listening carefully, he gave the other a soft smile as he moved in closer. âcome on - iâll help you then.â looking around in place for a moment, he chuckled to himself as he then turned towards the other. ââ mood right? letâs see if we can ask someone to point us to the right section and weâll get started there, iâm actually now curious what they might have on moods⊠but, i hope that friend of yours is okay⊠and i hope this might help.â nodding, marcos turned as to make it over to where he might be helped - being told where to look he began to make his way over, arms crossed as he looked at some of the books before him. âalright. i guess letâs get to work then yeah?âÂ
âYeah,â Hudson nods, amused by Marcoâs instinct to ask for help in a magical library. âBut, you donât have to ask anyone. I mean,â he pauses, tucking the book under his arm. âYou could, but you donât have to.â A vague gesture towards his head, âyou just have to concentrate on what ya want. Think about it and eventually, youâll get this like... hunch on where itâs at.â

âi â i donât know ⊠sorry, i didnât mean to assume.â cringing to himself as he stepped back he shook his head. taking a long swig of his flask he took this moment to just mentally reset. hearing the rest of it he started to take it in and he couldnât help but laugh to himself. âso weâre both on the same boat then, yeah? â and here i was wanting to see you use lightning bolt.â marcos moved over towards the books and began to look around more. âthen â what were you trying to find here then?âÂ
âBeen looking for books on mood,â Hudson seems to deflate as he admits that. âNot for myself, but a friend. Something really awful happened to him and heâs been down. But, Iâve got attention problems...â he gestures towards his head. âSo, every time a random thought pops into my head, I end up with books on it. Like with lobsters, I suddenly started to wonder if there was such thing as sea spiders and scorpions, and---â he knocks a wooden shelf beside him. âNext thing I know, the libraryâs lured me to the books about lobsters and crabs.â

beau stands up, flattening the front of his shirt as he looks at hudson and shakes his head. he closes his eyes and counts to three before he opens them again and settles them on hudson. âiâm not even your friend.â he laughs a bit, the smile on his face forced. âitâs funny. i was always one of the few people who stood in your corner and helped you out, but you canât do one thing i ask which is simple enough: donât do something that will endanger the others.â he turns and begins to walk away, tossing a look over his shoulder. âgood luck without me watching out for your hudson. weâll see how long you actually last.â and with that, beauregard leaves mageia and leaves hudson behind.Â
âI can tell,â Hudson turns his focus to the instructions, reading the same line over and over again as Beau goes about his mind games. He keeps quiet through it all, waiting until the demigod leaves before turning to Mara, pitching his voice as high as he possibly could. âDonât go on quests. Donât do anything on quests, when you do. Donât do things first. Donât touch Amadeo---in fact, donât acknowledge he even exists!â Mara quirks her head, Hudsonâs voice dropping as he frowns and hunches over the book. âHe might as well ask me not to exist anymore.â
Mara gurgles something out, earning a sigh from the demigod. âAt least I still got Liam to count on, yeah?â Hudson pulls a partially knitted mess from beneath the table, dropping it on the book with a deepening frown. âThe more I look at it, the less it looks like a snowflake and the more it looks like a blue ân white spider.â Another sigh, followed by a yawn and a stretch. âMaybe we should go take a nap.â The chair legs scrape against the floor as he pushes himself out of it, beckoning Mara to follow him home. âTry finding a book that can help tomorrow or... somethinâ.â End.

