i always thought it was funny that caliborn only used the r word like once in the comic considering that, if you were going to make this argument, he’s one of like four characters that could have a genuine slur reclamation case built for him

dave only ever gets to be 5’9 due to mild malnutrition and various other growth stunting activities in his youth but alpha dave got to be like 6’5 and once dave finds this out from dirk he steams about it for like three weeks

Jane, Roxy, and Rose run some kind of scripted horror/true crime podcast. I will not comment on whether or not it's any good.

Dave gives off middle school science teacher vibes. Whenever he's swamped with grading he calls up Jake. He used to call Jade too until her 'science experiment' left a crater in the school parking lot.

Dirk and Jade are no longer allowed to scheme together after The Incident. It started with a Gundam marathon.

John is the single most helpful friend ever. Jane will call him up to ask if he can help with the bakery and he'll be at the door in ten minutes. He's the beta reader of everything Rose writes. He's the only thing standing between the girl's podcast and it being so complicated that no one can understand it.

What each kid would be if they hadn't ended the world

John: Never has a single job for more than a year. Has done everything at least once.

Rose: English major that then ended up at a bland desk job. She has a few published works.

Dave: You know those kids that became teachers because one teacher saved their life growing up by just being the only adult who would listen? Dave's a teacher.

Jade: Physicist. She can't vent about her work because none of her friends would pass a security background check. She shouldn't be able to pass one either but the Feds never found that out.

Jane: Corporate if you want her to be miserable. Owning a Cafe if you want her to be happy.

Dirk: Engineer. Have you ever met an Engineer? Dirk is just the right kind of autistic to be an Engineer.

Jake: Ecologist. He spends his days hiking through swamps to find and catalogue fungus and he is the happiest he could possibly be. He somehow manages to get bit by something on every outing.

Roxy: Have you ever met those cyber security people who have done every single drug known to man and are actual wizards? Like John McAfee if he was a very different kind of nuts.

The only one of the beta kids who should be in any way competent is Jade. Rose and John are normal 13 year old levels of competent and Dave doesn't know what broccoli looks like.

Jade, Davepeta, and Terezi are the only ones who don't fall for it but they sure as hell aren't going to deny June her fun so they help with the gaslighting.

Look, as much as I love June having all these really nice and emotional coming out moments, I think she should be allowed to use her gender for comedy. She goes on HRT for like 5 months without telling anyone and shows up at the next hangout with her friends looking like a totally different person. She gaslights them into thinking that she was always a girl. Everyone starts panicking because this seems like peak timeline fuckery. Shit goes to the Earth-C equivalent of DEFCON 2 before she reveals the gag to everyone. The effects of her coming out are catastrophic. There are no survivors.
