Varèse Sarabande Records announces the digital release of THE DEVIL WE KNOW – Original Documentary Score on December 7th. The score features music from Composer Brian Tyler (CRAZY RICH ASIANS, YELLOWSTONE). “Composing the score for THE DEVIL WE KNOW was a truly personal experience for me,” composer Brian Tyler shares. THE DEVIL WE KNOW tells about one of the largest lawsuits in environmental history, staring a gym teacher and cattle farmer who led the citizens of a small West Virginia city to battle the multinational chemical megaliths, Dupont and 3M. In tribute to this heroic struggle, Composer Brian Tyler creates a rich audio panorama for the tale of one of the biggest environmental scandals of the modern day. “I wrote the score thematically and used multiple pianos, electronics, guitars, cellos, rhodes electric piano, and my own voice to make the music.” Tyler said. As he continued he was honest about his desires for the music, “ My hope that it will take the listener on an auditory journey that echoes the true story of this film and the remarkable people that stand up to powerful foes with truth and bravery.” Directors Stephanie Soechtig (UNDER THE GUN, FED UP) and Jeremy Seifert (GMO OMG, DIVE!) present an unusually engrossing human-interest documentary amongst the complexities of industrial pollution, corporate secrecy, and governmental lobbying. (November 30, 2018 - BURBANK, CA) – WaterTower Music is pleased to announce today’s release of the original motion picture soundtrack for Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle, the reinvention of Rudyard Kipling’s beloved masterpiece by acclaimed actor and director Andy Serkis, in which a boy torn between two worlds accepts his destiny and becomes a legend. Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle will see a limited theatrical release from Nov. 29 in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and London, and will then be available globally on December 7, only on Netflix, and will have an expanded theatrical release in additional theaters in the U.S. and UK.

The film was scored by British composer, producer, album artist, club DJ, songwriter, broadcaster, multi-instrumentalist, orchestrator and cultural tastemaker Nitin Sawhney, who is recognized as one of the most distinctive and versatile musical voices around today, achieving an international reputation across every possible creative medium. Sawhney also wrote the original song “Changes” which appears in the film and on the soundtrack and is performed by singer / songwriter Kara Marni.

Nitin Sawhney discusses working on the film: “The challenge of creating a fresh musical vocabulary and theme that would entice us into Mowgli’s universe was irresistible. That Andy Serkis was directing made it an unforgettable experience in the waiting. Andy is nothing short of a genius. The stunning film, of stellar performances and endlessly epic scenes, scored itself.”

The director further elaborated on the collaboration. “As I was trying to search for (Mowgli’s) tone, its heart, its pulse and rhythm, I knew one thing in my heart. That I wanted my friend Nitin Sawhney, one of our generation’s greatest polymaths, an extraordinary voice in world music, to create the score for what was to hopefully become a visceral and immersive adaptation of Kipling’s work,” explains Serkis. “I knew that he would completely understand and empathize with Mowgli’s journey as an outsider who is trying to work out his place in two changing worlds. Being of Indian descent, yet having grown up in Britain, Nitin was perfectly in tune with the movie’s themes. We began to talk excitedly about creating an aural landscape that would bring jungle sounds and music together, weaving themes that spoke of a taught yearning soul, combined with a mythical journey towards destiny. And then, Nitin sent me Mowgli’s theme... it was one of the most beautifully haunting, uplifting and moving pieces of music I had ever heard, and it marked a huge turning point, an energy that brought the film to life. Nitin and his team of magicians had created its musical soul.”

Nitin Sawhney, amongst a multitude of international awards, holds six honorary doctorates and two fellowships from British universities and was awarded the Ivor Novello Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017. It was presented to him by his friend and collaborator Andy Serkis, for whom Sawhney also scored the true story romantic drama “Breathe” that same year.

ETHAN GOLD RELEASES SOUNDTRACK TO “THE SONG OF SWAY LAKE”

RELEASES SOUNDTRACK AND VINYL 7” TO AWARD-WINNING FILM

“THE SONG OF SWAY LAKE”

(November 19, 2018) LOS ANGELES – Performer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Ethan Gold shares his latest collaboration with independent film director and twin brother Ari Gold, resulting in the soundtrack behind the jazz-inspired drama, “The Song of Sway Lake.” Title tracks from the album feature vocals from American singer John Grant and English indie folk trio The Staves. The original soundtrack is released digitally by Lakeshore Records and is currently available for purchase on major digital platforms. The album is available on CD through Gold’s label Electrik Gold, who will also release a limited 7” vinyl on Record Store Day, Friday, Nov. 23, 2018.

