Jim post template
I feel compelled to write about my cousin’s art and how brilliant he was at paying attention to detail. My cousin Jimmy Terry has passed. He was a great person who left many loving memories and an awesome son behind. He was also creative and left behind many works of art. This picture is an amazing piece of art Jimmy created because it is a cat with a halo upon its head. The picture has many details that I ponder deeply upon. I myself have a great talent of drawing, and I find much joy in analyzing the creativity of others. Yet, this picture really has some powerful annotations and structures in design.     "I first find myself staring at the halo encircling the hair above the cat’s head. There is also a smaller halo that can symbolize man’s level of Godhood in spirituality under the main halo that is the holy anointing under God’s divine spirituality." I admire how the artist styled the hair to extend up and through the lower halo but not above the higher halo. This means that the artist approves mankind’s love of physical self and style that often penetrates our spiritual being. He also left an opening for the penetration inside the lower halo, unlike the upper halo that is full within. This also gives respect and authority to the upper halo of God.The artist also chose a great design for the cat’s left ear. He illustrated an earring loop at the top with four piercings going downward. This detail makes me think of many different cultures in society. To many people, the hoop earring symbolizes sexual behavior. The other open piercings in the ear make me think of teen rebel behavior and/or demonic cults. I think the artist placed these details on the animal’s ear cartilage to symbolize that our physical is always pierced and pinched with influences from the world. Because the other ear doesn’t have any piercings, I reference this to the belief that the devil is on one shoulder and an angel is on the other.     The eye is also a masterpiece. The left eye is open wide, looking straight forward and deliberate. Inside the eye is a red droplet that I believe to be a tear. The fact that its red makes me think that it’s blood. This detail brings sad emotions to me. The statement “Blood in my eye” is often said when people see no way out of a situation or when they see the destruction of humanity ever present in their perspective. Those empathetic people often wish to see better days, longing for humanity to do better as a whole.I find it interesting that there is red eyeliner on the eyelid. This detail causes me to question the gender of the cat. The makeup appears extra. I think the artist was expressing disdain for new modern women overemphasizing their eyebrows today. These slanted, dark eyebrows have taken the present world by storm. Sadly, it only makes a woman look mischievous and angry.Below the eye is a fur detail or a tattooed letter “Z.” I find this interesting because many people today find it impressive to mark their faces, exemplifying their true emotions to everyone they encounter. Many people today have tears, which symbolize they either committed murder or are grieving a death. Others in some cultures write mission statements on their faces.     I can’t make the detail out fully, yet I see many things: a sideways coiled snake, the letter “Z,” or stroke detail to add a layer to the cheekbone. The mark could possibly mean “The end has come” if it is the last letter in the alphabet. However, it could simply be shading.I find it amazing that the artist chose to let hanging hair cover the right eye. I immediately thought of the “all-seeing eye” that is on every dollar. My mind traveled down a sad road of international bankers, central bankers, big brother cameras, and monopolizing social platforms suddenly able to block you and erase you without deliberation or consequence. I conclude that we are living blind to allow such organizations to develop.     Shaking my head, lowering my eyes, I noticed the mouth of the cat. There are no whiskers, making the art more human to me. There are no teeth, displaying humility. I’m confused about whether it is really a cat or a dog. The deep glare has me thinking the image could possibly be a Yorkshire terrier, but I’ll assume it’s a cat. The lips are fixed with a look of determination, not anger or sadness. Just a look of expelling to the viewer, “You know already what I’m about to say.”Observing the body, I see two wings extended outward. I refuse to say that this is the cat’s fur. I think that those are wings of an angelic figure. The middle torso and lower body appear to be a robe.I’m suddenly enraptured into a heavenly sphere of thinking. I’m feeling a great euphoria that the artist has taken me to. The picture gives me hope that even though our minds and conscious endure so much in society, we are still heavenly bodies. I feel enlightened with a certain knowledge that this artist relayed to me. He knows how I feel and that I too believe in a better place, a peaceful place where our final form can move at the speed of light and wear similar robes that don’t create false stereotypes and pride.     I love the illustration. The picture further motivates me to believe that we, including animals, have an eternal soul. Animals should not be slaughtered for oil or food.I recently read how cats can sense a bad energy or spirit and often protect its owner at night, thus sleeping in the bed with you. This art has given me a layer of protection indeed, displaying telepathy that humanity is going to be okay because the artist and I realize that the greatest commandment is “Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.”