Hudson told his story and Blake listened intently, making sure to take in every detail that was presented to him. When the other finally finished his explanation of the trails, Blake couldnât help but let out a nervous chuckle, waiting for the others face to crack too. âYouâre kidding right?â A pause. It lasted longer than he wanted it to. âSurely youâre kidding?â Locked in the dark for days on end, tormented by clowns and surgeons and demons. It sounded horrific, the kind of thing that could change someone, scar them for lifeâŠbut maybe that was the point? âW-whyâŠwhy would he do that to you? Put youâŠus, through that? I know itâs relevant to him being Deimos and allâŠbut thatâsâŠnot the kind of shit you put your kid and his friends through.â There was a sudden chill down Blakeâs spine, mouth going dry at the thought of what everyone might have to endure in the upcoming trial, what other gods would put them through, especially if it was dependant on their powers. ShitâŠhow long would they be held underwater when trialling for Poseidon? Would they have to actually die to trial against Hades? âI umâŠIâm sorry you had to go through all that. Fingers crossed the next oneâs lessâŠâ he couldnât find the right words so he let it trail off.
âI mean, to him and our parents, all of that was probably tame? And it coulda been worse!â Hudson quirks his head, a hand reaching up to rub his neck anxiously. âAnd besides, the mom was a vampire and her daughter begged us to us to stop her. Look,â Hudson sighs, letting his hands drop to his sides. âI dunno what the others learned from it, but the lesson I picked up was---that I canât go around taking peopleâs fears or turning their fear into hope---â There had been a lot of lessons packed into such a small amount of time. âPeople arenât want they appear. Yeah, she was a grieving mom, but she was also a vampire and she wanted her resurrect her daughter and turn her into one. And the kid...â The demigod frowns as his gaze falls to the floor. âHer worst fear was being turned into a monster. If I give the wrong person hope, all I do is I hurt the innocent souls who actually deserve and need it.â It didnât make watching the poor woman die in such a violent and horribly way any easier, but at least he knew to be more careful with his power and identity. âIâm glad we went through it. Iâm glad I went through it.â

sometimes he wonders if hudson ever actually aged up or if it was just his body. beau stares at him with a bored expression on his face and leans back in the chair, crossing his arms over his chest as he waits for the man to finish his tantrum. âare you done?â beau questions, voice short and brimmed with a temper. âi meant raising the dead through a quija board or some strange ritual. use your powers, use the shades.â he waves a hand dismissively. âbut donât resurrect them just because you think you can.â he stands up, already done with the conversation. âand grow up, hudson. act your age, not your shoe size.â
âI can do whatever the fuck I want,â Hudson re-opens his knitting book the moment Beau leans away. âYou are not my mom. You arenât my dad. Your arenât my boss and youâre not my boyfriend.â He bares his teeth at the son of Aphrodite, his patience for the control-hungry twink wearing thinner by the second. âSo, leave if you arenât here to help me.â

âsure i can. i have ways of stopping men from being themselves all the time.â he grins, tilting his head to the side and flashing one of his brilliant smiles in hudsonâs direction. itâs all for show, all a plow heâs used countless times to get what he wants. âkeep the dead, dead. no bringing back stalin or anyone else for that matter.â he closes the book that hudson opens with a little bit of force. âi do not want to have to help save you all from something that one of us created. got it?â
There were very few times Hudson was okay with people being this controlling, and right now---while he sat surrounded by crafting books and a handful of random spellbooks---was the worst time for it. Beau had never been uglier than he was this very moment. âSo, I canât use most of my powers.â He states out loud, voice devoid of any emotion as his gaze flickers down to the now closed book on knitting. âAnd I canât have Mara around,â the black cat-like mound snoozing on a stack of books to his left lifts its head, a dozen sleepy eyes slowly blinking open at the sound of her name. âor the little buddy that runs around me when I fight. And I canât use the---â he pauses, to lift the necklace out from beneath his shirt. ânecklace. Since it brings the dead back out for a while.â The demigodâs gaze finds its way to Mara and he gives her a mock pout. âSorry, Mars, looks like we wonât be having tea parties with Arietta anymore.â The shades eyes narrow at the son of Aphrodite as Hudson gestures at him, âAll because captain lame pants doesnât like having fun!â

the elbow swings back and beau dodges it easily, a simple side step that keeps his face perfectly safe. he tsks, shaking his head as he moves around the table that hudson is at and sits across from him. âiâve always been good at sneaking around, hudson.â beau sounds bored and his gaze moves to his hand as he looks at his nails for a moment. âwell,â beau starts, leaning across the table. âif it puts any of them in danger, you know what iâll do to protect them.â he reaches forward and bops hudson on the nose. âand that includes if you become a danger to yourself.â
âStab me?â Hudson says, casting a suspicious glance down towards the manâs waist. He really couldnât picture Beau stopping him any other way. âIâm always a danger to myself.â His lips quirk at the corners. âI think it comes with being my dadâs kid.â He shuts the book heâs been buried in---thought not exactly reading--- and slides it away. âYou canât really stop me from being me.â He grabs another book off a pile, flipping it open to a random page. âJust like I can stop you from running into stuff head and hands first.â