The soundtrack album opens with two versions of the title song: the Lost Record Version sung by Grant and arranged as a late ‘30s intimate crooner track on vinyl, and the Big Band Version sung by The Staves as a late ‘40s pop hit. This is followed by the film’s romantic and ethereal instrumental score, played in sequence. After an intermission of Haitian jazz, listeners are treated to Sketches of Sway — a collection Gold’s otherworldly finales, alternate arrangements, and sound experiments inspired by the themes of the film. The final two tracks return the listener to the title song, with two demo versions sung by Ethan Gold.

A story of the fading of jazz-age American royalty, “The Song of Sway Lake” tells of the last summer of the Sway family on the lake that bears their name. The musically-inspired drama sees Ollie Sway (Rory Culkin) travel with his Russian drifter friend, Nikolai (Robert Sheehan), to the fictional Sway Lake. The film also features Mary Beth Peil as the matriarch, narration by Brian Dennehy, and Elizabeth Peña in her last role prior to her death.

“The two young men in the film, and the grandmother, have all replaced the grief they don’t know how to feel with a burdensome nostalgia,” Ethan describes. “The instrumental score itself is like a higher perspective for the lost characters. It’s the silent water of the lake, the ghosts of the father and grandfather, and the dark energy of the forest.”

“Scent and music are the strongest triggers of human memory,” explains director Ari Gold. “And because you can’t smell a movie, I counted on the gifts of my twin brother Ethan, whose abilities I've called upon in prior films, to weave his brilliant music into this setting, and to catapult the audience through frozen time.”

Ethan Gold first stepped into public consciousness when he produced and arranged Elvis Perkins’ blog-hyped “Ash Wednesday.” In between moonlighting as bass player in his brother’s celebrity-driven folk party band the Honey Brothers and also in San Francisco literary rock project the Size Queens, Ethan scored his twin’s debut film “Adventures of Power.”

Since then he released his debut art rock album “Songs from A Toxic Apartment”. While completing the score and songs for “The Song of Sway Lake”, Ethan released a pair of idiosyncratic albums in 2018 — “Live Undead Bedroom Closet Covers,” and the naive-electronic “Expanses (Teenage Synthstrumentals),” through Electrik Gold.

John Debney's score for John Favreau's Christmas comedy ELF is a hyper-stylized and witty celebration of all things Christmas, just like ELF itself. After inadvertently wreaking havoc on the elf community due to his ungainly size, a man named Buddy (Will Ferrell) raised as an elf at the North Pole is sent to the U.S. in search of his true identity. The largely orchestral score would fit seamlessly into all. The score is a funny and apt companion piece for any fans of the ELF film and this picture disc release makes the album an essential collector’s piece not only for fans of the score, but for fans of the franchise who want to own a picture disc for an iconic film.

SHREK is the second most successful animated franchise of all time, earning over 3.5 billion dollars at the box office. It has an incredibly adventurous animation score that is a rare collaboration between two very accomplished film composers: John Powell and Harry Gregson-Williams. In the film, after his swamp is filled with magical creatures, SHREK agrees to rescue Princess Fiona for a villainous lord in order to get his land back. SHREK has also become a successful musical production, originally debuting on Broadway in 2008.  

David Newman’s orchestral score for ICE AGE served as a perfect foil for the unlikely group of a mammoth, sloth, and tiger traversing the Earth because of the planet's shifting climate; and a squirrel’s desire for the ever elusive acorn. ICE AGE is the third most successful animated franchise of all time. It is the first ever vinyl release for any ICE AGE film and features every fan’s favorite animal characters. When asked about the music, composer Theodore Shapiro focuses on the person at the heart of the film, “The music for DESTROYER comes first and foremost out of the character of Detective Erin Bell, played by the wonderful actor Nicole Kidman.  Guided by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi’s superb script, and through extensive conversations with Karyn Kusama, we as a team began to wrestle with how to give a musical language to this profoundly complicated female protagonist.”