A Positive Outlook on Life
Tumblr media
I arrived at the mall early in the morning. I decided to walk to the restroom and wait. I noticed many senior citizens walking in groups. As I walked, I began thinking of my novel, Beginning of the End. I remembered how a significant plot point of the book is based on an older woman’s (Robin) troubled mentality. She hadn’t come to grips with how her lifestyle was changing as she aged, or how her appearance no longer fit the beauty standards of a culture obsessed with youth. Like many women her age, Robin felt discarded—or worse yet, invisible altogether.  I recalled a scene where she was home alone, contemplating going to the mall for makeup.   “Phantasms of the local mall drained some of her energy. Thus, her arms uncrossed, and her body spun around on a crooked compass. Robin resented seeing the elderly women in colorful jogging attire striding past to stay in shape. “Running is extra stress that doesn’t help a person look any younger,” she quoted to herself, “—it’s all in the mind!”  Loud echoes sounded throughout the home. Robin began to mimic the mall walkers, as she stormed her way through the residence, to the office.”               The story developed from there. In her anger, Robin made a horrible decision that destroyed many lives. As I dwelled in the moment, thinking about how I had come to write the book, I was suddenly approached by a woman who started small talk. She was a mall walker who was striding along. “Do you come here often?” I asked. She smiled and said, “I come for solace, and a peace of mind. There is air-conditioning, and they also have chess.” We both smiled. She continued. “I can’t play chess, but I know it’s about protecting the queen or something.” Then she laughed out loud. “Have a good day!” she said.               I soon realized that none of the senior mall walkers had a phone in their hand. They were not giving in to the new cyber world—they were living in the present and maximizing the moment. Some were also in groups, encouraging each other to pursue on.               On the other hand, I did pull out my phone to look up the benefits of mall walking. I quickly discovered some important information.“Members have been walking the mall anywhere from five years all the way up to 20 years. They range from ages 65 to 90 years old and tend to walk alongside those who have similar paces…  Researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston say women who walk 30 minutes a day reduce their risk of stroke by 20 percent. If they engage in brisk walking, that benefit increases to 40 percent.”  — http://www.homeinstead.com/manassas-va               I continued my journey to the store to buy some shoes. I shopped, then left the mall. As I walked away, I felt enlightened: Most youth run to stores, overindulging in material goods that they don’t need. This behavior often hurts their course in life. However, the aged do the opposite; they avoid the mall’s marketing proposals and glittering lights. They were focused on a fashion which will better their lives.               I then thought once more of Robin’s anger when she said:               “Running is extra stress that doesn’t help a person look any younger,” she quoted to herself, “—it’s all in the mind!”                 I determine that Robin was wrong. These people are not walking just to show off their colorful jogging outfits. The mall walkers are reliving their youth and reinforcing the quote, “good health is wealth.”To learn more of Robins actions throughout the story, buy your copy today: Beginning of the End  About Me Ken Overman is the author of the inspirational children’s book Don’t Call me the N- Word. The Beginning of the End- Quote
“Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.” - Ecclesiastes 7:8King James Version (KJV)
Tumblr media
By Ken Overman Many moons ago, a wise king decided to write a book called Ecclesiastes. I decided to use a quote from his writings. This quote was written by one of the wisest men to ever live, King Solomon. He wrote the book in self-reflection and contemplation.   For supportive reasons in philosophical teachings, I used the wisest man ecclesiastics as the opening quote for my book.“Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.” - Ecclesiastes 7:8King James Version (KJV)The quote isn’t necessarily used to say that the end of the world will be better than its creation.  Assuming you saw the book cover image, which is a nuclear explosion spreading fire and debris. I intend to use the quote in a broader context for all the problematic analysis that is covered throughout the book. The plot exposes many of our present social and personal disorders; racism, alcoholism, capitalism and terrorism. The quote is also fitting because, as a story-line climaxes, it soon ends. Then another character’s life is introduced. The story starts with a woman named Robin, realizing that she was close to the end of her life. She could see her beauty fading and feel her health diminishing. In her assessments, she made an irrational decision to force her husband to spend time with her, before it was too late. As a result, a chain of negative events happened that forever changed her life.  The story-line emphasizes how we should love older age and embrace that we are survivors. God made a way for us throughout the years!"The quote is also fitting because, as a story-line climaxes, it soon ends. Then another character’s life is introduced. "Robin’s story was a main focal point because the fear of mortality is a problem within society. People don’t realize that life is eternal. When a person understands eternal relationships, they will not make fear based decisions. They embrace the beauty of their older age. Elders express the wisdom earned over the years, to those coming behind them. In turn, the youth benefit with purpose enriching their lives. Senior citizenship is a great time to see your grandchildren, full of energy, ready to carry out your legacy.Another topic included within the story is trust. Denise and Robert are newlyweds that still hold secrets. Openness and true love can surpass all negative connotations that trouble marriages. Being honest and trusting your partner's judgement are the best ways for a relationship to work. Both people must come to grips with their goals and share them with their counterpart. Dishonesty festers a lack of faith in your spouse, which is the beginning of the relationships destruction. To improve the end results, Denise and Robert finally humbled themselves to each other and God.

