it's always so alarming looking at the notes on posts about people's cool experiences with ttrpgs and seeing the sheer number of people saying something along the lines "unfortunately this relies on the assumption that the players aren't huge shithead assholes who are actively trying to fuck each other over and make sure their gm has a bad time."
like. yeah, it sure does. that's kind of a baseline assumption for me, the same way that when I invite friends to a potluck I feel perfectly safe assuming that no one is going to spit in the food. do you guys actually like the people you're doing recreational activities with? blink if you need help.

"no one will control me ever again." is such a fucking tragic line for vivienne too. because she never really escapes that control. it just trades hands. from the circle to bastien to celene to the inqusitor, vivienne is always beholden to someone else. her status is banked entirely on the approval of her allies, to the point where if vivienne IS made divine, even that does not protect her should she not be in the good graces of the inquisitor. just. agh.

god, I'm so, so tired of seeing the biphobia regarding the bg3 companions.
No, Karlach isn't "actually a lesbian". No, Astarion isn't "actually gay". they are all bi/pan. canonically. just because Karlach is a big muscle woman and Astarion is a flamboyant twinkish man doesn't mean that either of them are any less bisexual.
when you say shit like "Astarion is romanceable for both genders but I think he actually is gay!" thats just one of the most basic biphobic stereotypes reheated. since time immemorial bi men who are not stereotypically masculine have been accused of being gay, actually.
erasing these characters' bisexuality because it doesn't fit your stereotypical idea of what a "real" bi person is like is just plain old biphobia and I'm getting tired of repeatedly seeing companion headcanons rewriting their sexuality to better fit into shitty stereotypes.
#a lot of people who used to play dragon age goes on to play bg3 and i get to see that none of them had gotten any less biphobic in 10 years#<— prev#lol yep#baldur’s gate

i keep saying “hyv keeps stealing my ocs” as a joke but it’s not funny anymore
#from what i’ve seen of him that new dude in genshin is so similar to one of my oldest and dearest ocs#and it actually is getting to the point where this is hurting me#this is what…like the 5th time? that they’ve made a character that’s basically just one of mine 😭#i’ve lost track#i used to think i had some pretty cool original ideas for my characters#but if a lazy ass gacha game company can turn around and do the exact same thing…how good are my ideas really 😞#sorry lads we’re going through it this morning

the biggest loss of animated movies trending towards sympathetic villains/no villains is that we dont get enough crazy death scenes anymore. stuff like tarzan's villain accidentally hanging himself or help i'm a fish's villain drowning and floating away silently on screen. sometimes your movies just need stuff to scare 8 year olds shitless. its good for the enviroment i think. probably.

i think not enough of us were paying attention in math class when they tried to imprint the idea that knowing the answer isn't good enough, it's also about how you know you have the answer and why. in other words, a vector of critical thinking