In DESTROYER, A police detective reconnects with people from an undercover assignment in her distant past in order to make peace. The moral and existential odyssey of LAPD detective Erin Bell, whose undercover assignment to infiltrate California desert gang ended in tragedy. When the leader of that gang re-emerges many years later, she must work her way back through the remaining members and into her own history with them to finally reckon with the demons that destroyed her past. Directed by visionary Karyn Kusama and starring Nicole Kidman in the performance of her lifetime.

Shaprio continued about the wonderful and nuanced work and his pride in working on such a layered and well-realized project. “We collaborated with four brilliant musicians to create a sound that is obsessive, animal, fierce, but also tinged with a layer of pain and regret.  I wrote an hour of music before Karyn started shooting the film.  So unlike the more typical sequence, in which the film is shot first and then the composer starts writing, Karyn had a library of original music to help inspire her during production, and then incorporate into the film as she edited.  The result, through her brilliant direction and Nicole Kidman’s stunning performance as Erin Bell, is something of which I’m deeply proud.

About Composer Theodore Shapiro

From the upbeat, jazzy sounds of THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA to the jungle-adventure send-up of TROPIC THUNDER and the sentiment of the hit MARLEY & ME, composer Theodore Shapiro has consistently delivered memorable music for some of the funniest movies of the past five years. But in a corollary to the old acting bromide “dying is easy, comedy is hard,” Shapiro steps gingerly when adding music to the antics of a Jack Black, Ben Stiller or Owen Wilson: “If you’re ever making a gesture that gives the audience permission to laugh, you have to be very judicious with it,” he explains, “because the worst possible thing you can do is to push the comedy too hard.”

His careful touch has made him a sought-after collaborator for some of Hollywood’s leading comedy directors: David Frankel (Prada, Marley), Stiller (Tropic Thunder), John Hamburg (I Love You, Man, Along Came Polly), Mike Judge (Idiocracy) and, most recently, Harold Ramis (Year One). Shapiro, 37, is a rarity in modern film music: a classically trained composer (bachelor’s degree from Brown, master’s from Juilliard) who, despite commissions for classical works (including a well-received piano concerto in 1999), decided he’d rather be working in film. “A lot of the seminal cultural experiences of my life were in the movie theater,” he says during a writing break at his comfortable Glendale, Calif., studio. “As a 9-year-old boy, ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ had a major impact on my life. I’ve always been very connected to the medium.”

Shapiro followed the usual route for a fledgling film composer: low-budget, independent films, often made by friends, one of which, Karyn Kusama’s Girlfight, won major awards at the Sundance Film Festival and led to a two-film collaboration with celebrated playwright (and sometime film director) David Mamet, on STATE AND MAIN and HEIST. Director Todd Phillips liked Shapiro’s thriller score for Heist and hired him for his 2003 comedy OLD SCHOOL. Its success, in turn, led to Shapiro’s current status as Hollywood’s go-to composer for edgy comedic fare: STARSKY AND HUTCH, DODGEBALL, FUN WITH DICK AND JANE and others.

Los Angeles October 31, 2018:  Lakeshore Records will release If Beale Street Could Talk—Original Motion Picture Score composed by Nicholas Britell (Moonlight) worldwide digitally on November 9 with a vinyl version forthcoming.  It’s Britell’s second collaboration with writer/director Barry Jenkins and the follow up to his Academy Award-nominated score for Moonlight—the Best Picture Oscar winner directed by Jenkins in 2016 (who took home the Best Writing Adapted Screenplay Oscar).  Britell brings his limitless creativity to the themes of love and injustice anchoring the film and creates a score sublimely straddling the worlds of classical and jazz.  The sound ranges from lush to uncompromisingly experimental thoroughly inhabiting the film to striking and unforgettable effect. Annapurna Pictures will release the film which stars KiKi Layne, Stephan James, Teyonah Parris, Colman Domingo and Regina King, in select theaters November 30.    

Set in early-1970s Harlem, If Beale Street Could Talk is a timeless and moving love story of both a couple’s unbreakable bond and the African-American family’s empowering embrace, as told through the eyes of 19-year-old Tish Rivers (screen newcomer KiKi Layne). A daughter and wife-to-be, Tish vividly recalls the passion, respect and trust that have connected she and her artist fiancé Alonzo Hunt, who goes by the nickname Fonny (Stephan James). Friends since childhood, the devoted couple dream of a future together but their plans are derailed when Fonny is arrested for a crime he did not commit.

