@solarcitymelodies​​ wrote an awesome post about the theory that KARR is nonbinary. Besides the iconic “Don’t call me ‘boy'” quote, I’ve noticed a few other things that support the headcanon.

In Trust Doesn’t Rust, KARR ignored whatever Tony and Rev called him (“it,” “stupid hunk of tin,” and “sweetheart”). He let others define him and rarely argued. That’s a contrast to KITT vs. KARR, when he gained the confidence to speak up for himself and say how he wanted to be referred to.

He doesn’t mind he/him pronouns, they’re convenient and familiar to him. He’s masc-presenting, but he’s not a “boy.” It makes sense that he’s comfortable with they/them pronouns too. Also, he knows singular they/them is grammatically correct; he says “them” instead of “him or her.”

KARR’s character arc also adds to the vibes. In KvK, he decided to change his appearance to better suit his individual identity and to distance himself from the past. His original voice was also changed, and though canon doesn’t mention it, it can be assumed he chose his new voice.

His identity isn’t based on how other people perceive him. In TDR, he said he’s “not just a car.” In KvK, he said he’s “not a car.” He learned to define himself instead of letting the world do it for him.

(Started this back when I first watched the episode and made the 'don't call me boy' post. Actually got flack from people about that post, so I forgot I started a little Reader/Karr bit about it)

You have to sit and listen while rattles numbers off in rapid succession. When he finally stops, you're almost afraid to ask what he said.

"I… I don't actually speak binary KARR. You're going to have to translate that for me."

"You asked me to say 'something,' so I did."

You swear he would be smirking if he could.

Kitt liking both classical symphonies AND thrash metal because both genres have a ton of musical nuance that the average listener doesn’t notice but Kitt would love to pick apart while he’s listening to it.

I call this headcanon “Bonnie getting whiplash whenever she asks Kitt to pick the music while she’s working on him.”

So yes y'all know that one post where it's a screencap where Karr says "don't call me boy" and I kinda jokingly was like "he/they Karr??" yeah I can't ever make jokes without taking it way too far so here we are, considering this as an actual genuine headcannon I have 💀 BUT ANYWAYS yeah I'm using that one quote as one of my talking points what about it

Also wouldn't being a literal car kinda mess with your idea of gender identity ,,, just saying ,,, like I honestly think he just goes by he/him because that's what everyone calls him by I don't think he really has a Connection with it at all whereas with Kitt I feel like he would have that connection with it and yes this is completely baseless other than the Vibes I get, why do you ask? But basically yes I feel like Kitt has more of an actual connection with pronouns n such but Karr doesn't really get it or understand why anyone cares he's just like "they're literally just words guys what does it matter :/" until he figures out that APPARENTLY not everybody thinks about it like that

I have no idea how he'd figure out they/them pronouns even exist I just feel like he'd kinda vibe with them and be like "cool I can use these too" because like .... he already knows he doesn't really care either way but he doesn't really feel right using she/her because that would just be objectively strange for him and everyone involved so. he's just vibin now

Basically if I wanna headcannon that this random character goes on a mini journey of self discovery regarding his gender n stuff ummmmm I can do that because I'm very gay and this is MY tumblr dot com blog

Bonnie Barstow because she’s my favourite character and there’s nothing you can do to stop me drawing her continually.  I saw Clone High JFK’s eyes and lost my mind a bit so now when I draw Bonnie she has the slanted eyes. I realise it is an acquired taste. Anyway I stayed up until midnight to make this so I hope you appreciate it.  I’ll probably do another KR Merch review tomorrow I have many things. Goodnight ✨

Not to have a spicy take on my sideblog,,, but while I find attempts to humanize/androidize KITT admirable, is it really so bad to have him remain a computer in a car?? I feel it's important to his character to be presented as a machine that has to confront vulnerability and short comings that are not human in nature. It presents him and Michael as having parallels in their lack of control over circumstances without having the exact same struggles.

Again it's totally cool to see different takes on human KITT but idk maybe my taste is different. His humanity means more -to me- coming from a place of not experiencing what it's like to be human at all.
