I’m usually trying to avoid this kind of topic (mostly for mental health reasons- admittedly I deleted this post earlier ‘cause nerves, but I think it should be discussed) but I think you’ve wrapped this up incredibly well Ellie and I hope more people see it

That said personally I’ve never cared for the term g/t for sfw spaces- the “tiny” part always felt too reminiscent of f3t!$h content for me (again, do what you do, I’m simply not interested in that)- and the term itself has proven to make things difficult when trying to describe the interest to those not in the loop, because they pick up on that too

But- seeing as alternative ideas rarely get anywhere without having something to kick off brainstorms- I’d like to propose some different options

B/L, or Big/Little (not to be confused with boy’s love. That may be an issue for confusion itself)

B/S- or Big/Small

H/D- or Height Difference

And L/L- Little/Large

Now this is just to get some thoughts going- I’m not asking for any of these in particular to be used. Idk if any of these might be terms in other places either- hopefully not- but I think this fandom could go a lot farther if the labels it uses were different, and I’d love to see others’ takes as well

Obviously this is up for discussion, and I wanna be clear that the intention isn’t at all to isolate the nsfw side or anything of the sort, but I do think there are arguments (like the current one) that could be very easily avoided if things were separated more. Of course I don’t know what all the nuance of this might be either, so if that presents an issue somehow I’d like to know

I needed some time to think about the discourse ™️✨

1. If you’re a minor, use your filters with the scrutiny of a surgeon to filter everything you or your parents are not ok with seeing on your dash. Not the filtered tags, rather the filtered content list, since the former will not protect you from reblogs if the re blogger doesn’t tag the content appropriately.

2. If you’re a creator, tag your content appropriately. You are not responsible for how people will reblog it, with or without any ““controversial”” tags, but the more specific you are yourself with them, the easier it will be for anyone that doesn’t want to see it to avoid it.

Note: on one hand, I genuinely feel like this is something everyone knows they have to do and do it properly. But sometimes, I do catch people that haven’t tagged their stuff correctly.

3. Accept that sometimes you will see stuff you don’t like. It is the nature of the internet. You can curate your dash and you can simply press the “don’t show me content like that” button.

Note: But why not be curious and adventurous about it?… who knows, you might find something that you like. Personal example, for the longest time I automatically avoided F/m G/t dynamics because I thought they would immediately lead me to kinkier material. Slippery slope or whatever. And thus, I denied myself to explore a whole subset of dynamics, by any means sfw! To my dismay really.

4. DO NOT go to vore/inflation/armpit/kink/the not squeaky clean artists ™️ or their friends and tell them they are a disgrace and they are weird for doing what they do. The fact that you like very large people makes you weird too if you think about it like that

I genuinely think it’s one person going around trolling everyone to poke people- which- very rude really 🙄

5. DO NOT drag minors into nsfw spaces… it’s a shame when you see people you admired have done such obvious mistakes…

To the people that want a sfw SizeCon equivalent. If we want that kind of event, we have to work for it. If anything, our friends over at SizeCon can show us how they do it. They seem to have figured it out. And they are our friends. It’s not us against them. This community has always been a spectrum gathering many different niches. Some people have made the comparison already with the furry and the anime fandoms and I can’t agree more. When the interest is so broad, it’s gonna attract a variety of niches.

We also have to accept that it will most likely be very small. Or we might need to accept that people do not have the resources to attend an in person event like that at all! Sorry y’all, I’m not flying over to the eagle land 🦅🇺🇸 to talk about how handheld material heals my soul. If we want community, let’s first try to maintain it online, healthy and active, and then we see about the live events.

Now, I also empathise the sfw artists that feel a little weird sharing spaces with other specific niches. Those who had an interest and were discouraged on exploring it because the first thing they saw on the internet was kink art or a niche they didn’t vibe with. There was thread recently going around about how Gt is a rather vague term. Not immediately recognisable, not really selling the appeal. If the sfw material has a different kind of appeal, do we perhaps need another label for it?

I’m probably missing something. I’m definitely ignoring something.