Says Britell: "It was a truly special experience to collaborate with Barry on If Beale Street Could Talk. Together, we explored a sonic landscape filled with brass and strings, while also venturing into some quite extreme experimentation. I'm always fascinated by the mysteries of scoring a film. As Barry and I worked together, we discovered certain sounds which we felt deeply resonated with the story. I'm so honored to have been a part of this film and to have had the opportunity to work with Barry again."

Says Jenkins: “Working with Nick on the score for If Beale Street Could Talk was a wonderful continuation of the process we began on Moonlight. In channeling the voices of James Baldwin, our main character Tish and the rich array of souls she encounters and the moods and themes she charts, we arrived at a sound that I feel truly honors the wonderful text that Baldwin gifted us while creating a distinct soundscape for this literary adaptation.”

ABOUT NICHOLAS BRITELL

Nicholas Britell is an Academy Award-nominated composer, pianist, and producer.

He encores with writer/director Barry Jenkins on If Beale Street Could Talk after composing the score for the Best Picture Oscar winner Moonlight. Mr. Britell’s score for the latter earned him an Academy Award nomination, as well as Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice Award nominations, among other honors. In October 2017, Mr. Britell was awarded the Discovery of the Year Award at the World Soundtrack Awards in Ghent, Belgium, as well as the Distinguished Composer Award from the Middleburg Film Festival.

He composed the original score for Adam McKay’s Oscar-winning The Big Short and has since reteamed with Mr. McKay to score Vice, starring Christian Bale as Dick Cheney, as well as Mr. McKay’s HBO television series Succession. Mr. Britell’s music was also featured in Steve McQueen’s Best Picture Oscar winner 12 Years a Slave, for which he composed and arranged the on-camera music including the violin performances and spiritual songs.

Other movies for which Mr. Britell has composed the original score include Valerie Faris and Jonathan Dayton’s Battle of the Sexes, for which he also wrote and produced, with singer Sara Bareilles, an original song, “If I Dare;” Natalie Portman’s A Tale of Love and Darkness as well as the director’s segment of New York, I Love You; Adam Leon’s Gimme the Loot and Tramps; Gary Ross’ Free State of Jones; Steve McQueen’s short film Caribs’ Leap; and Jack Pettibone Riccobono’s documentary The Seventh Fire.

Britell is a Steinway Artist and is a Founding Member of L.A. Dance Project. He is also Chairman of the Board of the New York-based ensemble Decoda, the first-ever affiliate ensemble of Carnegie Hall. He was awarded the Henry Mancini Fellowship from the ASCAP Foundation in December 2012 and also won the ASCAP/Doddle Award for Collaborative Achievement.

He produced the short film Whiplash, directed by Damien Chazelle, which won the Jury

Award for Best US Fiction Short at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. He subsequently served as co-producer on the Best Picture Oscar-nominated feature version that Mr. Chazelle directed, which won three Academy Awards and many other accolades.

As a pianist, he has performed for over six years as part of the critically acclaimed

“Portals” project with violinist Tim Fain. Mr. Britell gave his first public piano recital at the age of 10 and was a student of the late Jane Carlson at The Juilliard School. His recent public performances have included concerts at London’s Barbican Hall, at the Million Dollar Theatre in Los Angeles, and at Chicago’s Ravinia.

Mr. Britell is an honors and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Harvard University, as well as a piano performance graduate of the Juilliard School’s Pre-College Division. He was honored to be the commencement speaker at the Juilliard Pre-College Division’s Commencement Exercises in May 2016.

ABOUT BARRY JENKINS

Academy Award winner Barry Jenkins was born and raised in Miami, Florida. The Florida

State University graduate’s feature film debut, Medicine for Melancholy, was hailed as one of the best films of 2009 by The New York Times and received several Independent Spirit and Gotham Award nominations.

Mr. Jenkins, along with playwright Tarell Alvin McCraney, received the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for his second feature, Moonlight, which won Best Picture at both the Oscars and the Golden Globes [Drama]. In addition to earning eight Academy Award nominations, ten Critics’ Choice Awards nominations, six Golden Globe Award nominations and four BAFTA Award nominations, Moonlight won Best Feature and Director at the Gotham Awards and Best International Film at the British Independent

Film Awards. The New York Film Critics Circle and the National Board of Review named him Best Director, and the Los Angeles Film Critics Association named him Best Director and the film Best Picture. Mr. Jenkins was also the recipient of a DGA Award nomination and the winner of the WGA Award for Best Original Screenplay.

