the insane experience of missing a fictional character . like you can always go back and reread the book , replay the game , rewatch the show or movie , you can always go back & see them , but you can never experience them & their story for the first time again . its absurd to miss them because they'll always be there , but you'll miss when there were still new things for them to say .

for a small time they were real & growing and changing and you hung onto every new word, but now all they can do is repeat the same story forever&ever & they're not real anymore because you know everything they're going to do. & you miss them. its fucked man...

(btw slight spoilers for “Hybrids: Experiment Crossover” if you’re able to infer stuff/I mention some things *shrug*)

I’ve been writing Ruri out of the past few chapters in experiment crossover because I have no idea what to do with herrrrr

I need to give her a role in a way but now I’m also adding yuya and yuzu and now that it’s been like a week since I last posted the chapter where ruri, yuya and yuzu go back I don’t think I can change it to write yuya and yuzu out as well T^T

I shouldn’t have even added them in the first chapter anyways T^T

like I mean I might make yuya become friends with yuto since he’ll be there as well, Yuto needs another friend anyways

Ruri and Yuzu on the other hand have nothing to do because Rin and Yugo (sorry synchro sweeties) have not been mentioned in any way shape or form and Serena is with Yuri and Reiji

I think I might be able to make Ruri and Yuto friends as well but like— YUZU WHAT ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO DO??? I SHOULD JUST MAKE YOU GO WITH SERENAAAAA, THE PROBLEM IS I HAVE NO CLEAN WAY TO DO IT, YOU, YUYA AND YUZU HAVE NOT BEEN DEVELOPED IN THE SLIGHTEST DHEIEIISIDISJEIDHCUUESKBCH

You know what would’ve worked better? Yuzu and Yuya don’t appear in the first chapter. In the chapter after Reiji, Yuri and Serena go to the warehouse (sorry, even if you’ve read the fic this is kinda a spoiler although Yuto does mention it in the latest chapter) Yuzu finds them, that way she’ll have a role with Serena and Yuri so we can have 4 (reiji, serena, yuri and yuzu) and 5 (yuya, yuto, ruri, sylvio and shun) which is more even that 3 and 6.

I could still possibly add that in but instead of her just discovering them (which would be pretty unlikely cause like why is she at an abandoned empty warehouse???) though the thing is that she’s going to the Kurosaki’s now what to do with Ruri…. I guess I could kinda make her interrogate Yuto because in one of the earlier chapters she went to study with him (just an excuse for me to write her out cause I don’t know what role to give her, also just because I didn’t want to juggle 4 characters because Reiji would come in later. Literally in most of the dialogue it’s typically three characters talking) I wanna make Ruri a badass so desperately but I just don’t know where to include it or how to build up to it :(

Yuya also doesn’t have much of a role if I’m being honest but I think he and Yuto could have a good friendship

Speaking of friendship, I’m probably going to remove the Sylvio/Shay tag because the original idea for this was absolutely thrown out the window and burned to a crisp. I will also bring removing the ‘Sawatari-centric’ tag as that no longer applies.

For those of you who have at least read the first chapter, you know that Yuzu and Ruri both find Sylvio. To remedy that Ruri finds Sylvio and calls Shun. She originally doesn’t tell him that there’s a fainted person and waits. When Shun arrives he sees Sylvio. They take him home and wait for him to wake up. Things go as normal til Reiji comes in with his plot screwing powers :3 that way I don’t have to deal with the fact I mentioned Yuya and Yuzu then just did nothing with them

So NOOWWW Yuya and Yuzu come into play a little later. Yuya meets Yuto and since Yuto doesn’t have a place to stay Yuya brings him in since Yoko likes adopting strays (Yuto will make a lie about being abandoned by his family or something of the sort)

Yuzu doesn’t have a role currently because both Serena and Yuri are hybrids with exceptional senses (panther and viper) they’d evade her tbh, Yuzu does come over to Yuya’s house every once in awhile just because they’re close friends. She sees Yuto and they start talking, Yuzu asks a lot of questions because she wants to get to know her and yuya’s new friend. Yuto feels bad about lying to them and finally tells them the truth. That is how they get informed instead of majority of the characters (I think literally all the non-hybrids) getting informed by Reiji

Serena and Yuri still go to the abandoned warehouse but they found it on their own instead of having Yuto suggest it. In the chapter they debut physically Reiji hands them bracelets, (I’m not going to say too much cause the concept isn’t even fully developed) HOWEVER, in this, Reiji gave them bracelets after he helped them escape. They use that to send a message to Reiji.

Reiji gets their location and sends a message back that he’ll be there. He leaves the Kurosaki’s and Sylvio to go to Serena and Yuri. He tosses Sylvio a bracelet before leaving. He only made bracelets for the hybrids he was searching for so Ruri and Shay don’t have any

Now it’s 3 (Yuya, Yuzu and Yuto), 3 (Shay, Ruri and Sylvio) and 3 (Reiji, Serena and Yuri)

That makes the groups even now. There’s obviously still going to be tweaking where some of this planning gets twisted but that would’ve been a good starting point had I actually planned it.

I find things easier to understand when I have the answer then work backwards to find the way to solve it

Is anyone else like that lol?

I hate that I hadn’t planned this much in advance because some of this could’ve been avoided but nope, I didn’t cause this wasn’t even the original idea, Reiji just screwed it over, really, really badly

tbh I really like the idea (the one currently in writing) still it’s just that I still don’t have any plans (aside from chapter 6) and I’m not posting every other day like I did before writing chapter 5 in which it took me 3 days to write it and I have posted since a week ago

writers are creatures that feed on comments by the way. if you want more of your blorbo from them, give them lovely comments. they love that and will most likely give you more fics about your blorbo

Do y'all ever read a fic so good that it makes you want to elevate your own craft and also befriend the writer? It's almost like, "Hi! You write so well that you've inspired me to embark on a creative training arc. Also, can I yell about the character in your dms because you get it?"

"I didn't comment on a fic I liked because I don't think the author would care or remember my comment anyway". fanfic writer here, I still remember comments I got on my fics from seven years ago. I still think about them and they still make me smile. your kind comments are what motivates us and what helps us keep writing.

I personally know writers who take screenshot and print out comments they got from their readers.

TL;DR comments matter to us writers more than you think. if you like a fanfic, never be shy to let the author know ♡

Aren’t you typically supposed to use them when dialogue is separated by an action?

like:

“As you can see here—“ she gestured to the diagram on the screen, “—this example shows XY.”

Cause that’s what I use it for, sometimes people also use it for cutting people off (I do that as well)

“But you don’t know if—“

Character A cut them off, “B, you know as well as I do that it is true.”

"If you use em dash in your works, it makes them look AI generated. No real human uses em dash."

Imaging thinking actual human writers are Not Real because they use... professional writing in their works.

Imagine thinking millions of people who have been using em dash way before AI becomes a thing are all robots.
