A conversation I don’t think yall are ready for yet is that you can love a character sooooo much and relate to them and see yourself in them but at the end of the day they��re still fake and that’s why someone else’s take on them or headcanon about them isn’t a direct message about you or insult to your identity. If your identity is so wrapped up in a character that you can’t distinguish between reality and fiction, then you are the problem. Not some random person online who interprets the character differently than you.

ARC 2 AU DATABASE: the pawn ♟️

Basic Information

When first introduced in the world of Galantis, Pawn is a mysterious "ally" of Queen. They do not attack nor sabotage the Pirate during their time in Galantis. It is later revealed in Polaris that Pawn was created by the Machine to hold Kane's golden mind. Pawn true purpose is told to the Pirate in secret, as Queen is unaware of the location of Kane's mind. They were sent to observe Queen and destroy the remanents of the Armada from the inside.

Personality

For the most part, Pawn acts innocent and childish. However, there are some instances where elements of Kane's personality slip out. Especially when they are perturbed or upset. They enjoy building machines, like Kane, but they seek out artistic pleasure rather than utility. There is a layer of self-hatred for themselves, though. Primarily due to them wielding a piece of Kane's mind. They often blame themselves for Kane's actions, and they are determined to fix all of the destruction that their father left in the past.

Relationships

♛ Queen: She sees a lot of Kane in Pawn, leading to her being very protective of them. Though she herself doesn't know about the nature of Pawn's existence. Pawn, on the other hand, wants Queen to heal from the loss of Kane. They want her to accept his death, and move on.

♞ Khonsu: He initially viewed Pawn as a nuisance, but he eventually warmed up to them. Pawn is one of the few people allowed to make fun of Khonsu without being yelled at.

♜ Rooke: Pawn avoided Rooke at first, as they felt intimidated by him. Soon enough, they began to gain his trust by building Scrap-ipedes for him to fight.

♝ Bishop: Pawn despises him and actively avoids him. Not because Bishop did anything bad, Pawn just doesn't want to have their secret be revealed.

♚ Kane: While Pawn never met Kane, they loathe him.

🃟 Phule: They briefly met Phule, but they do not have any opinion on him.

Symbolism

The Centipede: Pawn is associated with centipedes, a symbol of fear and horror. But, centipedes can also represent hidden strength and courage in many different cultures. They are can symbolize pests, like a bug in a computer system; which how Pawn views themselves. A flaw in a program, a disgusting bug.

The Pawn: In chess, the pawn is the most common and weakest pieces in the game. However, once they reach the other side of the board, they can become any piece they desire (aside from the King). Pawn is meant to be a false pawn, as they hold a part of the king inside them. They are pretending to be a pawn, when in reality, they are a king.

Headcanons

Voice Claim: Kaai Yuki (Vocaloid) and the Machine from Pirate101

They like to swing and bounce their body in their idle animation. In the Polaris factory, their room has various unfinished projects and art pieces of the other Elites. Their tail has a direct connection to the Machine in Valencia, allowing for quick communication across worlds.