He directed an episode in the first season of the Netflix original series Dear White People. His upcoming projects include an adaptation of National Book Award winner Colson Whitehead’s The Underground Railroad for Amazon, which he will pen and direct. He is also writing a script for a coming-of-age drama based on the life of the first American Female Olympic boxing champ, Clarissa “T-Rex” Shields.

Mr. Jenkins is a curator at the Telluride Film Festival and a United States Artists Smith Fellow.

ABOUT HANS ZIMMER

German-born composer Hans Zimmer is recognized as one of Hollywood’s most innovative musical talents‚ having first enjoyed success in the world of pop music as a member of The Buggles. The group’s single Video Killed the Radio Star became a worldwide hit and helped usher in a new era of global entertainment as the first music video to be aired on MTV. Zimmer entered the world of film music in London during a long collaboration with famed composer and mentor Stanley Myers‚ which included the film MY BEAUTIFUL LAUNDRETTE. The Album features original music by astounding Composer Jonathan Beard (STAR WARS: THE OLD REPUBLIC – KNIGHTS OF THE FALLEN EMPIRE).

A generation after the “Change”, a zombie virus that ravaged modern civilization, Anna (Lulu Antariksa), the last of her family, must choose the isolation of the only four walls she’s ever known or the unpredictability of a desolate wasteland and monsters.

Jonathan describes scoring WHAT STILL REMAINS, “In exploring the uncertain world that our characters face, the film unfolds as a complex and engaging psychological thriller, and the score needed to musically reflect that reality. We’re really looking at a Hitchcockian psychological tapestry, dialog scenes where what’s being discussed on the surface is 100% cover for what’s being insinuated below the surface, and the score gets to dance between those two levels.”

Anna encounters Peter (Colin O’Donoghue), who promises community of companionship and protection, and Berserkers, humans dressed as “the changed” searching for victims of their own. While Peter’s group may not prove exactly what Anna wants, they may be what she needs but Anna knows that nothing in WHAT STILL REMAINS is free.

“Peter presents a delicious musical opportunity: an intriguing and initially sympathetic character who is ultimately not what he seems. The theme for Peter is built around an unsettling four-note motif that obfuscates major and minor modes becoming more claustrophobic and intense as it progresses,” explains Jonathan, “Working with director Josh Mendoza, as well as stars Colin O’Donoghue and Lulu Antariksa, has been a dream. There’s nothing more enjoyable musically than getting to augment nuanced and compelling acting performances from a great cast, with a director who loves what music can bring to a film”.

Jonathan Beard creates music for media and the concert stage.  As a composer, his recent projects include scoring the feature films like FRANK VS. GOD and guest-composing for ABC's ONCE UPON A TIME.  For the stage, Jonathan co-composed the oratorio The Passion Of Anne Frank for the Los Angeles Master Chorale as part of their Voices Within residency, and his original theatre-score for Driving Miss Daisy received an NAACP Theatre Award nomination.  He also recently completed the I-Park Foundation Artist Residency for his in-progress electroacoustic opera Cesare, Child Of Night. One of the most sought-after orchestrators in Los Angeles, Jonathan values collaboration with other composers very deeply.  He has worked closely with composers Junkie XL (DEADPOOL, THE DARK TOWER) and Bear McCreary (10 Cloverfield Lane, Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.) for many years on numerous film, television, and video game projects, and more recently with composers including Abel Korzeniowski (PENNY DREADFUL), Heitor Pereira (Despicable Me 3) and Gordy Haab (Star Wars: Battlefront), among others. He studied classical music at Oxford and sang in the St. Paul’s Cathedral Choir—but simultaneously got involved in the underground rave scene and began producing popular electronica music and dance remixes, eventually working with artists such as Seal and The Art of Noise. In 2006 he caught the attention of film composers Hans Zimmer and John Powell, and began writing additional music for Zimmer and Powell on KUNG FU PANDA, and then for Zimmer on THE DARK KNIGHT, THE DA VINCI CODE, and THE PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN films, which rapidly led to scoring blockbuster films on his own.