Life's Possibilities
Tumblr media
Solution Christ - Sample Chapter     Linetta went to purchase her food.  She placed the package in the passenger seat, backed out, and merged into traffic. Rather hungry and not wanting to eat in front of her starving nieces, she arrived in the bag and fondled till she found a hot greasy sausage. Her two front pearly whites decapitated the link then held the body. Images of Mr. Foster began plaguing her mind as she traveled. Having a conversation with herself she contemplated. ‘They say first impressions last a lifetime. So unique in his fashion. Well, a woman like me who loves to consume, (Swallow) won’t fit in with the territory. I’m not trying to be like my parents. Hell to the naw.’  "She searched for a long sausage in union with placing her left blinker on. As she turned onto her sister's street, suddenly she heard sirens. While looking up in her rear-view, she nonchalantly said, “what the hell?”She pulled over blocking someone's driveway, in expectation of them needing to back out. (An old trick she learned from James.) While waiting for the officer, she rolled down her window then gust into her palm to see if she smelled wine. Confident, she reached towards the back passenger seat to retrieve her purse which contained her license and insurance. Suddenly, a white middle-aged officer with some type of defense mechanism yielded yells through her driver’s side window.“Put your hands where I can see them! What are you reaching for? "“My...Pur...” she says shivering.     “Get out the car slowly!" With watered eyes, she opens the door and gets out with her hands up while attempting to inform the officer of her motives."I...Just...I..."“Shut up! Put your hands on top of the car! Don’t make me Taser you!" Linetta complies. The officer holsters his Taser, then inquires while searching her person.“Do you have anything on you or in the car I should know about?" “No, officer. Why... Why you..."“Shut up!" he yelled. Linetta's mouth closed, a tear fell.“It looked like you were reaching for a gun or hiding something. Where are you headed?" He asked. In an attempt to think fast, she could only think of the smiling, upright Mr. Foster from the restaurant. "Christ Temple Church on Fourth St. Is there a problem officer?"Immediately the officer harmonizes. “Christ Temple Church on Fourth St.? Hey, I've been there. That's a diverse, spirit filled church. Amen. Uhm, I’m going to give you a break. You should know you were swerving quite a bit. Have you been drinking?"Entering the SUV she carefully said “No" without breathing outward. The officer cheerfully closed her door for her.“Of course not, you’re on your way to the Temple.”Wiping her last tears, she locked her seat-belt then established a grateful smile. The officer’s tone again became serious.“And by the way, I would strongly suggest that when you get pulled over again, I’m not wishing that on you... Leave your pretty little hands on the steering wheel. It's a new Sioux Falls policy to protect us officers. Amen. Well, you have a good service ma’am.” Linetta acted busy until the marked patrol car pulled off.Linetta's mind was blank as she pulled away from the curb. In silence she rode past two blocks then made a right into her sister's driveway. Unlike previous Sundays, Linetta didn’t honk the horn initiating a house full of last minute turmoil. She walked up to the dingy white and brown two bedroom flat and knocked twice. ‘Knock-Knock' The door slowly crept open revealing a youthful mimic of herself: Catasha.     “Good morning. Here we come."To learn more of Linetta's actions throughout the story, buy your copy today: 'Solution Christ' About Me Ken Overman is the author of the inspirational children’s book Don’t Call me the N- Word.
