough for her son, so what if Jordan’s mom was the same way? “You look pretty good yourself.” Lorena gave him another kiss, sighing as she seperated from his lips. It’s better if they stopped. They really had to get going now or else they would actually be late. “So, is there anything I need to know about your parents before going in there? Something they like, something not to say? I could talk to your dad about Basketball, I’m afraid that’s the only one I actually know the rules too. I’ve never quite understood baseball or football.” They were gonna love her. They had to.
“I ordered some vegan desserts that we can bring with us. It’s in the fridge, let me just grab them.” It was from her favorite bakery. Lorena didn’t indulge in desserts often but now that Fashion month was over she could have carbs again, not as many as others but she wasn’t on a no carb diet anymore. She hoped his parents would appreciate it as she was taught not to go to someone’s house for the first time empty handed.

Where: Los Angeles Status: for @knightlorena
Things had been going really well between Jordan and Lorena, surprisingly well considering how their story had started. He was very glad for the developments, though. He liked Lorena, she kept him on his toes and kept things exciting. Even if her and her friends were pretty dramatic. Plus, she understood his schedules and needs while traveling and on project, wasn’t too clingy, but just clingy enough. A great balance. Things had been going so well and with them being instagram official now, that his mother had insisted on a dinner and introduction. Jordan wasn’t exactly looking forward to this family dinner, knowing something was sure to go wrong, but he was going to try to stay optimistic for everyone’s sake.
“Rei, babe, ready to head out?” Jordan called, securing his watch on his wrist before turning towards his girlfriend. “My mom’s going to be on my ass if we end up being late,” he told her. “Andy’s already dropped off the wine we’re taking.” knowing they’d need the drinks.
When they had first gone out in New York Lorena didn’t think it would lead to anything, if she was being honest. Especially due to how catastrophic their first meeting had gone. Both of them thought the other wanted to steal his dog. Thinking back to it now, it was funny, but in the moment it definitely hadn’t been. Especially the headline in TMZ about her. Not that it mattered anymore now. They had a lot in common and were able to have fun together. Jordan understood her better than most. He supported her in one of the worst times of her life, she had never gone through such a fight with someone as close to her as Reign and he’d been her rock during that time. Nervous to meet someone’s parents was not a feeling she was used to, but she wanted to make a good impression on them due to the depth of her feelings for Jordan. They had to like her. Right? Why wouldn’t they? She was Lorena Knight. The last parents she had met were Kit’s and they adored her, why should this be any different? At least that was what she told herself to calm the nerves.
“Almost.” She called out, leaving her walk in wardrobe as she walked over for him, turning around to show off her outfit. “Is this dress okay? Or should I go for something more conservative?” He hadn’t told her much about his parents so she wasn’t sure. “If we are late I’ll have to blame you. I want her to like me. But we won’t be late. Don’t worry. We can leave now.”

where: Balmain showroom, L.A, Monday November 10th
status: for @maverickhearst
There would be a photographer for People magazine at Sam’s birthday party, something Lorena organised as it would be good exposure for Theo’s restaurant and herself. She had planned an epic party, it should be documented so they could all look back on it later. In her mind it was a great idea. There’d be wavers to sign at the door, this wasn’t her first rodeo after all. That way the boring people who didn’t want to get photographed wouldn’t have their pictures in the magazine and the ones who signed it couldn’t complain or sue afterwards. Now all she had to do was find the perfect dress for the occasion. “So I feel like this dress doesn’t really scream ‘rooftop party’, it’s more like ‘garden party’ or nice brunch. Not really the vibe I was going for. This is better for an event during the day rather than a nighttime party. Don’t you think?”

When Sam had invited her over, she certainly hadn’t expected to see Lorena sitting there, in fact, she felt immediate anger at Sam for throwing her into this situation unprepared. Yes, of course she wanted to be friends with Lor again, but she hadn’t wanted to ambushed by it. Though, she supposed now was a better time than any, Lorena couldn’t run away from her now, or come up with some excuse to not talk to her. “Sam invited me,” she told her, entering the room with one soft glare at Sam, before she found herself sitting in a chair opposite her once best friend. “Look, I doubt this is what either of us expected for today, but seen as we’re here, we might as well talk Lor. I have said that I’m sorry, I will say it a thousand more times if you need me to, but I doubt that would be productive. I want my friend back.”
“Did he now?” Lorena raised an eyebrow, annoyed glare switching to look at her brother who raised his hands in defense. He didn’t accidentally invite them both here at the same time. She just didn’t understand why he did this. Rolling her eyes she put her phone down, crossing her arms over her chest when Reign sat down opposite her. “You can say sorry a few more times, maybe one of those will sound believable. You only apologised to me because you let the Morgans trick you into believing you died. So I’m wondering how much longer it would’ve taken you to come to this realisation. Or if you would’ve ever apologised if that didn’t happen...” She wanted to know that Reign had actually missed her, like she had missed Reign. Not that she would admit it first.

When her brother invited her over to hang out and go through the list of who she had invited to his birthday party, Lorena didn’t think anything of it. It was less than two weeks away so timing made sense. They had crossed out some names, added others, when the doorbell rang. When the doorbell rang, Sam went over to open it, letting whoever it was inside. Looking up from her phone she realised who it was, her relaxed demeanor quickly changing into annoyance when she saw that it was Reign. Sure, Lorena missed her, but she was still mad at her. She didn’t want to see her anymore than necessary. “What are you doing here?”