ABOUT HAROLD FALTERMEYER

Born October 1952 in Munich, Germany, Harold Faltermeyer was raised in a countryside neighborhood just outside the city. The family played music as a part of daily life. His Grandfather was a gifted violinist, Grandmother had a beautiful classical Alto soprano singing voice and Harold’s Father Hugo played excellent piano. While Harold studied music at Munich’s prestigious, Hochschule fuer Musik full time, he also worked at the Deutsche Grammophon recording studio as a volunteer technician. He learned sound engineering, and was also honing his skills in electronic music, programming synthesizers, composing, arranging and conducting. This dedication paid off with his first big break – working as right-hand-man to Giorgio Moroder, producer of Donna Summer and pioneer of the Disco Movement.

Harold worked for nearly two years in Giorgio’s famous Musicland Studio in Munich before he got the chance to write songs for Donna Summer’s new album Bad Girls in 1979. Hot Stuff is still one of the all time Disco classics. Then, while working with Moroder in Los Angeles on American Gigolo, Harold met movie producers Jerry Bruckheimer and the late Don Simpson. In 1983 they offered Harold the opportunity to compose the music for their new feature Thief of Hearts. Soon after that, he was hired for Beverly Hills Cop, Top Gun and Beverly Hills Cop II. From 1985-1992 he wrote the music to several more successful movies – Fletch, Running Man, Fletch Lives, Fatal Beauty, Tango &Cash and Kuffs. Collectively these movies garnered 5 Grammy nominations, 2 Golden Globe Nominations and one Academy Award nomination.

Harold won two Grammys and several awards abroad. The theme from Beverly Hills Cop – AXEL F. was covered by various groups around the world. In 2005, two decades after its origin, the Crazy Frog version of AXEL F. became the biggest selling ring tone to date. The CD release of that version also hit the English charts and went straight to # 1, being one of the top selling single CDs in 2005.

In 1989 after the birth of his first child, Harold moved from Los Angeles back to Germany to raise a family but kept working in his Munich based Red Deer Studios. He produced the highly successful Pet Shop Boys album Behavior there in 1990. In 1991 he and his wife were blessed with twins. During 1992-1997 he spent the majority of his time in Munich working on several Euro Movies, TV Series and developing new artists. In 1997 Harold met Austria’s multi-platinum seller Rainhard Fendrich with whom he composed and produced a trilogy of very successful albums and also a musical – Wake Up, which had its premiere

September 2002 in Vienna’s famous Raimund Theatre. The musical played through January 2004 and had more than 300 performances with a total of 320,000 visitors. In 2006, Harold scored a chart-topping video game Two Worlds, and then turned his focus back to developing new artists for the European market from 2007 to 2008. In 2009, with all 3 children fully grown, the time was right to come back to Hollywood. First project up was John Stalberg’s debut feature High School (August 2009) staring Adrien Brody and Michael Chiklis. He then got the nod from director Kevin Smith and produced the music for Cop Out for Warner Brothers starring Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan, released in 2010.

(October 12, 2018 - BURBANK, CA) – WaterTower Music today announced the details of the original motion picture soundtrack for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, the second of five all new adventures in the Wizarding World™ created by J.K. Rowling. The film will be in theaters November 16, 2018.

Grammy and Emmy Award winner and multiple Oscar nominee James Newton Howard (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, The Hunger Games franchise) returned as the Fantastic Beasts composer, creating a robust, 25-track soundtrack which will be available to stream and purchase digitally November 9, 2018. Fans are able to hear two of those tracks early, as WaterTower Music has just released both “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” and “Salamander Eyes” for streaming and purchase.

In addition to the score, the soundtrack will treat fans to three solo piano cues performed by James Newton Howard and not heard in the film: “Dumbledore’s Theme (Solo Piano)”, “Fantastic Beasts Theme (Solo Piano)” and “Leta’s Theme (Solo Piano).” Those three tracks are scheduled to be released October 26, 2018.

“To work on Fantastic Beasts is a wonderful musical opportunity,” describes composer James Newton Howard. “The movie is delightful, substantial, and complex; and [director] David Yates focuses very seriously on the music and is a truly passionate and enthusiastic collaborator.”

The album is scheduled to be released digitally on November 9, a week before the film’s release. It will be released on CD on November 30, 2018 and on vinyl in January 2019.

SHINE is a film that showcases the culture and tradition within the Nuyorican community with salsa music and street dance as a way of life. The dance defines the film’s central characters and echoes the story plot lines of seduction and love to anger and betrayal.
