It's funny when you think that Mark was away from Amber for three months to help another planet, but he didn't want to be away from Eve for a few hours to help those time travelers and then in the War of the Invincibles he decided to stay put in the hospital next to Eve who wasn't as seriously injured as some say while the world was being destroyed and left his mother and brother in danger and also his friends and obviously I include among them Amber who was his first love and for whom he showed to be so in love that he simply decided not to go see if she was okay because I'm sure he had an idea that one of the Invincibles might go after her, but I shouldn't be surprised, after all he didn't even care about his own mother or brother

Do you have any headcanons for markamber?? More especifically, Omniamber?? I'm just obsessed with them, specially after reading your drabble 😫💞

Okay, so help describe this relationship, I will be linking some personal headcanons on this blog. The only thing I ask is for my HCS linked here not to be reblogged.

These HCS will be for Omni!Mark's dimension.

So, in this link, I described the issues MarkAmber faced OmniMark dimension, he did not keep this a secret from Amber, as in fact, she was one of the few people he told within the relationship. With Mark training under his father to be a hero and getting his powers much sooner, I totally see him not interacting with the Teen Team/Atom Eve. So that is how Amber became important to him as they bonded and grew closer. He also balanced more of his time with her and his hero responsibilities, since his powers came sooner, he could balance everything better. Main!Mark and Amber had these issues I listed above due to his powers being new, and he was still trying to figure everything out. OmniMark got his powers years before meeting Amber and had time to adjust, understanding who needs to know and balancing hero/personal life.

Amber's Toxic Ex-Boyfriend/Pet Names

So Amber had certain nicknames she would not tolerate being called due to a toxic ex, and with the trauma she had to endure. OmniMark learns very quickly not to call her these names, and she opened up after a few months why she hates them after she was accidentally triggered into a panic attack. Main!Mark never learned about Oscar, as that is a deep wound that someone very close would have to learn. However, as soon as OmniMark learned about this ex, the first thing he did he kill the guy slowly. Never tells Amber because he knows how he frowns about killing people for personal reasons or innocent people. In truth, the only reason Mark is better at fighting when it comes to not causing destruction is due to Amber. Still, he is not above killing people, especially after the accident that killed his Amber. His father taught him humans were lesser beings, and Amber was the exception to this. OmniMark hardly uses pet names for Amber as he might refer to her as Embers, being close to her name, but he won't call her anything after learning what she associates when hearing certain ones. Plus, he doesn't like to be referred to with affectionate nicknames either; he likes hearing her call him Mark/Markus (when she's mad at him).

Ghanaian Heritage

Amber's father and grandfather came from Ghana, and her mother is African American. However, she still celebrates/learned about her heritage. This influences her style as well. This is why she wears so much jewelry, as it feels normal to her. Plus, she is allergic to nickel, so Amber learned how to make jewelry the traditional way with glass beads. You bet she made some for Mark and her to wear. Even matching sets. OmniMark loves learning about Amber's heritage and even wanted to surprise her by learning some stuff, such as dances from her father/grandfather, so he could surprise her. Not a very good dancer, but it was the effort that mattered. Plus, that is why he brings her back rocks/crystals so she can make jewelry from them. He's crushed coal into diamonds for her.

Volunteer Opportunities

When Amber takes an aboard Volunteer opportunity, OmniMark gives her a lift, flying her. He would also come to visit her when she had free time, even if she was halfway across the world. Sometimes when she does local volunteering, he will help out, such as at the soup kitchen only due to Amber volunteering there.

Amber's death/hatred for Atom Eve

Mark was going off-planet for a mission alongside his father, so he wanted to get it done as quickly as possible. He never imagined his last conversation with Amber would be I love you as he left her in her college dorm. When he came back, they learned there were issues from villains/planet was invaded, as Amber was a part of those casualties. Atom Eve was there when she died, claiming she did her best to save her, but the accident caused by her powers resulted in Amber's death. This was the breaking point for Mark when he killed Atom Eve, as she did not care. He lashed out, even killing his own father who dismissed Amber's death and referred to her a a pet. If he had been here, he could have protected her. They had a whole idea planned for their life together. In fact, he had planned on proposing to her on her birthday in a couple of months after dating for nearly a year.

Ideas/Wishlist

Okay now I shared some main highlights in OmniMark relationship with his Amber, I wanna share some ideas/plots with Main!Mark's Amber. If before the variant war, what if Angstrom confronted Amber, thinking she was still dating Mark, until he learned otherwise? However, she acts like she purposely hates Mark, trying to protect him as she does not want to be used as leverage against him again. Levy decided to 'reward' her by sending her to a dimension where she would be appreciated properly. She ends up going to the OmniMark dimension before he was recruited for the Variant War. OmniMark thinks she is someone trying to use the appearance of Amber against him until he learns that she truly is her. Another idea is that he stumbles across her during the war, as she is not at the University because she was taking a trip with her boyfriend. He talks to her to see if she is alright, but only takes her to safety when another variant comes, as he saw how scared she was of him. However, when her safety was at risk, he was not going to take chances, even if he did make her uncomfortable, scooping her up. Protecting Amber becomes his primary mission, and he even goes rogue against Angstrom, which is how he can avoid getting stranded with all the other variants. Amber will come around to love him as his for she was his now, and he was not going to let her leave his side. He's already making a plan on how to go off-planet to either start a new life with Amber or figure out how to go back to his dimension with her.

I really can't help but be irritated by the way Amber was written in the first season of Invincible. It seems like the writers knew exactly what they were doing when they put something in the series that wasn't even from the comics: Amber knowing that Mark was a superhero and still being irritated by him. The writers didn't even show when exactly she knew he was a superhero. It would have been better if they hadn't done it that way, or at least had shown it more carefully, because the racists just wanted an excuse to throw even more hate at Amber. Plus, there was no need to make her Black, knowing she's not the girl Mark would have a future with. If Robert Kirkman really wanted more representation in Invincible, he would have made Eve Black and left Amber white, so the damn stereotype of a disposable Black girl wouldn't exist in this series. There's another thing that also bothered me, as silly as it is, but even though Mark and Amber's scenes in the second season were very sweet and romantic, the writers didn't include parts that could have been just as good. Like Markamber kissing in the sky, Mark looking at her with his eyes shining (him doing this with Eve and not with Amber for me was crazy and no I'm not a hater of Markeve, this is just my opinion) I also would have liked them to have put a cute scene of them in bed after having sex in that college room, it would have been fun, I would have thought a scene where Mark is all hurt and Amber takes care of his wounds and then kisses him while they both talk about what happened was beautiful and without a doubt I also would have liked to see Amber bond with Debbie and Oliver, my God there were so many things that could have been done that the fact that I know that now it's too late for that makes me very sad.