after convincing someone to let him into mageia, beauâs search for hudson begins. heâs pointed toward the library and heâs quiet with his movements. he doesnât want the other spooked and running when he comes in. he sees him through some of the stacks, a mountain of books and pages upon pages scattered around him. cerulean eyes flash rose for a moment as beau marks him. slowly, like a feline predator, beau stalks closer. his footsteps are light, barely making a sound against the floorboard. he slinks up behind him, peering over his shoulder as he gets right next to hudsonâs ear.Â
âdonât even fucking think about it.â
âFudge Muffins!â Hudson nearly jumps up, but instead shoots his elbow back towards Beau. It doesnât take long for him to recover though, and heâs soon laughing to himself hysterically. âYouâre getting good at sneaking around!â he says in between snorts as he turns around to face the younger male. âwatchya gonna do if I did, huh? You donât live here. So, whatâs it to you?â

Tucked away behind a mess of books and notebooks, Hudson pauses when he hears the library floorboards creak nearby. His brows crinkle together, wondering if one of the other demigods had come down to put a stop to the things he spouted on the phone chat. Slowly, the demigodâs head rises and he peers over a stack of books towards the noise, eyes narrow in suspicion as he searches for a face. âMaybe Iâll summon a giant man-eating spider instead...â he murmurs out loud, attempting to lure the other individual closer. It could be an acolyte, which Hudson didnât mind scaring either. âIt can live in the attic or the basement!â

âtraumitized more than we already are - sure, love that for us.â he laughed awkwardly as he thought about the trial and he wondered so much about if, even if he was ready for anything. listening to the small fact the other began to tell him, marcos couldnât help but cock his head and try to not burst out laughing. ânot what i expected when â when you said if i wanted to learn something new.. i thought you were about to show me how to get better at all this and â i guess lobster facts could work.â marcos took the postive side of this and laughed. âit was cute â but no, really â show me the good stuff.. there has to be something cool in this books right?â taking the flask from his side pocket, he flipped it opened and took a quick swig of the wine that coated his lips. âcare for a drink?âÂ
â
He shakes his head at the offer, his brows rising up to his hairline at the other manâs assumptions of him. âDo I look like a wizard?â Hudson asks. âI mean, I did just switch, but I ainât no wizard or witch.â He wasnât quite sure what the difference was between the two---if there even was one---but he felt it was probably best to mention them as well. Couldnât have the new guy thinking that was the only thing Mageia produced. âI used to be in Aspida before this, so Iâm kind of new to all of this wizarding magic stuff, too. The only magic Iâve learned is how to make myself a real Pikachu.â He wrinkles his nose, playing with the edge of his book. âHavenât tried it yet---super expensive getting all the materials.â

Blake couldnât help laugh a little at the nickname, one he surprisingly hadnât been called yet. âYeah I heard about that,â he slowed himself so the other could keep up with his walking pace. âI was gonna say ainât that the one thatâs specific to each demi? How-â a pause, wondering if he was allowed to ask so many questions, â-how do those things work? Like I assume it ainât like a normal quest like weâve been on?â
âWell, yeah, and itâs kind of complicated?â Hudsonâs head bobs at the first question. âItâs gonna be his dad testing him and us a little bit, but mostly him.â He wasnât sure if all the trials were going to go about a similar manner as his did. âand we gotta help him get through it.â The demigod toys with the chain of his fatherâs gift to him, adjusting the necklace around his neck. âUh, for mine, we went to Draculaâs castle and wandered around for a few days in total darkness with the occasional jump scare and anxiety attack. Well, I did,â His nose wrinkles as he recalls the others having gone through far worse things. âEverybody else had to run away from killer clowns and plastic surgeons---some of us got possessed and tried to kill each other---and then we had to kill a grieving mom who was just trying to bring her daughter back from the dead.â He lets out a slow breath, eyes wide as he remembers the womanâs screams as Jordan torched her alive. âThat part was rough.â

arms crossed - he knew he was still new in their eyes, but he didnât see it that way. â â when am i going to not be called that anymore.â he rolled his eyes while he moved over to look at the books around them. âiâm always in the mood to learn - something - anything⊠so hit me with it.â marcos really felt ready to get out there and start to understand more what he might be capable of - which scared him but also made him excited to learn.Â
âI think weâre all new compared to the ones who grew up here.â Hudson points out as he leans up against a bookshelf. âBut, give it til the trial---once youâre as traumatized as the rest of us---nobodyâll call you newbie.â The demigodâs brows jump at the request. âUh, Lobsters talk to each other by peeing in each otherâs eyes?â He answers awkwardly, unsure if he really wanted Hudson to hit him or if he wanted a random bit of information. âThey can also taste with their feet.â

âyou like fucking me out in nature, donât you?â beau asks him, chuckling. he wonders if hudson remembers before, out in the wildflowers, before he was reverted back to a child. heâd enjoyed that day, quite a lot actually. he takes hudsonâs hand and stands up before he stretches his arms over his head. âto the mountains.â he says with a laugh and a roll of his eyes. âif you still have the same dick, there will most likely be sexy times io give the trees and rocks.â
âYeah, you look extra nice up against it.â Hudson follows Beau, his joints creaking like the old man heâs become---or at least, like the old man he feels like heâs inhabiting. Bodies sure had a way of falling apart after thirty. He was surprised with how willing Beau seemed to be to venture off into nature, but then again, he supposed anyone accepting their fate as a demigod would have to be okay with outdoor activities. âIf I have the same dick?â Hudson arches a brow, a smirk slowly slithering across his lips. âYouâve been thinkinâ bout my dick, Beau? Worried about it?â

âYo, Speedy Gonzales.â Hudson greets the son of Hermes as he passes by him. âWe got a trial cominâ up,â he states as he decides to follow behind him. Blake had been around for months now, so he technically wasnât new, but he was part of the half of the demis that have never been on a trial before. âYou excited âbout it? Ready to be nearly killed by our parents to help Viorel prove his worth to his dad?â

beau lets their fingers lace together but he doesnât hold them. he sighs for a moment, thinking about what they could do. âwell, thereâs clubbing, shopping, actually doing something thatâll get us high.â he could think of plenty of places to get some drugs and it wouldnât even cost them a dollar. he hums as he continues to think. âi know plenty of ways to get the blood pumping but most of that requires sex.â he leans back against the chair heâs in, eyebrow arching. âwe could go explore some of the mountains around here. see if we find any mystical animals or something.â
As Beau lists off his idea of fun, it dawns on Hudson just how different the other male is. âI think we have different definitions of fun and exciting,â he muses out loud, eyes wide and distant as he tries to picture himself enjoying clubbing or shopping. Slipping out of Beauâs lap, the demigod grins, offering a hand out to help the other male up and out of his seat. âBut exploring the mountains sounds great! And if we donât find anything,â he leans in, brows waggling, âwe could always give the trees and rocks a sexy little show!â

izykxvissarâ:
âAh,â was all he said and with that he finally had an answer to almost a decade long question of what his brother had been obsessed with. Why it had to do with this house was another thing that just raised more questions. Not that he was going to ask them. âGlad I am not the only one then.â He said with a small sound that almost resembled a chuckle. Izyk had spent too much time recently locked away from the world against his will that now he needed out to see and surround himself with it all once again. âYes and I do.â Reaching behind him he grabbed his trident from where it had been strapped to his back. Gripping it with his right hand his brows furrowed some at the next mention of a giant bird. âWhy has no one killed it yet?â
Rustic eyes settle on the trident---or as he liked to call it---the giant fork. âCute!â Hudson chirps out, forcing a smile onto his face. The way he spoke of the others in House Aspida and now finding out his first instinct when it came to giant cattle eating birds was to kill it. âUh, because itâs just living itâs life?â The demigod quirks his head at the question. âWhere else is it going to go live that wonât end with humans trying to kill it other than here? Besides, we donât want to piss off whoever made the thing.â Not yet, at least.
